A-England - Captive Goddess (Rossetti's Goddess 2015)

Wow, this is a complicated shade of ...what exactly? A-England describes it as a complex holographic blend of cerulean blue, aquamarine green and muted purple veiled by a silver grey shadow. The base is a grey with a hint of petrol/steel blue, there is a hard flash of cerulean blue, a soft shimmer of lilac and some faint green shimmer at the edges and to top it of there is the soft holo dusting. The colour reminds me of a labradorite stone, I have earrings with that stone so I made a picture with it for comparison.
The formula is lovely, this a two buttery coats.

China Glaze - Cabin Fever (The Great Outdoors Collection, autumn 2015)

Cabin Fever from the Great Outdoors Collection by China Glaze, is a special colour: it is a duo chrome and shifts from greenish golden to a rusty reddish colour..... But when you take it off there is turquoise on your cotton pad......>weird<.
This is two coats; the formula covers well but is very liquid so you have to be careful not to flood your nails with polish. I had some bald spots in the first layer, but the second layer fixed all that. My camera did not want to pick up the reddish hue, so I had to resort to standing on my head to try and capture it.......

Catrice - 800 Heavy Metallilac

And, again.., I have a Catrice polish on show today!
It is Heavy Metallilac(number 800), a purple almost duochrome polish wonder.
There is some pink and golden shift in there and it adds to the inner glow of the purple.

OPI - Next Stop...The Bikini Zone (OPI Brazil Collection spring/summer 2014)

Day 6: (still going strong here..!!) This is the last polish I have from the Brazil Collection at the moment. It is the duochrome indescribable colour Next Stop...The Bikini Zone. It is sort of silverish brown/grey with lilac and olive sheen I guess. The same sort of colour is in the latest Muppets Most Wanted Collection (Kermit Me To Speak) but then without the tiny flecks and this one has a little less colour shift.

I did three coats here but that was just for good measure, you can get by with two. I like it a lot but I think I like Kermit Me To Speak just a tiny bit better because it is a fraction more outspoken than this one.

OPI - Miss Piggy's Big Number (Muppets Most Wanted, Soft Shades Collection 2014)

Man, do I like this polish!!!
Miss Piggy's Big Number is blue on fire, smoldering skies, glowing sapphires, Gonzo gone electric, or, or, or....
It is perfect, really!
It borders on metallic, it has some duo chrome qualities (shifting from turquoise to purple) and it shimmers.
The formula was perfect as well, very easy to handle and you get electric nails in two easy coats of blueeee.

The only weird thing about this polish is the name; when I think about Miss Piggy I do not envision this heavenly blue!

That's My little blog in a 2013 nutshell!

So...........let's start 2014:

What is better then to start the New Year with a glorious indie polish, from Crowstoes no less: Storms Never Last! It is a teal jelly with tons of hot pink micro glitter and slightly bigger turquoise glitter (in the bottle is some shift to orange noticable but this does not transfer to the nails).
It is a jelly so it does not get totally opaque....and I was not up for that (nor multiple layers) so I surged in my stash and found Kiko Venom Teal, which is, like the name already suggests, a teal polish with duo chromy possesions. It goes from green/ turquoise to purple/pink: THE perfect undies for my Crowtoes baby :-)

This is one layer of each and a double helping of top coat (OPI RapiDry). I am wearing this for 3 days now and there is no tipp wear what so ever >yeah<!

Dance Legend - 48 Multi shifting Shining Rainbow and Kiko Quick Dry 817

A few weeks ago (I was just back from the holiday) I was just cruising the Ninja Polish website and found this stunning duo chrome with holografic effect polish by Dance Legend...I just needed to try it (I also bought the Ninja Polish Glamorous which will be my next post in a few days time).
The Dance Legend nr. 48 is very cool. It is this taupe/braunish colour which shifts from pink to gold and some times turquoise and the added bonus is are the holografic particles: stunning, mesmerizing, dreamy...soo cool!
On it's own it is quite translucent so I used 1 layer of Kiko Quick Dry 817 as base colour and added just 1 layer of Dance Legend to get an opaque result.

I tried to capture it's beauty and failed.
This is what I got on camera:

YES: finally in the evening I got some pink shimmer!
The pink shimmer was playing hide and seek and the hint of blue proved even more difficult to capture.
In real life this is a even more gorgeous polish and very work appropriate if that is something to be careful about.
I wore this for four whole days and I had no chips, no extreme tipwear whatsoever (I used NYC Grand Central Station as topcoat) so absolutely perfect for a holo polish.

The big conclusion: love it a lot and I can recommand it wholeheartedly, it is a gorgeous, mesmerizing polish :-)

Petit haul from France...Lollipops, Biguine and Nocibé

Just got back from a two week trip to the south of France!
We froze our asses off....it was C O L D: only 4 Celsius in the night (and we were camping!)....who would have thought it could be so cold this time of year in the Midi Pyrénées?!

And yet...there were some sunny moment as well :-)
Salade in the swamp.....

We had a very busy schedule so there were not much shopping opportunities....
I only visited La Fayette and the Nocibé:

Biguine Gloss&Shock 13573 Kaki Silver

Mademoiselle Violette is a stunning glitterbomb! In the bottle it reminds me of Zoya Julieanne...on the nail it is a completly different story. It is a jelly with loads of microglitter that shifts in colour from deep purple to hot pink. When the light is just right you can even detect a shift to the golden copper tones. The formula was terrible: syrupy and glue like...it can be I was a little impatient (this was the last polish to swatch)....yet.... This were two thick gloopy layers of glue ;-)

The Kaki Silver reminds me of OPI's Designer De Better...it has the same feel to it. Metallic glass fleck with some different colours thrown  together in a happy marriage silver with green and brown flecks. The formula was perfect a bit on the thick side but very workable. This is two easy layers.

Fall In Love with Angels Only
Next up is the Nocibé trio, starting with the glitter topper Angels Only. It has tiny micro gold glitter and some slightly bigger gold micro glitter together with red and pink micro glitter in a transparent base. It is a topper, you can were it alone (of course) but it will never become opaque. This was two layers.

Second up is the Vernis Caméléon in Spectral Pink a true duo chrome polish! The base colour is a golden copper tone that shifts from pure yellow gold to bright pink. It has a lovely workable formula and the result is pefect in two layers. It sparkles like crazy in the sun and I really like the added effect of Angels Only.

Third up is Fall In Love, a strawberry jam red with some micro micro glitter and a slight blue/purple shift. In the bottle this looked very interesting (especially in the bright halogen lights of the store...). In real life I am not so very excited though. It is a unforgiving colour: too rich and to cold looking on me....I do not think that it gives me lobster hands but it makes me look very pale and unhealthy. The topper does nothing for it either, in the pic it looks OK but in real life: >ieuw< ! The contrast was too big the gold too stark for the strawberry jam. No it did not make me fall in love and even angels couldn't help me.
The formula was good, this is two layers...perhaps I should have gone for three to make it even deeper and more like the bottle.
