Sherri Baldy's SVG Saturday on Facebook, card tutorial, card topper 3D and MORE!

Did you know that every Saturday on Facebook My Besties Designs Color & Create that the SVG Design Team share some great ideas using Sherri's SVG files offered at her store?

Click here to join us on Facebook!

Today i would like to show you a "tutorial" on how i created this card for our Saturday SVG on Facebook.

I used a beautiful Card topper that was originally colored by Sherri that i turned into a 3D.
Click here for the card topper.

Do you love 3D and printables???  We have a wonderful My Besties Challenge where you can win 3D or printables from Sherri Baldy's store just by entering your card!

Click here for the My Besties 3D challenge!
My Besties 3D is looking for some new designers you can also click here to apply!

Let me show you how i created the card above using the Silhouette Cameo:
Supplies needed:

SVGs from Sherri's My Besties Shop

Cream cardstock
White cardstock
Light aqua designer paper

Tim Holtz stars

Stampendous Shaved Ice Glitter
Pink Sequins

Step one:
Using the Card shape bring it into the Silhouette and offset the card base. Copy and weld the two together to make your folded card base.

Step two:
Cut out the Card Shape in the colors shown. (i did not change any size settings)

Step three:
Layer your card sections and put on top of the folded card base as shown. (Tip- I put the tape on the card base and then place the card layers on top.

Step four:
Cut out the Window with the tree. i used the erase button to make just the tree by erasing the window.  I reduced the size twice to create the layers.

Step 5
Add your window layers to the card base layers.  I used foam tape on the cream tree and the smallest tree to give a bit of dimension to the trees.
I added the star gems from Tim Holtz.
 Thanks for stopping by!

Sherri Baldy SVG Saturday on Facebook- Let's make a "Brag Bag"

Welcome to My Besties SVG Saturday where i will share my newest My Besties SVG files with you and some older ones with a "twist".

We will have a "party" sharing the newest Sherri Baldy SVG files on Saturday on Facebook My Besties Designs - Click here to see all of the Design Team cards/projects on FB!

Do any of you remember "Brag Books"?  They were small books where you would have pictures of your grandchildren or your kids and carry them around in your purse to show your friends and family when ever they asked about your grandkids/children.

I decided to create a "Brag Bag", same concept as the "Brag Books" but with an svg and as a gift for my daughter.

I am using SVG file "Bag" available at Sherri Baldy's MyBestiesShop.com here.

***To make this bag look like the "brag bag" you need to do some hand cutting as well.  I cut off the flaps on the sides and bottom of the bag.  Made a strip the width of the bag and added a few inches to create the bottom crease. (you are left with only the handles and the bag front or back) (I can't give dimensions because it is based on how "big" you make your svg bag.) Then inside i cut a strip to go across the whole width (minus the handles) added the frames and the photos.

I am also using
SVG Fancy Frames
SVG stocking (in the Christmas pocket letter set)

When you untie the bow on the handle you can see the inside:

Sherri Baldy is also selling darling charms, i happened to color this one up for her so i am super excited to share this one:

Sherri Baldy's My Besties 3D Snowball Ornament

For the next two weeks at My Besties 3-D Deco Challenge blog we have another great challenge for you!

The theme is, Bell's, Baubles or Beads (Add one or two or all three to your card or Project)

To participate in our My Besties 3D challenges go here:

For this project i colored up this image 029  found at Sherri Baldy's My Besties Etsy store here or Scrapbook Stamp Society here and only used the top half of the image and then attached it to an actual ornament.

Side view showing the 3D layers:

Dies i used:
Memory Box Holly leaves. (in the video i used Doo Hickey holly leaves dies)

YouTube video instructions:

Written instructions:

What i did to make this ornament.  I purchase a set of "snowballs" (these are styrofoam type based..not glass or plastic) from Michaels.  I purchased some ornaments at a charity shop just so that i could take the ornament caps off.  Then i hot glued the ornament caps to the snowball.  I added the holly leaves and some beads..again hot gluing them to the ornament.  Next i colored my image and turned it into a 3D image.  Now for the tricky part.  I cut a strip of acrylic (from packaging).  At one end i made it into a point so that i could push it into the ornament base.  I used hot glue to add the acrylic strip to the back of iedthe 3D image, i do not recommend doing that because it starts to melt.. i would use a heavy duty glue and let it dry.  You have to position the acrylic on the back of the image so it will sit supporting the image on the ornament. You can test it with a glue dot first. To make it easy to push the acrylic strip into the ornament base, i first used my Xacto knife and made a slit into the ornament. Then i glued it into the the ornament to secure it.  Next i pulled the elbows of the image forward and hot glued them to the ornament.  Looks easy, but there is a bit of fussiness to this. I attached a ribbon to the back to hang the ornament, because if you look at the original digi you can see she is leaning on the ornament and the cap is to the side. i thought of adding an ornament hook, but because of gravity..it looks better without it.

Sherri Baldy's My Besties brand new release.. Printable My Besties tags!

That's right, Sherri Baldy has released Printable tags with some of your favorite My Besties images.  These tags are available at Scrapbook Stamp Society here.

You might be thinking..what am i going to do with a tag??? ... well let me show you some ideas and then hop on over to the My Besties 3D Challenge Blog where the team has even more ways to use your tags!

Here is a fun idea..turn them into Gift Card Holders.. i have two ways to do that and i have included instructions also.

How to make a gift card using a printable tag:
Crop one of the tags and enlarge it to 2.80" (you will have a bit of white around the image. Place the image at the top of the paper (paper direction should be horizontal). I used cardstock weight paper. Fold the paper in half just below the outline..as shown in the photo. Hand cut around the tag..leaving the fold on the bottom. If you want the slanted front..just cut on the diagonal and add some paper border or lace. Trace around your tag to get the inside liner. Tape the the side only of the mailbox card. tape the bottom and side on the tree card. Hole punch at the top and add ribbon etc. Embellish.

Sami Stamps- Silent Night

Sami Stamps has released 2 relatively newer fox images in her shop.  They are adorable.  I decided to use this one called "Sunny Spot" as a Christmas image.

Oh and guess what?  This image is a custom stamp..yep, that's right..you can request for Sami to make a custom stamp for you..she does it two ways and the info is here.

I have embossed the background using a embossing folder from Darice called Snowflake swirl and I used a Memory Box die called Tall Birch #98336 for the background.  The snowflakes in antique gold glitter paper are from Cheery Lynn dies #C146.

** Top Tip Tuesday-  I've off centered the diecut birch trees to give a shadow and then i cut one more of lighter cardstock to give the tree some distance/depth.

Copics used:
E02, 11, 02, 97
nose- E29
foliage- E43
white- W1, CB
I painted the entire oval with Extreme Glitter Paint/hologram

I've used a sketch from Sketch Saturday, i used the trees in place of the rectangle:

Another Striped Ornament from Sami Stamps

I am really enjoying this striped ornament image from Sami Stamps and thought i'd make another one. I am making this one for a different challenge with an  inspirational photo with the hopes of entering it in some other Christmas challenges as well.
Here is my card:
And the side view:
I find this card to be interesting because i used clear gems and when i took the photo straight on, the gems looked metallic..maybe it is a reflection of the dark clothes i have on?
I did paper piece this ornament also.  Added a bit of Stickles/diamond and Gelly Roll/clear star.  I also used Copic- C1, 3 for shading and C0, 1 for the dots in the background with a slight touch of the Gelly Roll pen.  The Evergreen sprigs are a die from Doo Hickeys.
