TTM Success - Dan Briggs

Some older cards were added to the autograph album when this TTM success came in from  Dan Briggs.  The above 1980 Topps has the good yellow and brown Padres uniform.  It's pleasingly ugly.
I also got a 1979 Topps and a 1982 Topps signed.

Briggs (b. 1952) played in the majors from 1975 to 1979 and in 1981 and 1982 for the Angels, Indians, Padres, Expos and Cubs.   He had 134 hits, 12 home runs and a .195 batting average.

I mailed to Briggs on November 27 and got the cards back on December 9 for a 12-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Larry Harlow

Another 1991 Crown Orioles card was signed TTM recently when I got this one back from Larry Harlow.  I've tried to get a few of these in the mail lately, and have seen a few come back.
I had a few other Harlow cards put aside to send, so I got a good many out.  Above are: 1979 Topps, 1980 Topps and 1982 Topps.

I mailed to Harlow on October 15 and got the cards back on October 29 for a 14-day TAT.

TTM Success - Rickey Keeton

Here's a 1982 Topps that I got back signed TTM from Rickey Keeton.  It's not my favorite set, but the card looks good.  The fake signature onnthe card kind of clashes with the real auto, but it is a pretty accurate signature.

Keeton (b. 1957) played in the majors in 1980 and 1981 for the Brewers.  He had a record of 3-2 with 17 strike outs and a 4.95 ERA.

I mailed to Keeton on August 26 and got the card back on September 19, for a 24-day TAT.

TTM Success - Ron Gardenhire

When these cards came back signed from Ron Gardenhire, I had thought I had gotten him previously.  It turns out, no, these were the only cards I had sent him.  They are now signed, and it looks like I don't have anything else out to him.   I got his 1982 Topps rookie card done.  I may have to finish the card off by taking advantage of some private signings at some point.
I also got a 1983 Donruss, 2004 Topps and a 2006 Topps signed.  All of them turned out well.

Gardenhire (b. 1957) played in the majors from 1981 to 1985 for the Mets.  He had 165 hits, 4 home runs and a .232 batting average.

He managed the Twins from 2002 to 2014, to a record of 1,068-1,039 and the Tigers from 2018 to 2020 to a record of 132-241.  His overall managerial record was 1,200-1,280 (.484 win %).  He was the AL Manager of the Year in 2010.  He finished second five times (2003, 2004, 2006 2008 and 2009).

I mailed to Gardenhire on March 31, 2022, and got the cards back today (April 8, 2024), for a 739-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Tom Burgmeier

The last time I sent to Tom Burgmeier TTM, I only had two of his cards.  Since then, I got a lot more in my hoard and was able to send off these five, which included the above 1972 Topps.  I love how the 72s look when signed.
I also got his 1973, 1978, 1982 and 1973 Topps signed. This helped me move several cards out of the boxes.

I mailed to Burgmeier on January 3 and got the cards back on March 29, for an 86-day TAT.

TTM Success - Junior Kennedy

This past week was horrible for incoming mail.  I have a ton of TTM requests out in the world, and for whatever reason, not many have been coming back lately.  The last one to come in this week was of Junior Kennedy.  He signed 5 cards for me, including the above 1980 Topps.  His signature is nice, but small.
He also signed a 1979, 1971, 1982 and 1983 Topps.  All of them look great.

Kennedy (b. 1950) played in the majors in 1974 and from 1978 to 1983 for the Reds and Cubs.  He had 258 hits, 4 home runs and a .248 batting average.

I mailed to Kennedy on January 3 and got the cards back on January 17, for a 14-day TAT.

Another TTM Success From Gary Lavelle

When I sent this 1982 Topps of Gary Lavelle to him TTM, I didn't check to see if I had gotten him before.  I had, back in 2018, on 6 cards.  That included a 1982 Topps.  Oh well, now I have another one.

I mailed to Lavelle on November 29 and got the card back on December 13, for a 14-day TAT.

October 22, 2023, Chantilly Show Graphing Recap

What a weekend.  My good friend, Jesse, and I met up with another close friend, Ryan this weekend.  The three of us, along with Ryan's nephew Blayke, checked out the Chantilly show on Sunday.  I wanted to finish of the 1982 Topps Baltimore Orioles Future Stars card that I had already gotten signed TTM by Jeff Schneider and Bob Bonner.  That left Cal to get taken care of, which I finally aas able to do.

Cal commented on the card in that I got Schneider and Bonner, which was cool.  He shook my and Jesse's hands.  He's always friendly, and I was happy to pay the fee to see Cal again.

I paid Bill's premium fee to get the "Rick Face" card signed, finally.  It took some digging in some Orioles boxes to find the card, but I located it and got it added to the autograph album.

Bill was super friendly and happily posed for the picture.  He commented on my Oklahoma Cielo Azul hat.  I just checked, ND I wore the same hat last year and I recall that Bill commented on it then, too.
The Sunday autograph lineup wasn't terribly impressive for me, but I saw that Steve Carlton was going to be there.  I decided that I'd pay his fee and get him on a card to add to my album.  He signs TTM for a fee, but I wanted to meet him.
Carlton was nice.  He was pretty soft-spoken and it was hard to hear him at points. Jesse and I were nervous when we were lining up for this picture.  Carlton told us to calm down, line the shot up properly and thanked us for coming.  It was really nice of him to not push us along and ensure that we got a good photo.

Jair Jurrjens was signing in the Forward Area, so I got two cards of his signed for his fee.  I got a 2010 Topps Chrome and a 2011 Topps signed.  Jurrjens has an awesome signature.

Jurrjens was really nice.  I'm glad that I read the lineup thoroughly and saw that he would be there.

I was on a pretty tight budget, but i was still able to find some cool stuff.  I worked on my 1955 Bowman set just a bit and also found some cool vintage cards to send TTM.  We'll see if I can get them in.

Thanks Ryan, Blayke and Jesse for the great time and thanks Jesse for keeping our ride ti and from Ryan's house interesting and the photo ops.

TTM Success - Fred Breining

This mugshot of Fred Breining aside, I was happy to add a few 80s cards of the former pitcher to my autograph album recently.  I got these three cards back signed TTM.  The above 1985 Topps is a bit curious to me; the card looks airbrushed, and could have been taken the same time as Breining's portrait shot on the inset of the below 1983 Topps.  It looks like the same stadium in the background.  I believe they took an alternate shot from that photo session and airbrushed it in order to make the 1985 Topps card.  I could be wrong, but that's my theory.
Breining (b. 1955) played in the majors from 1980 to 1984 for the Giants and Expos.  He had a record of 27-20 with 260 strike outs and a 3.34 ERA.  Breining was traded to the Expos on February 27, 1984, along with Max Venable, for Al Oliver and a player to be named later.  That player is my current insurance rep, Andy McGaffigan.

I mailed to Breining on October 27 and got the cards back on December 5, for a 39-day TAT.

TTM Success - Joe Pettini

Pretty rockin' stache that Joe Pettini has on this 1982 Topps that I got back signed TTM.  I enjoy the 70s and 80s cards that show some of the hairstyles, facial hair and throwback uniforms.  This 1982 Topps is a pretty nice card.
I also got this 1983 Topps signed.  It turned out nicely as well.

Pettini (b. 1955) played in the majors from 1980 to 1983 for the Giants.  He had 70 hits, 1 home run and a .203 batting average.

I mailed to Pettini on September 19 and got the cards back on December 3, for a 75-day TAT.

TTM Success - Chuck Rainey

Here are a couple cards that came back signed recently from Chuck Rainey.  The above 1982 Topps came out well, as did the below 1983 Donruss.
Rainey (b. 1954) played in the majors from 1979 to 198 for the Red Sox, Cubs and A's.  He had a record of 43-35 with 300 strike outs and a 4.50 ERA.

I mailed to Rainey on November 15 and got the cards back on November 26, for an 11-day TAT.

TTM Success - Bob Bonner

A small project started when I found this 1982 Topps Baltimore Orioles Future Stars card at the Chantilly show for $25.  I had heard that the card can be completed, so I sent it TTM to Jeff Schneider first, then off to Bob Bonner.  Now I have to wait for another signing with Cal and I can have this completed.
I also pulled the other Bonner cards that I had in m boxes, starting with the above 1991 Crown Orioles card.
I also had a 1982 Donruss and a 1983 Fleer; both turned out nicely.  I had forgotten I had the Fleer, so it was a nice surprise when I came across it in the box.

Bonner (b. 1956) played in the majors from 1980 to 1983 for the Orioles.  He had 21 hits, 0 home runs and a .194 batting average.

I mailed to Bonner on November 8 and got the cards back on November 19, for an 11-day TAT.

TTM Success - Chris Welsh

This TTM request had been out to Chris Welsh for so long, I went ahead and had a friend of mine get me a signed 1987 Topps from Reds Fest a while after I sent these cards out.  I had forgotten about these, until they finally came in earlier this month.  I was glad to finally get these cards back, and it definitely was a pleasant surprise.  The above 1983 Fleer turned out great.  I don't have very many of this year of Fleer in my autograph album.
He also sent back a 1982, 1986 and a 1987 Topps.  Since I already had a signed 87 in my set, I'll just file this one in my autograph album.

Welsh (b. 1955) played in the majors from 1981 to 1983 and 1985 to 1986 for the Padres, Expos, Rangers and Reds.  He had a record of 22-31 with 192 strike outs and a 4.45 ERA.

I mailed to Welsh on May 4, 2017, and got the cards back on November 3, 2022, for a 2,009-day TAT.  Not my longest wait, but definitely a long one.

TTM Success - Reggie Cleveland

These cards of Reggie Cleveland sat in my to be TTMed box for a couple years since I was waiting to send out sparingly to guys who charge.  I had a little extra money, so I figured I would pull from that row, and fell upon Cleveland.  I figured it would be a good time to get these cards done, and at his price, I could send out several.

The above 1972 Topps turned out great.  I have quite a few signed 72s in my album, and this one will fit right in.
I also sent off a 1974 Topps, 1974 Topps Traded, 1982 Topps and a 1982 Donruss.  All of these look really nice, as well.

Cleveland (b. 1948) played in the majors from 1969 to 1981 for the Cardinals, Red Sox, Rangers and Brewers.  He had a career record of 105-106 with 930 strike outs and a 4.01 ERA.

I mailed to Cleveland on September 19 and got the cards back on September 28, for a 9-day TAT.  I paid his fee of $2.00/card.

2022 National Free Signer - Bill Madlock

Bill Madlock was another of the free VIP signers who I was able to get at the National, but had already gotten in the past.  Thankfully, I had a bunch of Madlock's cards, still, so I added some nice early 80s to my autograph album.  The above 1981 Topps turned out really well.  I always enjoy this set, and was glad that I had it among the few loose 81s I still have left.
I also added a 1982 Topps and a 1983 Topps to the album, since I ended up with three vouchers for Madlock.

He was pretty nice, and I should have posed for a selfie, but I was in a rush to get everything signed that I had with me, so I didn't pose with Madlock.

TTM Success - Jamie Easterly

Some late 70s and early 80s cards were added to my autograph album when I got his TTM success back from Jamie Easterly.  The above 1978 Topps turned out great.
I also got a 1979 Topps, 1982 Topps, 1983 Topps and a 1986 Topps signed by Easterly.

Easterly (b. 1953) played in the majors from 1974 to 1979 and 1981 to 1987 for the Braves, Brewers and Indians.  He had a career record of 23-33 with 350 strike outs and a 4.62 ERA.

TTM Success - Paul Moskau

Some older cards came back signed when I got this TTM success in from Paul Moskau.  I was glad to add another 1981 Topps to my album with the card above.  1981 is a set that I have a ton of in my album, but that's ok; I don't mind adding more.
I also got a 1979, 1980 and 1982 Topps signed by Moskau.

Moskau (b. 1953) played in the majors from 1977 to 1983 for the Reds, Pirates and Cubs.  He had a record of 32-27 with 374 strike outs and a 4.22 ERA.

I mailed to Moskau on April 30, 2021, and got the cards back on January 30, 2021, for a 275-day TAT.

I also got a 1979 and a 1980 Topps signed.

Augustine (b. 1952) played in the majors from 1975 to 1984 for the Brewers. He had a record of 55-59 with 348 strike outs and a 4.23 ERA.

I mailed to Augustine on December 22 and got the cards back on January 14, for a 23-day TAT.

TTM Success - Bob Lacey

Here are a couple early 1980s cards I was able to get signed TTM from Bob Lacey.  The above card is a 1980 Topps with some damage at the top from my cat, who thought it would be a good idea to get on my card box and scratch at the cards.  Thanks a lot, Grover.
The above 1982 Topps turned out pretty well., even though he signed across his face.

Lacey (b. 1953) played in the majors from 1977 to 1981 and 1983 to 1984 for the A's, Indians, Rsngers, Angels nd Giants.  He had a career record of 20-29 with 251 strike outs and a 3.67 ERA.

I mailed to Lacey on December 15 and got the cards back on December 26, for an 11-day TAT.

TTM Success - Gary Gray

I added a few 80s cards to my album with this TTM success from Gary Gray.  The above 1981 Topps turned out really well, as most 81s tend to do.
Gray also signed my 1982 and 1983 Topps cards.  Both of them look great, as well.

Gray (b. 1952) played in the majors from 1977 to 1982 for the Rangers, Indians and Mariners.  He had 150 hits, 24 home runs and a .240 batting average.

I mailed to Gray on November 19 and got the cards back on December 16, for a 27-day TAT.
