I've been missing from the blog for awhile.
Too much going on these days and I can't keep up with it all anymore.
I miss blogging.
Nobody really reads it much anymore (thank you to those that do and contacted me to make sure all was okay), but I guess it's not really about who reads it, is it.
Summer flew by and now Fall is upon us.
Fall means quilt weather, chilly days, cold nights, quilt weather!
Recently I was at moms house and she pulled out these quilt tops.
They are very old.
Made by my Nana, and both Great Grandmothers.
The pattern below, we had a hard time identifying, but we finally figured it out with some help from a friend and research.
It's called Flying Geese and is a very old pattern.
Mom thinks it was done by her Grandmother, my great-grandmother, whom I never met.
This quilt top is amazing in its detail and size!
This quilt top is a Wagon Wheel pattern.
Mom thinks it was done by my dad's mother (whom I never met) and mom ended up with it somehow.
It's beautiful with all of it's color and detail.
This one is an Irish Chain and was made by my Nana (mom's mom) when she was 18!
It is well over a hundred years old!
The tops were finished but never quilted.
My quest now is to find someone or a couple of people to finish them for us.
I know mom would like to see them finished. She's 86 now, soon to be 87 and I think it would be very special to have these finished for her.
