UNITED COLORS OF BENETTON'S NEW FLAGSHIP STORE IN LONDON

Today. March 15th, Benetton raised the curtains on its new flagship store on Oxford Street. Informal, hi-tech spaces and a 'knitwear theatre' offers an ultimate brand experience that goes beyond the traditional idea of a shop

Large LED archways, a lounge area and touchscreen tables offering interactive content.
The 12-metre-high arches recall classical architecture and the innovative LED screen cladding  showcases interactive content curated by Fabrica, playing with colour textures, images and illustrations.

Designed entirely by Benetton retail design department and furnished with natural materials such as wood, iron and stone, the 1,500 square meter store goes beyond the traditional shop concept to offer an ultimate brand experience.

There is a 'knitwear theatre', where staff are on hand to present Benetton's vast knitwear collections. In the lounge area, customers can relax while reading books and design magazines. In addition, a series of touchscreen tables allows visitors to interact with the entire collection as well as with the brand's most significant contents.

Customers will be able to move fluidly across the three levels - dedicated to men's, women's and children's collections - thanks to a "loop" staircase that extends like a ribbon across the shop floors and leads to a series of scattered stations that replace traditional checkouts.

Located on the east side of Oxford Street, close to the new Tottenham Court Road station on the Elizabeth Line, the store is part of a rapidly developing area

MAX MARA LAUNCH RESORT 2015 COLLECTION‏

Titled ‘Concrete Jungle’ –the collection is  inspired by  the early 80’s in New York, when the worlds of music, art, performance and fashion collided, It was a cultural earthquake that started at street level and still rumbles.

Pieces include reversible double wrap coat with the easy slouch of a hoodie;  a shrug jacket in a teddy bear fabric woven from pure cashmere; a kangaroo skin skirt cut to imitate crocodile; and an ultra light unlined shearling cardigan coat. Accessories include dookie chains, messenger bags and street smart bucket hats in snake, pony and leopard.

The collection is transeasonal. As the chilly early months give way to spring, the palette graduates from New York greys and urban indigos to lush leafy greens, rust, saffron and white.

Ruby and Ed AW12 Collection - Campaign video 'Awakening'

Set in a forgotten world, we follow a young woman, lost in the wilderness of a snow storm. Roaming across a great industrial site filled with vast caverns of concrete, exposed brick and abandoned railways, searching for freedom.

She wears a Jet hooded fur coat draped over a soft sensual layered cloud skirt, her delicate hands covered with praline knit armwarmers, her feet bound by carbon suede ankle boots. Colours are dark and muted.

Omar Mansoor SS13 collection - 'Shore-ditch'

Omar Mansoor is more renowned for his glamorous and elegant evening wear, but for SS13 he has taken a walk on the edgier side and created a casual boho style daywear collection.

What is not different is the delicacy and femininity of his collection plus the attention to detail.

Here he concentrates on layering pieces of intricate lace work and fine knitwear.

Titled ‘Shore-Ditch’ , Mansoor  has looked to East London and its culture as his core stimulus.

The main colour palette is neutral  with shades of steely greys and denim blues, all given that vintage washed and faded look.

For those who love a brighter colour , there are also a few lighter sky blues and mellow yellows.

I love the fact that most layers can be separated and so worn individually to create more looks and your own unique style.  Can't wait for these to be in the stores.

Marc Cain AW12 collection

Marc Cain AW12 collection brings several inpirations and looks:

One inspiration of Marc Cain's AW12 collection is literally the  'foxy' country look with the sly fox sneaking in to the designs.
Here is the Lady Fox

Colours are warm and intense shades of cognac and spices
Fabrics soft cosy cord, velvet, wool and fur mixed with the cooler silk satins

Wonderland

Large motifs of forest setting look magical on silk dresses and skirts.

Wild Orchids

Bright block colours of orange,  pinks and cinnamon bring a glimpse of wildness to the otherwis refined elegance of the strucured and classic tailored look

Go East

Inspired by the relaxed and carefree look of the 70s.  Floral silk blouses, curly lamb fur on unconstructed waistcoats and jackets.

Vanilla Sky

Here is more about textures as soft smooth silk team with knits and fake furs. The colour palette stays neutral with soft powdery shades of cream and nude

Checkie O

Smart Ladylike look with simple dresses, and boxy shapes from the swinging 60s.  A flash of blue breaks up the black and grey palette whilst geometric dots and large scale flower prints bring a touch of softness.
