Who farted?
This is not a back to school post, an Indi goes to high school post, or a Pepper's first day as a preppy post. Nope, I'm much too fragile for that.
This is not an end of a twelve year with small girls at home era post either.
I think I've already cried enough for one morning.
This is not even a post where I talk about what I want to do with my time now that I have some. Right now I have no idea. All I want to do is go back to bed and watch episodes of Breaking Bad. It's a shame we haven't got enough water in the tanks for me to have a long hot shower.
I have no idea what this post is. I feel lost and a bit empty. I guess I'm blogging because it felt like a bit of a comforting thing to do. Load photos, type text, publish.
I think I'll leave you with these words of wisdom my crew gave Miss Pepper on her first day of school;
Farmer Bren - Be nice to others and they will be nice to you.
Miss Indi - Shine bright like a diamond.
Miss Jazzy - If you fart, don't let anyone know it was you.
Me - Have fun.
I hope you and your gang have loads of fun too.
I think I'm going to go and get my hands dirty in the garden.
Bye! xx
ps. I don't know what's with the caravan tees. I printed them the other day when I should have been working on my book. They're in theme but I'm not sure how I'll use them. Maybe I need to reopen my shop. Hmmmmmmmm so much to think about.

I do read every single comment you leave and appreciate it very much, but I should let you know that I can be a wee bit on the useless side when replying to comments, that's just me, everyday life sometimes gets in the way....so I'll apologise now, just in case.

Oh Michelle, I wish!! xx
DeleteI love the tees, we've just bought a caravan, an old girl who needs some tlc. I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to most, decorating her or the adventures we will have. My kiddos started back yesterday, I felt empty and lost but I'm keeping busy. only 30 more mins then they're home again! You'll find a rhythm... Oh and you should definitely put thise tees in your shop :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie. And I felt exactly the same about doing our old girl up before our big trip. Like being a little kid in a cubby house all over again. Happy travels.
DeleteOh no Kate it is hard without little ones at home anymore, take care and keep busy. Hugs to you. xx P.S. Love Jazzy wise words of advice. She sounds like a fun little one like my Miss 9. I hope everyones day goes well.
ReplyDeleteSending you a virtual ((hug))
ReplyDeleteGood advice, especially the one about farting. Your post made me feel melancholy- and my boy isn't even in kinder yet. It's great to have a good sense of humour about it. And your caravans looks great. I think you should put them in your shop x
ReplyDeleteI hope you get through the day Kate, getting out in the garden is always a good idea...I love your t-shirts :)
ReplyDeleteTransition is hard isn't it. Our kiddies are growing up but we have to change too. I think mummies need a bit of time for this. We are not designed for sudden changes. The kiddies will be fine and we will be fine, we just have to be kind to ourselves while we work through it.
ReplyDeleteLove the tee shirts by the way. Awesome. I think I first started reading your blog when you were printing tee shirts. Makes me feel nostalgic to see them.
Change. Always a challenge until it becomes habit. I'd do what you're doing. Cry then potter in the garden. xx
ReplyDeleteJust lots of love to you Kate. x
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your feeling blue...I think the "buzz" of the X-mas/NY festivities is leaving us all a bit blah as it's all "back to reality". Go for a nice walk in that beautiful countryside you live in...you're very lucky indeed! Give a chicken a cuddle for me.
ReplyDeleteLove the caravans. It is hard and emotional, Evie starts full time next week, hard for me but exiting for her.
ReplyDeletemy baby went to school last year - and to be honest, it took me a whole term to come to "terms" with it. i say go back to bed and watch breaking bad.

Love to you Kate x
ReplyDeleteWow Kate those tees look fantastic! Just think of all the baking, writing, crafting you can do while the girls are all at school, and then you will be free to play with them and engage in their day once they are all home. I love Miss Jazzy's advice for Pepper, hilarious and true!
ReplyDeleteNot Breaking Bad Kate. Too much. Today calls for Girls, definitely. xxxx
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Rachael, so true!!
DeleteWe did Parenthood but we so should have done Girls. xx
Hysterical advice on the farting! Love the tees.
ReplyDeleteTee's in shop and tea in the pot! How many of us mum's are feelin a bit fragile today...I'm might be adding a wee tipple to my tea xx
ReplyDelete'shine bright like a diamond' - that is pure genius!! LOVE IT! hope Pepper settled well, no doubt she'll love life's challenges. Love the tee's too...open that shop lovley lady and make yourself a cuppa and marvel and 12 years of wonder-ness x
ReplyDeleteThose tee shirts are just too cute! Mums all over the country are reaching for kleenex as the back to school start begins - I love the words of advice, they are gems!
ReplyDeleteI'd buy one of those tees; in fact I'd buy three. xK
ReplyDeleteKate, your Tee's are fabulous! I'd put an order in straight away for my gang to remind us of the wonderful memories we had last year. Let us know when they are available in your shop :-) Hope it all went well today, I'll be in the same boat next week! Take care. Mel x
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute t-shirts! I hope you got to do at least one of those things you really wanted to do...to make your day easier... much love xx
ReplyDeletebig love to you Kate xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh, and I think I felt exactly like you do today when my two big girls were in school. Nothing wrong with a cuppa, telly in bed, and bit of aimlessness!
ReplyDeleteoh, and it wasn't me....
I agree with Jo, try do nothing for a bit then try something completely new (and open that flippin shop). X
ReplyDeleteIt's impressive that you are getting ideas from this piece of writing as well as from our discussion made at this time.

Oh, Jazzy, what a classic! Awesome advice from a smart girl!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel!!!!! My baby started prep today too :( :( No more babies after 8 years of devoting my life to them!!
ReplyDeleteIt's strange to think it but many mums look forward to school days and resent the holidays! Still, that isn't some of us. You will be ok. I hate change but I still adapt much better than I fear. When the time comes, there is no choice but to get on with it, and you will do that too and come to like your new stage of being as well. Your girls will still share with you, you'll still be their mum - for always and not just when they are children. It will all be ok. Give yourself some time.
ReplyDeleteOh I think this is very much a "the kids went to school today" post. I recognize it clearly. I made a similar post the day my oldest started high school and my youngest (there are none in between) started kindergarten. After 14 years of at least one child at home, the house was empty. One or the other please but really, did we have to do both on the same day? Rips your heart out, twists it, and puts it back not ever to be quite the same.
ReplyDeleteMy baby is a 19 year old college junior now. Time passes too fast.
This website truly has all the information I wanted concerning this subject and didn't know who to ask.

They grow up so darn fast! I miss having littlies at home, but now one of my littlies is a teenage girl and sometimes I am quite happy to see her off in the mornings! Lol.

What great advice you all gave to your little one on her first day. I hope it was a beautiful day for them and I hope that you are going ok too. I am at the other end ... my first one about to start so really valued your words of wisdom over on Jodi's blog. Thank you. Best wishes for the coming week ... Ally
ReplyDeleteI remember when my youngest went to school - so many fears and worries but you know what - he loves being there, and loves his own growing knowledge and independence. Then the oldest went to high school and that opened another can of worms all together last year!!!
ReplyDeleteA little bit of our hearts go with them when they start - and thats what makes them who they are so be proud that your gorgeous girls are so lovely and talented. You two have done and will continue to do an amazing job
Love Jazzy's wise words!
ReplyDeletelove and best wishes to you, Kate xo
Kate, Miss Jazzy's advice is gold, gave me a great chuckle.
ReplyDeleteA new chapter awaits, but there is no hurry to jump into it... *breathe*

ReplyDeleteThose t-shirts are very cool...and thank you for being you and sharing of your sad times as well as the good. They help me relate to you because, sheesh, we all have those times. Wishing you magic in the mundane and much joy to mix in with the sad. These are changing times huh?!
ReplyDeletePlease sell those shirts!! We love our pop top, and I would love to wear one!!! Thanks!! Haha!!
ReplyDeletehave you got one of those shirts by any chance that would fit a 6 year old girl? we are renovating an old caravan for a cubby house and are all loving our caravan themes like crazy...
ReplyDeleteI'd buy one of those gorgeous T-shirts! Please put them in your shop!!
