Friday Focus: Flourishes Favorites

Honestly, when I said, "Let's do a Friday Focus on our Flourishes favorites" I didn't realize how difficult it would be. Sounded easy enough, as I have so many favorites... but how do I choose which favorite for my focus? Or... how many favorites can I fit on one card? As I started working, things became clear -- I rarely make any card without using at least a few of my Flourishes favorites.

Hi, stampers! It's me, Leslie, playing favorites today. Here's my card:

And these are the favorites I used to put it all together:

Florals -- A Year in Flowers, any one of the three sets, is a recent favorite. These Cyclamen are from Set 3. Flourishes offers a bountiful garden of amazing botanicals... and it's okay to pick these flowers!

Designer paper -- BasicGrey, Memory Box, Cosmo Cricket, 7 Gypsies... The scaled down patterns of the 6x6 pads are well suited to cards and smaller projects, and they're easy to store on a shelf. One pad guarantees perfect color matches and coordinating patterns.

Spellbinders -- I want them all, really. Nestabilities, Frameabilities, Shapeabilities, Borderabilities, Pierceabilities... Oh, my goodness! However did I manage without them?

Silk ribbon -- Let me just sink into a bed of these decadent silks and wrap myself up in their luscious folds!

Pearls -- Got pearls? Got elegance! These days I love anything self adhesive for those easy finishing touches.

I also used watercolor paper and Palette Burnt Umber so I could paint my image with dye-based inks. Did you know Palette inks are waterproof? I even slipped a little of Flourishes Classic White cardstock in there so I'd have a nice surface for stamping the script. That's quite a few favorites on one card!

A few of the Flourishes girls are sharing their favorites today, too. Why not pay them a visit?

Laura

Thanks for your time today! Happy stamping!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC30)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC30)!!! Thanks so much to all of you who participated in last week's color combo challenge! Keep reading to find out who won! Also, we finally have Mr. Linky!!!

The Friends of Flourishes blog design team are bringing you exciting and different challenges each week. Everyone can PLAY and anyone can WIN! Make sure you continue reading to find out how.

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC30)! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have a guest challenge host this week. Our challenge host is Liz Williams(lazylizard). Thanks so much, Liz for hosting a challenge with us. Liz is challenging us to use pearls on our cards. Whether you want to use pearlized papers, pearlx, pearl paints, halfback pearls, actual pearl beads, or a combination of anything pearl, whichever you choose to use, we would love to see what you create.

Let's go see what the blog design team created for you using pearls this week.

Up first this week is our challenge host, Liz Williams. Liz is using Sweet Peas and Lace and Trims stamp sets. Liz stamped an edge border using one of the images in the lace and trims set. She stamped the sweet pea and colored with copic markers. For her challenge, she created a pearl frame on one of the spellbinders scalloped circle layers. She added a double ribbon with bow to complete her beautiful card. Wonderfully done, Liz!!! Beautiful card!!!

Next up is Silke Ledlow . Silke is using the newly released Gerbera Daisies stamp set. Silke is using the Flourishes classic white cardstock. Silke colored the gerbera daisies using the Flourishes Copic Color Collections in Tea Rose, Hollyhock, and Fields. Silke colored and cut out one of the butterflies that come in this set. She added silver pearl detailing as well as some pink shimmerz. Beautifully done, Silke!!!

Up next is Betty Wright. For my card, I am using Flourishes newly released Gerbera Daisies set. I am using Flourishes classic white cardstock. This cardstock is wonderful for coloring with copics. I am using Flourishes Copic Color Collection in Dusty Rose, Daffodil, Tiger Lily, Fields, and Evergreen. For the pearl challenge, I added a few pearls to the opposite corners that I colored to coordinate using markers. I also added a few to the bottom of the main image.

Cindy Haffner is up next. Cindy is using the newly released Figs and Pomegranate stamp set. Cindy is using Flourishes classic white cardstock. She colored the pomegranates with Flourishes Copic Color Collections in Dusty Rose, Poppy, and Spring Greens. Cindy layered different shaped nestabilities and added touches of halfback pearls. Cindy is also using some pearlized red cardstock for added visual effect. Beautifully done, Cindy!!!

Last up this week is Kimberly Crawford. Kimberly is using the Vintage Wallpaper background stamp set. She stamped the image and added copic altered pearls for an added touch of contrast. She finished the look with a pop of dark pink ribbon. Lovely card, Kim!
