A Walk In The Woods

I am back.. Sometimes my posts are far and few between. I often struggle with what to write. Today was such a perfect fall day I had to go for a walk in the woods. DH and I would come up to our land before we built our home just to enjoy the wooded area. It seems since we have been here we find less time to do so. As I was sitting in the kitchen late morning the sun was shining through the path calling me. I grabbed my camera and put on my shoes and off I went...... Come walk with me.
The dirt area in the bottom left corner will lead us there.

As I entered the warm sun was coming directly through the trees. The ground is now covered with leaves and acorns. This seems to be a plentiful year for the acorns. The wildlife will not have to look far to find food until the snow arrives.

The colors of the leaves are past their peak at this point, but still so lovely when you are surrounded by them. I love how they gather around the rock walls.

I ventured off the path to the wet areas plowing through the mountain laurel and stepping over rocks. I lost my balance and reached for a tree. As soon as I reached it started to move. It was ready to go any minute and with my help down it went.

On to the streams. The reflection of the leaves in the very cold water spilling over tree limbs and rocks is so pretty. I could sit for hours and listen to the water run. So peaceful............

My feet are wet at this point, but who can resist stepping through the stream to explore the other side. Time to head back.

Hope you enjoyed the short version of my walk. I do have some knitting to share too.
I am working on another Grow With Me Sweater. This one is being knit with Bendigo Wool. I love those very large skeins. The bottom is done and almost one sleeve.

I knitted 2 pumpkin hats. Both of them have been given as gifts.

One last flower for the season. I have waited for 2 years for this one Clematis vine to bloom. I had given up on this year as August approached. This one is labeled as an early bloomer..... In September I noticed a surprise bloom. Now that it is the end of October and we have had cold nights, some snow, this plant is blooming. Amazing.

Until next time.................
