So an attempt to reboot a franchise that most weren't impressed to begin with.

So it's a reboot. Spiderman's had like two reboots so why not give this franchise a chance, right? Well, after watching this one I'd guess the word reboot might be thrown around a little earlier than later. So Fantastic Four, the family of superheroes created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in the early 60's and was an immediate hit and spawn a new generation of storytelling in the comic book world. Stories that were far more relatable to the average readers with superheroes that faced familiar problems we faced in between fighting super-powered bad guys and had personalities that we'd recognize in each other. Or so I've read.

Critics Consensus: Shailene Woodley gives it her all, but Insurgent is still a resounding step back for a franchise struggling to distinguish itself from the dystopian YA crowd.

I HAD A CHOICE BETWEEN WATCHING THE PREVIEW SCREENING OF DEMONIC OR DIVERGENT. I CHOSE THE ONE SHOWING ON IMAX...

So yeah, Divergent was showing on IMAX also I checked out the IMDB page for both movies and both had early ratings out and Divergent was much higher. Also I'm sort of tired of watching horror movies because they're pretty much the same thing, same story, same scare tactics. And since Demonic was done by pretty much the same folks that did a number of horror movies I saw last year I figured might as well try for something new or new-ish.

So there's this drummer that wants to be one of the greatest and a jazz conductor who's method of teaching would make the Soup Nazi proud...

So this movie came out late last year and in the most recent Oscars bagged quite a number of accolades. I had not really heard of this film and of course I'm not really one to be really swayed by an Oscar nod to have to go and see it. But hearing lots of good things about it did make me curious. Especially since it is about music and of course I heard it had good music in it. And luckily enough for me it had just opened in our local cinemas. Yeah, I know it's a little late but round here the blockbusters get shown first the small independent and really good movies usually get very limited distribution and really short play periods. Sometimes it doesn't even show up. So yeah, really, really lucky that this one was being shown in cinemas so that I can properly support it while I enjoy it.
