Give Thanks with the Robin's Nest

Link
Have you started thinking about Thanksgiving yet? I think the planning is the funnest part! You know, looking for new recipes, thinking about table decor, and how about a fun invitation? That's what I've got to share with you today!

If you are sending invitations to many people, then you want to make a card that is not too time consuming, but will grab their attention. I cut the card base from the Dark Distressed Red paper using a large Spellbinders. My sentiment and the turkey are rub-ons from the Fall collection. I did fussy cut some of the sparkly leaves from the Autumn Leaf Paper, to add a little bit of dimension, but if you were making many of these, you might want to skip that step. The turkey rub-on was place on a die-cut from Distressed Honeycomb and embellished with some Dew Drops from Winter Retreat.

So what is your favorite thing to cook for Thanksgiving?

The Robin's Nest Teams Up with Viva Las VegaStamps

It's been a fun month at the Robin's Nest! We have been getting to play with some really fun stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps! I've made lots of Halloween projects this year, so I thought - who says that Halloween can't be pink and black? Now, I'm sure you are thinking that the Robin's Nest didn't happen to have their Boo Words paper in pink, and you're right! But with a little Taffy Pink Smooch and some fussy cutting, I had my sentiment ready for a girly Halloween.

Be sure and mark your calendars for October 31st - The Robin's Nest will be having a great blog hop with candy at every stop (and this candy won't even add any calories!)

Robin's Nest in Bloom

I love flowers any time of the year, and fall colors are some of my favorites. So here is a card perfect for this autumn season. The bold stamps that I used are from Wendy Vecchi, and were really fun to stamp on patterned papers from the Robin's Nest. Don't be afraid to alter your patterned papers - There's a whole new world waiting for you if you do!

Fair Fun!

What have you done for fun this summer? Have you gone to any amusement parks or fairs, or how about a great 4th of July Celebration? Well, if so, then pull out your pictures and get ready to scrap! I have to admit, the photo that I used is about 3 years old - but it was perfect for what I had in mind. The Fireworks paper looks absolutely spectacular for my Fair Fun layout. I used the new carnival release from CottageCutz dies - which you are going to love. I was actually able to use 5 different sets of dies on this page! The others are all so cute, I was wishing I could have fit more on the page!

Just Hangin' Out

I always look forward to the monthly sketch at the Beary Scrap - and this is another winner! LinkSince we are in full swing of summer, I used the Country Drive papers from Echo Park. I love how cheerful they are. Even my mini-alpha stickers that I used for the sentiment is from this collection. I inked the edges of the paper with Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet, which just matches perfectly. I paper pieced the Laundry Line with a die from CottageCutz. My finishing embellies were a lovely seam binding bow, and some metallic pink Dew Drops.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will play along with our sketch challenge, for your chance to win some Beary Scrap goodies!

Sparkly Poinsettia Card

I had these gorgeous glittery papers from the Robin's Nest, and thought that they would be perfect for a Christmas card. I die cut the Rebellious Red Glitter Cardstock. The main paper for my card is the Classic Glitter Swirl in the gold on black colorway. My stamp is from the Poinsettia Plate set from Chapel Road Stamps. I embossed the image with black embossing powder, and colored it with Copics. I added a little bit of Sunshine Yellow Flower Soft in the center of the flower. The yellow dew drops were the perfect accent to finish off this project. This was a very elegant card, that came together pretty quickly.

Inspiration from the closet

We've started a new challenge at the Beary Scrap, and I have to admit, this one was my idea. Look in your closet and find some inspiration for your project, from one of your favorite things to wear. This can be clothes, jewelry, accessories - you name it! If you can wear it, let it be your inspiration.

I love embellished jeans, so I added a ribbon of old denim, with a strip of paper, and Dew Drops over it. I adhered the denim with Scor-tape which held it perfectly. The papers are from Prima's Sweet Fairy line, (including the cute tickets that I cut from one of the pages.) The stamps/dies are from Prickley Pear.
