Gender Neutral Bird-Inspired Nursery

Here's a special baby nursery that is just right for a baby boy or baby girl! A bird-inspired nursery with bright colors of orange and teal make this a fun gender neutral modern baby room. Wall paint is Eddie Bauer Java at Lowes.

First time mom Taryn says, "There are a variety of ways to design a gender neutral nursery and birds are one theme that fits perfectly! I designed the room to be gender neutral because we didn't know what we were having until the big day! I chose a bird inspired theme and wanted to keep the style of the room on the more modern/contemporary side. I went with dark gray walls and pops of orange and teal.  I made all of the artwork in the room including the canvas wall art and the bird mobile. I love how the room turned out! It's inviting, completely one of a kind and something my daughter can grow with.

Meet my DIY bird mobile.  I handmade each of the birds using fabric I had in my collection along with a few new swatches I picked up at the local fabric store. After the birds were done, I attached them to a wreath I spray painted white.

The rocking chair was my big splurge for the nursery. Pottery Barn makes such comfy chairs, I couldn’t resist! We chose the rocker over the glider because this one came with chair legs, so down the road we can use the chair in different room. Brilliant idea PB!"

Birch branches with lights makes a great night light.

Baby Nursery: Girlie, Orange, Modern & Hip!

Stunning, bold baby nursery with modern furnishings makes this nursery one of my favorites. This sophisticated room certainly could be for an older child too! The room shares a crib and day bed. Michael Miller Disco Dot Flamingo fabric was used as the inspiration for the room. The crib is from Netto and the crib bedding is custom made. Check out all the awesome room pictures

Baby nursery designed by mom, "Visuale" of New York for her baby Bella. She also painted all the animal images. Nursery images from here. The day bed and dresser are from Ikea. The tree is a wall decal from an Etsy seller - as are also the wood butterflies. I'm not sure the color that was used in this baby nursery. The bathroom shown below was painted with Benjamin Moore Mandarin Orange. It looks very similar in color and is at least a starting point if you are looking for a bright orange color.

Classic boys room with a transportation theme. The rooms focal point is a pedal push car. Also, liking the hub caps hung as art above the beds. Paint colors are Sherwin-Williams - Red Bay (SW 6321), Iron Ore (SW 7069), Extra White (SW 7006). Image from here.

Recycled tires turned into stools or side table.

Industrial shelves are an inexpensive solution to shelving in a car or industrial theme room. I love the grease stains on the wall and all the hubcaps.

How awesome is this filling station motor oil dresser?

Painted dresser with real working headlights.  Love how talented this couple is.

Car themed room for an older child.

LOVING the cars repurposed into beds! This room (and the following 4 images) are from the V-8 hotel in Stuttgart, Germany. The rooms are designed to represent a gas station,  car wash, drive-in and garage. All images by Frank Hoppe.

Diamond Plate Wall Border can be purchased on rolls. Doesn't this add the perfect accent for a car themed room?

Have a lamp sitting around gathering dust? Restyle it! This car lamp is a quick and easy restyling project.

Tone on tone striped walls are a great background for hubcap wall art.
