Serenity for the Home
I saw these images on delight by design a nd went crazy for them. I love the modern simplicity of each room and yet there is something about each room that is rooted in tradition as well. This is my kind of decorating!

Home Sweet Home
After an eleven hour drive back from San Francisco, I am pleased to be home. Bittersweet as I love spending time with my daughter but I was definitely ready to get out of the Mini! I had an amazing week in San Francisco helping my daughter redo her apartment. It's now painted a beautiful grey and has been cleaned out and rearranged. It looks absolutely amazing. I can't think of a better way to spend my summer- such a treat. Now that I'm home, I have all kinds of ideas for my own place. One easy remodel would be a new sink/cabinet in the small half-bath off the kitchen. Here are some great ones that give me food for thought.

Rustic Elegance Part II
Beautiful neutrals - always my first love. They have such a calming effect on my soul. I love the chair in the last photo of the living room. I've never seen anything like it. I also love the counter of the bathroom. Very organic and natural. I would love to crawl out of bed to that!

My New Crush - Skona Hem
Lately, I'm finding so much inspiration from Sweden. I love the simplicity and organic feeling of the rooms with the use of light colors and natural elements. Skona Hem, the Swedish magazine, is filled with so many beautiful rooms and I feel so inspired to work on my own home to help it evolve into a home I enjoy. I especially love the last photograph with a swing in the dining room. What kid (or adult!) would be able to resist a quick whirl around the room. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
