Thanksgiving/Fall Candles

Need a hostess gift that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg? Here's a cute idea! I bought these candles on sale at Kohls. Now candles alone are a great gift, but why not jazz them up a little. With a couple sheets of paper, some ribbon and a couple embellishments you've created a cute and special gift.

Start by measuring the height of your candle and trim your paper to leave about a 1/2 inch of the candle showing on both the top and bottom. Cut your second piece of paper approximately 1/2 inch shorter than your first piece. Attach your smaller piece to your larger piece and wrap around your candle. You may need to trim before attaching to your candle depending on your candles circumference.  Wrap the candle with ribbon, raffia, and add some embellishments (here I used some leaf stickers by Martha Stewart and some small fall charms, one of which came with the candle!).  You can change your paper and embellishments to suite the holiday or the occasion.

I think it's a nice way to thank your host or hostess for their hospitality!
