Not much time for crafting these days, but I still enjoy making a card when I have a moment. Sometimes life deals us a bad hand, but we make it through....learning many lessons along the way. Today, for instance is lovely and sunny here, and once again not everyone is so fortunate. So stay safe and enjoy the day if you can!
This card is for my DH, who is definitely not feeling his best today, so hopefully a little humour and some nice bright colours will bring some cheer. This is another fun image from Just Inklined, called Best Seat in the House. It's coloured with Prisma pencils and OMS, then cut out with my Nestie Die.
For the layout, I've gone with this week's sketch at Cute Card Thursday. Nice and simple, but perfect for some nice bright papers and ideal for a male card.
The flower is a rub-on, and I've added a little doodling to the edges of the DP.
A little tip: I've used crackle accents on the sentiment for something a little different, and when you then add colour to the edges, it actually bleeds a little into the cracks. This would work well for vintage.
Thanks again for visiting, and hope you enjoy the card.

Bob Says Hi.....
Good morning everyone! It's time for a new challenge today at Charisma Cardz, and this time around it's a real easy one.....we would like to see lots of glitter!
My title today, plays on the name of the image "Bob" which was provided by one of our sponsors this week, Digi Stamp Boutique. He's such a sunny little fellow, I thought he would bring a little cheer for a get well card. With the nice colourful DP and the added glitter, he's sure to bring a smile.
So we have 2 sponsors again this week, with some lovely prizes up for grabs!
Don't forget to head on over and check out the rest of the DT cards....there will be lots of inspiration, and hopefully we will get to see your creation this week too!
Some fun challenges for this card:

Whew! I wasn't sure that I would make it in time....but I did! This is my GD card for this week's challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. Can you guess the theme? Yep...it's a back to school theme. Now, not everyone is so excited by the idea, but if I remember rightly, the first day back was always good....when you got to meet up with your friends again!!
This is a pretty simple design, with no DP. I've used the Happy Teen image, colouring her with water colours and adding a border of stickles to the die cut edge. Some faux stitching and alphabet stamps dress up the card blank, and a few gems and ribbons add a bit extra. The school bag is another image, this time from The Stamping Boutique.
So why not give it a go, for your chance to win some of these designs for yourself. We would love to see your entry this week. Thanks for visiting!

More Please......
Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. It's been a while since I've posted a DT card for Just Inklined.....but I had a chance today to work on a card. Life has been very hectic here lately, and it isn't going to slow down anytime soon....
Today's card uses the scrumptious image High Tea, a mouth watering delight with zero calories! I've coloured again with Prisma pencils and OMS, adding stickles and cutting the circle with my Nestie die.
For the layout, I've followed the lovely sketch from Card Patterns, working with an embossed panel and a MS punch for the lace scallops. Some faux stitching and glitter pen accents provide a bit more interest, and I worked with a stencil to come up with the two corner patterns.

Blog Hop and New Release at SSD
It's the weekend, and here's wishing you a great one! Now, it's time for a blog hop at Sassy Studio Designs, where you will get to view some amazing DT creations using the new release. I'm the guest designer for the month of August, and it's been loads of fun playing with these new images!
Today, I've used the White Queen, but as you can see I have added some purple! I've coloured with Prismacolor pencils and OMS, and this time used chalk for the background. Cut and layered with my Nestie die, I then embossed and inked a background layer. The raised border on the card blank was made using my Score-pal. This was a nice easy card to make and has quite an elegant look.
So sit back and relax as you follow along on the hop.....and be sure to leave a comment at each stop for your chance to win! There are two Sassy images up for grabs!

Double Die Cuts
Good morning everyone! It's challenge time at Sassy Studio Designs and this is my GDT entry for this week. Our challenge is to use die cuts....and this time it's to used more than one die cut.
I've gone with another Christmas card, this time using the image Sexy Santa. I've coloured her up with some of those new copics I purchased (reds and greys), and I've used Prisma pencils and OMS for the browns and green. Glamour dust added some sparkle to the white trim of her outfit, and she was then cut out with the Labels Twenty Nestibilities die. The second die used is Fancy Tags Three, again from Spellbinders, however, I've covered the tag section by adding a strip with some ribbon.
The DP is from the Basic Grey, Jovial line, while the bright green cardstock (to match her top) as been dressed up with a pine branch stamp.
Hope you liked my card, and perhaps we will see your entry this week! Have yourselves a wonderful day, and thanks for visiting.

Just a quick post to give you a sneak peek at one of the new Sassy Studio Designs images to be released this weekend. Head on over and leave a comment there, and you just might win this image! In addition, this Saturday is the big hop and party chat! Hope you can make it!
This little sweetie is called Esmeralda Honey. She's been coloured with copics and prisma pencils, and then partially cut out with my Labels 16 Nestibilities die.
For my layout, I've followed the sketch at CLP, using lots of red and honey colours and just a bit of black to make it pop.
The DP is from Memory Box (Brioche), while the card blank has been sponged with scattered straw DI and then stamped with a flourish.
Here's a few fun challenges that I'll enter, be sure to check them out.

The Kitchen Shelf
This morning, I am very pleased to be posting my first DT card for Charisma Cardz, using this cute little image from The Stamping Boutique called Kitchen Shelf.
This week, the theme is Distressed and we have two wonderful sponsors!
and
For the distressed look, I have worked with DI's on the embossed card blank, the doily and the edges of the image. In addition, I've stamped the card blank, and the ribbon (lol) with a crackle stamp, for a different effect.
Now, be sure to head on over to the challenge blog and have a look see at the rest of the DT creations. There's lots of eye candy and inspiration to be found there, and hopefully you will join in our challenge! Hope to see you there!
Thank you so much for your visit, and here's hoping you have a wonderful day!

The Distressed Look...
Good morning! Hope the sun is shining where you are, and here's wishing you a beautiful day! But of course, if won't be that many more months until the snow is here again.
Today's card is my first as a guest designer for Sassy Studio Designs, and it's for their current challenge using a Distressed Theme. You'll note that I've used a lot of grey DI on all the edges, and I've also used the same colour to stamp some flourishes on the blue DP. For the layer behind the image, I've used a script stamp and then torn the paper, giving a nice distressed edge. Lots of glamour dust highlites the snow and snow flakes, but hasn't really shown up well in the photo.
Image used: First Snow (by Sassy Studio Designs)
Medium: ProMarkers and Prismacolor pencils
Tools: Nestibilities Labels 18 die
Other: flower, ribbon and glitter peel-offs from my stash.
Thanks for visiting, and hope to see your entry in today's Dare to be Sassy challenge!

Prairie Girls
Good morning everyone! Here's a card I made yesterday with something a little different.
This was supposed to be a DT card, but I got confused on the designer's image...so it's just for fun! This little image is from Pixie Dust Studios, and is called Prairie Girls. My one granddaughter is a huge fan of Little House on the Prairie books.
For my layout, I've followed along with the Pink{Ink} Sketch Challenge. I've coloured the image with Prisma pencils and copics, then cutting it into a circle and then cutting around for the sky. This is the part that is different. Using the same size of circle, I scrunched up the paper and then rubbed DI over all of the creases (blues, grays and a touch of tea dye), and then I ironed it flat. I like the effect and will have to try it again.
The buttons and bows were a vacation purchase, (love those) from Papermania.
Just a quick post, as we are off for appointments shortly.

In Your Corner
Good afternoon everyone. It's raining plenty here today, but that's okay....I wasn't going outside anyway. Looking after my DH, who's traveling a rocky road at the moment. Hence the idea for this card.
Well, I splurged the other day and purchased a few more copics. Can you guess what colours? I would like you to meet Rocky, a real fighter, another one of the fabulous images available at Just Inklined. A very simple card design, just matching the colours with the DP and adding a little doodling for the ropes. The big guy basically steals the show! Hopefully it will bring a chuckle.

News, News, News
This post contains no card, but lots of news. Are you familiar with the saying...'It never rains but it pours'? This month I've been accepted on a number of design teams, so you will be seeing a number of DT and GDT cards shortly. I've waited until today so that I could make all the announcements in one post.
The Good News!
First off, I'm excited to say I'm now a proud new member of the DT at Charisma Cards. They have a weekly challenge, with some wonderful sponsors, and my first card will be up this Thursday. Their current challenge is a Bingo challenge, and you still have lots of time to enter.
Secondly, my card submission last month for Sassy Studio Designs won me their GDT spot for the month of August! They have some gorgeous images, and a new release coming out on the 20th! Be sure to check out their weekly challenges too, for your chance to win some of these images.
Thirdly, I'm also pleased to announce that I was accepted for the GDT position at Stämpelkällan. They too have their own stamp line, and I'm really looking forward to playing with these images! I have the second term here, so I don't really start until December. If you'd like to check them out, you will see that they have a challenge going this month too!
Now, remember that bit about the rain? I also have news that isn't good. My husband is quite ill at the moment, and we are waiting on tests to determine the problem. Hopefully, we get some answers this week, so that he can be on the road to a quick recovery. This is just to let you know, in case I appear to be MIA. Take care everyone, and enjoy the moment.

Silhouette Grass
Hello there!! We had a major day of rain today. Every time that I had to go out, the skies opened and it positively poured. Not complaining though....nice break from the heat, and we really need the rain.
So how about a nice and easy, or my version of a CAS card. Here I've used a large stamp from Hero Arts, called Silhouette Grass. I've inked the stamp using green and brown DI. After stamping the image, I've used blue, orange and green DI to sponge in the background, giving it a soft summer feel. A bit more to the edges with some brown and its almost all done. When finished, I spritzed it with a fine mist of water for a slightly different look. Just a butterfly and a corner piece for embellishment, a layer of brown and a simple stamped sentiment finish it off.
Sometimes its just nice to make a card that finishes up so quickly. If you have any questions, just leave them in a comment, and I'll definitely get back to you. Thanks so much for visiting.

Check it Out....Blog Hop at Just Inklined!
Hard to believe it's August 1st already, and here in Canada it's a Civic Holiday! Today's date could mark the middle of summer, but because it's also the first Monday in the month.....its time for another Blog Hop at Just Inklined. This month, the theme is checks (no not paychecks!) but a pattern made with little squares. If you have arrived here from the talented Heidy's blog, then you are on the right track. Otherwise, you really should travel back to Karen's blog, who is our hostess this time around. It would be a shame to miss anything! And again this month, be sure to leave some comments along the way as there will be a couple of spot prizes at two mystery blogs!!
My card uses a DP from my stash with a soft check pattern, but the centre of attraction is the cute little puppy. It's actually the West Highland Terrier image from Just Inklined. Although a different breed, he reminds me so much of my daughter's new puppy, and hence the idea for the design. The other day he had so much fun digging up her new hydrangea when she wasn't looking! Got to love it! lol.
Now you'll need to head on over to Jak's blog, who always has something special to share. I've listed the blog hop order below, just in case you lose your way.
