Essie - Cocoa Karma dotticure (Suite Retreat, Resort Collection 2015)

A dotticure again, this time with the complete Resort Collection 2015 from Essie.
The base is Cocoa Karma with dots of Suite Retreat (filled in with Cocoa Karma) and Stones 'n Roses filled with Time for Me Time. The result is a bit bumpy because of the dots-in-dots, the pink in pink dots look a bit like *zits* in retrospect.....but.....all in all I really like dots :-)

China Glaze - Boundary of Memory (The Giver Collection, autumn 2014) and comparison with China Glaze In The City (Metro Collection, autumn 2011)

China Glaze and micro glitters: WOW they do them so well!
There are two in The Giver collection: Boundary of Memory and The Outer Edge. The last one is probably more of a topper but you could get it semi opaque on the nail if you really wanted to (and I DO, but I'll reserve that for later).
Today it is Boundary of Memory: a splendid mix of black, silver and copper gold micro glitter. The formula was a bit thick, like I was putting a sandy syrup on my nails but it was workable and completely opaque in two coats.

I used Essence Nial Art Peel Off base coat and added one extra layer of topcoat (Essence Gel-Look XXXL shine) underneath China Glaze Fast Forward to even everything out. This whole sandwich was VERY hard wearing! It didn't chip at all and after a week I needed to work very hard to "peel" (more like hack and peck) the whole thing off again.
This glitter mix does remind me a bit of China Glaze In the City (China Glaze Metro collection for Fall 2011) but that polish had more of a lilac undertone and was thus a bit colder in hue.
I will put a comparison swatch up when I have time this week.......

BB Couture for Nails - Eve (Infamous Lovers Collection 2010)

Infamous lovers...doesn't that sound great?!
And of all these infamous lovers I choose Eve and the colour and name combination is perfection.
Eve is a murky, mossy, swampy green-brown jelly with flashy green micro glitters floating around and a vague brown red duochrome quality. It is a complicated shade (fitting for Eve) that is hard to capture in words and in pictures, but one that is very, very fun to wear!
It is an older polish (2010) but I think if you channel the Sherlock Holmes in you, it might still be possible to find this polish on the web...

The first coat was a bit streaky but the second one made all the difference and gave me these beautiful swamp nails!
This would be a very nice Halloween polish as well, come to think of it....

Nicole by OPI - Cinna-man of my Dreams (Gumdrops Collection 2013)

Polish on holiday number 5:

Some call it Liquid Sand, others Pixiedust, Texture polish or Gumdrops.
Nicole by OPI calls it Gumdrops, today I have Cinna-man of my Dreams on display.
I  L O V E this one, it is a complex colour with gold, rust, wine, orange and even some purple hidden in there somewhere. It makes my hands look very tanned (bonus) and it has some holo twinkle going on as well!

Very workable formula, two easy coats that dry very quickly (I love that about these kind of polishes).
I wore this one for days on end and it kept looking good!

OPI - Warm Me Up and Wonderous Star (Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Collection)

To stay with the December feeling I have two Christmas polishes for you today.
OPI Warm Me Up and OPI Wonderous Star; the first is a cold leaning brown with a foggy appearance (it is almost a neutral really), the second is a clear base polish with gold glitter and with a hint of black glitter (a bit like ground pepper). I thought the WMU needed something extra and the WS on it's own was too much contrast between the gold and the black...so a combination was born!

It works, I think: the brown underneath makes the black glitters blend in better and the gold gives the brown a bit more sparkle and warmth.
I'm still not over the moon with this Holiday Collection (a bit too boring and bland for me) but it is growing on me ;-)
