Gold Bird Cage

At SweetStamps blog today our theme is Silver or Gold.  Please join us for a chance to win $20.00 in FREE stamps by entering your Silver or Gold creation in our challenge.  If you enter using a SweetStamps stamp you will be entered twice in the drawing.

For todays card I started with a white A2 card and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of printed bird paper from the Authentique Lively 6x6 paper pad both were pounced with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.  The printed paper was outlined with a Gold Leafing Pen.  I stamped the 6007 Robyn Bird Silhouette on Stardream text-weight paper with Distress Embossing ink and heat embossed with Queen's Gold EP then hand cut it.  I die cut the B198 Bird Cage and B117S Mini Fanciful Flourish both from Cheery Lynn Designs from Gold Mirror card stock.  I glued the bird to another piece of Stardreams paper and used Krylon Spray Adhesive on the bird cage to layer it over the bird.  I cut around the bird cage and used foam dots to layer it on the card.  To attach the flourish I used Micro Glue Dots because I wanted some areas to remain loose from the card.  I colored the rhinestones with a YR24 Copic marker.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks blog challenge at SweetStamps.com, please join us next week when our challenge will be Thank You.

For this card I used the LR0212 Anja's Rose Border from Marianne's Creatables to make the border on the card.  The image is the 7041 Triple Roses from SweetStamps.com.  I colored the roses with Copic markers and added Tutu Pink Creative Inspirations paint to the roses.  The flowered layer on the front was made using the DL 193 Horizon Coved Rectangle Mega Doily from Cheery Lynn Designs and paper from the 6x6 Authentique Delightful paper pack.  To add a little color to the front of the card I used a course pouncer and Amaryllis Shades Dye ink.  I hand cut the Roses and used foam dots to attach it to the flowered layer, added some pink shiny ric-rac and attached it to the card.

Inside of Card
On the inside of the card I used some pink paper from the Delightful paper pack and more of the ric-rac.  The stamp is the 9046 Vertical Happy Mother's Day from SweetStamps.com.

Stamped Frame

At SweetStamps blog today our theme is Stamped Frame.  Please join us for a chance to win $20.00 in FREE stamps by entering your Stamped Frame creation in our challenge.  If you enter using a SweetStamps stamp you will be entered twice in the drawing.

For this weeks challenge I used the 440 Artistic Trading Card (ATC) Frame from SweetStamps.com.  I stamped it on cream card stock, once using Latte Shades Dye ink from SweetStamps.com and once using Distress Embossing ink , this one I heat embossed with Medieval Metals EP.  I used the Latte ink direct to paper to add color to the embossed frame and the back side of the other frame.  I hand cut both the frames and also cut out the center of the embossed frame.  I stamped 534 Claudia from SweetStamps.com on cream paper using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored her with Copic markers then cut her out.   The DP I used for the background is from the 6" Glitz Vintage Blue paper pack.  To assemble the frame I first adhered a piece of acetate behind the opening in the embossed frame.  I used 1/16" foam dots behind Claudia and layered her to the DP.  To attach the front frame to the DP I used 2 layers of 1/8" foam dots to get the depth I needed.  The frame stamped in Latte ink was attached to back of the DP piece.  I cut (2) 11"x 1/4" strips of cream card stock, used the Latte ink to add color,  added adhesive to them and fit them between the 2 frame pieces, trimming off any access.  To finish the frame I added an easel stand on the back.

With Sympathy

All papers for this card were from my stash, not sure where I got them.  The die is the DL153 Polynesian Sails Doily die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I cut a backer out of blue card stock since I didn't have a DL153A Polynesian Sails Doily Angel Wing at the time.  The image is the 245 Bird on Flowering Branch colored with Copic markers and the sentiment stamp is the 9043 Vertical With Sympathy stamped using Tank Shades Dye ink both stamps are from SweetStamps.com.  Pearls and Roses were from my stash.

Happy Belated Birthday

I was late with a card for my son's 37th birthday so I made this Belated Birthday card.  The papers are some I had in my many stacks of 6x6 papers.  The dragonfly is the DL146 Dragonfly Large with Angel Wings from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I heat embossed the sentiment 916 Happy Belated Birthday from SweetStamps.com using Distress Embossing Ink, Nightfall Shades Dye ink and Fine Detail Clear EP (to make the dye ink  embossable first ink your image with the Distress Embossing ink, then ink with the dye ink, then stamp on your paper, apply EB and heat set).  I added two different border stickers and Metalique-Bronze Candi.  I used a W-5 Copic marker to color a small wooded tag, outlined it with a Gold Leafing Pen and stamped the  9091 Son stamp from SweetStamps.com in Delicata Golden Glitx ink from Tsukineko.  I also used the Copic marker to color the piece of twine that I used to hide the seam between the two papers.
I used a Quickie Glue Pen in the open areas of the dragonfly to add Sugar Sand to the wings.  For the inside of the card I embossed the 9115 Happy Thoughts from SweetStamps.com using the same technique as before.  The flourish is the B170 Mini Flourish One from CLD.

Bee Happy

For this card I started with a 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 square card that I embossed using the Crafts-Too EF3014 Dots embossing folder.  I used Honey Shades Dye ink direct to paper to color the dots and sponged the same ink around the edges.  The layers were die cut using Nellie's Multi Frame Stitching Square 1 MFD033.  The images are the 2021 Bee Happy DUO from SweetStamps.com.  The bee was stamped on Cryogen White Sparkle card stock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with the YR21 Copic marker and a Clear Stardust Gelly Roll Pen.  The sentiment was stamped using the 852 Word Frame DUO from SweetStamps.com on Cryogen White using the same inks as above.

Irish You Were Here

At SweetStamps.com's blog today our challenge theme is St. Patrick's Day. Please join us for your chance to win $20 of FREE stamps by entering your St. Patrick's Day creation in our challenge.

I die cut the doily and layered it to a piece of dark green card stock, then trimmed it to fit the doily (they make an angel wing for this doily but I didn't have it with me-would of been easier than hand cutting it).  The dark green piece behind the pot and the light green oval are Nellie's die cuts that were edged with gold leafing.  The pot was heat embossed with embossing powder and the gold coins were glittered.  The rainbow is colored with Spica pens and the rhinestones in the corners were colored with a Copic marker.

Products I used for this card:
and 8015 Rainbow by SweetStamps
Nightfall and Forest Shades Die Ink from SweetStamps
Celtic Fire Doily Die by Cheery Lynn Designs
MFD010 and MFD013 Multi Frame dies by Nellie Snellen
Spica Glitter Pens Red, Orange, Lemon, Melon, Sky Blue and Lavender
Queen's Gold EP by Ranger
Copic Marker YR23
Foam Dots, Crystal Rhinestones, Gold Leafing Pen, Gold Glitter

Join us next week when our challenge will be Monochromatic.
