Today I salute all of the hard working Cattlemen and Women who have forged a life for themselves out of hard work and dedication to a way of life that they love! Today in our office and meeting room, there is the yearly Cattlemen's Update for our local area taking place. As these men and women arrived today, I could hear their laughter, their greetings to one another, their hushed voices discussing matters of importance and I could hear the concern in their voices over what the future holds for them and their livelihoods.
It was interesting to listen to all of this and watch it unfold before my eyes. The meeting room is filled with a sea of cowboy hats......worn by young and old, men and women.
Today I salute you all!
(I must add that the Cattlewomen's Association and our local feed store provided a very, very, very yummy lunch!)

If we could just pass the cowboy morals to the whole world, would it not be a better place?
I love when my hubby wears his cowboy hat (and don't get me started on his chaps). LOL! Sounds like a great time!
A sea of cowboy hats.....and, here in Iowa, it would be a sea of caps printed with logos from seed or breeding companies.
Sounds like an interesting and informative day, Deserthen!
How cool! Real cowpeople! Takes me back to the days I raised pure breed Angus! I will again someday;)
I agree....a great big salute to the cattlemen and women out there. Some of the hardest working and honest people around. Oh and the Baker City (where I grew up) Cattlewomen's Association serves the best breakfast for the 4th of July around. I miss it.
