Card Sketch #22

Tuesday, July 3, 2012

We have a birthday wish for one of our fabulous designers....

Happy Birthday Sassy!! Hope you have a wonderful day!

We're back again with another beautiful sketch.  This time, it was created by Heather:

Don't you just love it?

Check out the Design Team's work:

Beautiful, aren't they?  Don't forget to stop by their blogs for more information on the cards - and maybe leave them a little love too!

We would like to welcome back Floppy Latte Digital Designs as our sponsor for this challenge.

Hi! Im Jessica or Floppy Latte Designs – the name comes from my significant other, Mark. He so thoughtfully purchased me an espresso machine for Christmas, and since he could not remember all the different coffee drinks that I crank out, he calls everything that comes out of the machine “Floppy Lattes”, I thought to myself, Self…that is such a catchy name, you should use it! And thus the name, Floppy Latte Designs was born. I had been doing a bit of designing under my real name, Jessica, but the new name just sounded sooooo fun! So, all the credit goes to Mark, for his humor and great ideas!  I design digital stamps and papers, and also rework old woodcuts and drawings and put them into digital stamp form.  My fav right now is flowers, but Floppy Latte's Digital Designs offers a bit of something for everyone!  I do hope you will visit me at www.floppylattedesigns.com/catalog and have a look around!

They are offering a $10 gift voucher good for stamps and paperpacks.

We are looking forward to seeing your beautiful creations!

Show Me Sunday by Martina!

Sunday, July 1, 2012

Hello everybody!
Today is my turn to do tutorial and I decided to show you how you can make beaded embellishments . I chose to make a flower but you can make other cute embellies - like butterflies, bugs etc.
You will need:
seed beads
wire
scissors
glue
any other small embellishments you want to add to your project  (I have a small flower to use in the centre of my finished beaded flower)

1. Cut a piece of wire and string the beads on it, I cut fairly big piece of wire and used that for two flowers in the end.

 2. When you have quite a few beads on the wire start shaping the wire in the desired shape, here I am shaping it into flower petal shape.

3. Continue same way to shape desired amount of petals, here I am shaping 5 petals.

When you have 4 petals you could make this into butterfly, instead of finishing the last petal you could create a body with the same beads or different colour beads.

4. When you have 5 petals you will need to finish the centre of the flower, you have few ways to do this, here I just shaped remaining beads (you can add beads anytime to the wire) into a spiral which created really pretty centre.

Here is the flower used on a card.

And here is another flower where I used bought flower as a centre, in this case you need to use the glue to attach the flower to the centre.

And it's that easy! I had a lot of fun playing with the wire and beads. Hope you like it and give it a try.
Have a great day and fun crafting.

Martina

Then after needing sentiments that she couldn't find anywhere, she decided to fill the niche in the clear stamp market she felt was missing.  Read more about this amazing young lady and her business here.
