Designer Highlight: Julie Schmehl

One more week until our Sketchapalooza 12 class begins! The last designer I will be highlighting for this class is Julie Schmehl. We are thrilled to have her back to deign for this class. Her fresh, quirky style is always filled with fun surprises and she has a personality to match. So fun! You can read more about Julie HERE from her first Feeling Scrappy highlight.

Below are a few pages she made during our last Sketchapalooza class. Be sure to stop by Facebook today for another cute layout and for a hint at an upcoming class special!

Hope you will join us next Monday for another fun class!

We are in the middle of our second week of Sketchapalooza 10 and the gallery is filling up with beautiful pages! Today, I am sharing a few traditional (paper!) layouts that caught my eye :)

Loved this birthday page by Nichole Christian the colors work so well together!

Julie Schemehl shared this totally fun double page layout, hand-cut borders between photos? Fab!

Who can resist this sweet photo and title to go with it by Erin Lyttle?

Be sure to check our Facebook Page where we are featuring a digital layout by Pam McEwen :)

FS Designers: Amanda Bay

The newest member of our design team is Amanda Bay. I am super excited to be working with her! I was impressed not only by Amanda's creative layouts but by the kind spirit that she exudes and I have no doubt you will be too! Below is a little more about Amanda in her own words.

Amanda Bay

"I created my first scrapbook at the tender age of 5, carefully using Elmer's glue, tape, pictures, magazines, and a trash bag to create a masterpiece. Almost 35 years later, I am still creating scrapbook art one page at a time. I was a happy and successful Creative Memories Sr. Consultant for 8 years before the pull of all things blingy, bumpy, lumpy, textured and more became too great. I am a hybrid scrapper using both traditional and digital techniques. I use many mediums in my scrapbooking and while still loving CM, I use many other brands as well. Digitally I have used SBC for several years and most recently added PSE10 to my skill set. I enjoy learning new techniques and trying new new things while also holding on to the basic tradition of the art we know as scrapbooking. I have been married for 12 years and have two awesome daughters and a dog named Benji. When not scrapbooking I am a stay at home mom, who rarely stays at home! I love to read, write, draw, paint, and well basically try my hand at all things creative. I am very excited for this opportunity and look forward to joining the Feeling Scrappy team of amazing designers."

Here are a few of Amanda's recent layouts:

We hope you will join us for Sketchapalooza 8 to see more of Amanda's work!

FS Designer: Tracy Kosofsky

Time to meet our next designer. I am sure many of our readers know Tracy well. :) She is super talented and we are so thankful to have her on our team. Tracy not only provides beautiful sample pages to inspire our students but also designs the Photoshop elements digital templates for all of our sketches. She has come up with some amazing sketches for our next class - Sketchapalooza 8. For those of you that don't know Tracy, here is a bit about her in her own words:

Tracy Kosofsky

"After moving around the country since getting married to my wonderful DH, Adam, in 1998, we settled in central Pennsylvania in early 2010 and we're here to stay! We have a diva-ish 8 year old daughter and a devil-ish 4 year old son, and when I'm not at my full-time job as a health care executive or indulging in my scrapbooking passion, you can usually find me enjoying my kids' activities, reading, baking, and either planning for or recovering from our most recent travels. I've been scrapbooking since 2000 and have been mostly digi since 2009, although I still enjoy getting my hands dirty with "real" mini albums, cards and other paper crafts."

Here are a few of Tracy's recent layouts. Pretty awesome huh?!

Thanks for visiting!

I have been lucky enough to participate in all of Feeling Scrappy's Sketchapalooza classes to date. I can't begin to tell you how inspiring the class is. I personally accomplish so much during the class! During this self-paced class you will receive 5 sketches a week for 4 weeks. Yes, that is a total of 20 sketches. Not only do you get those sketches in a PDF file at the end of the class but you can also download layered templates (PS of PSE) of the sketches for digital layouts! The best of both worlds! This is in a private forum with tons of support from the design team and the participants! The private gallery fills with amazing and inspiring interpretations of the sketches. There will be challenges, games and prizes as well. All that for only $25!

I'm so excited for the Sketchapalooza 6 class to start in May! Currently Jayne, Lee, Tracy and I are all busy working behind the scenes to make this class the best yet. Be sure to sign up if you haven't done so already!

I thought I would share with you some of the layouts I have created during Sketchapalooza 1-5 .

Looking for WARMTH!

I don't know about you, but I've been cold for far too long and I'm tired of winter. Though in my part of the world we haven't had much snow, it's been drab and I'm ready for summer! So, for a bright spot in your day, here are some summer layouts from last year to warm you - and if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, perhaps inspire you:

I had to add four layouts so all of my kids are represented :)

And, a bonus: after all, what colour can warm you more than a dose of YELLOW:

This last layout is based on a sketch from Sketchapalooza 5 held last fall right here at Feeling Scrappy. Have you signed up for Sketchapallooza 6? If not, what're you waiting for? Click here and join me, Becky and Jayne in all the fun! Don't miss out, sign up today! The course starts May 3rd and runs for four weeks - mark us in your plans for spring :)

Enjoy your day!

Holiday Traditions

Have you documented your family holiday traditions? Here are a couple of pages from the DT about our traditions.
This one, by me, is about baking our gingerbread cookies each year.

Here's one from Stacey Curry about one of their traditions.

Happy Friday!!
