Birthday Card Series #2

Hi Everyone,

So here is card #2 in my Birthday Series.  For this card I chose another Melonheadz stamp and paired it with the Basic Grey Oliver collection.  This is how the card turned out.

I decided to go with a more mascuine birthday card since, it seems, I never have enough of them. I also chose to use an MFT (My Favorite Things) sketch for the layout of the card.

I have found that masculine cards tend to be very simple in design and the for this card, the layout and paper line worked perfectly.

I colored him up using my Copic markers and struggled not to put and glitter on the package.  A difficult feat, trust me.  But in the end he looks really cut without any glitter.  I backed him on kraft card stock and that was the end. Quick and simple.  Looking back I might have chosen to ink the edges of the paper, especially the light colored paper. I will definitely keep that in might for the next card.

So there you have it. Card #2.

Ok everyone, I headed out to make some more cards.  So until next time....

Inspired Greeting Card #2

Hi Everyone,

So as I mentioned before, while I was doing laundry I picked up a Pottery Barn magazine from Fall 2006 and saw some room settings that inspired me on making card layouts.  The first picture is of the entire room.  The second picture is the area of the room that inspired me.

It always amazes me where and when inspiration strikes.  For this card I used a piece of paper from Basic Grey's "Stella Ruby" collection on a kraft card stock card base.  I inked around the edges with red pigment ink from Studio G.  I hot glued some silk flowers that I found at Goodwill, and used a piece of white Offray lace ribbon I picked up from Jo-Anns (Options C1 white 3 9ft - 305836).  For the center of the flowers I used a pale green flat back pearl.  And lastly, the sentiment is part of a collection of digital sentiments from Favorite Favors' "Passion Stamps"; it reads "A friend will pray for you, a real friend will pray you through."  Here is the card.

So there you have it.  I have some more inspired cards that I am eager to show you.  Thank you for stopping by and spending some time with me!!!!!!

Until next time.. Keep praying.

Brown Bag Greeting Card Mini Album

Hi Everyone,

Happy Wednesday!! I pray you are all having a fantastic Wednesday.  Well as I said in my last blog I have been working on lots of "Thank You" gifts.  You can never have too many thank yous!  So anywho, here is my most recent project.  I am also challenging myself to use the paper, card stock, embellies, etc that I currently have before I buy new stuff.  {I soo want to go shopping}  I am having so much fun making these.  They are a cross between my 'Brown Bag Greeting Cards' and a mini album.  Depending on how you construct and design them, these albums hold five or more photos.  This particular one I can add a minimum of 6 photos and I can add more photos via the tags.  So here are the photos:

I used the 'Stella Ruby' 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey, solid white card stock, Flat back pearls I bought from Ebay, Studio G mini stamp pad -VP0017, a sprig of white silk flowers from Michael's, some Offray ribbon, and 1 leftover $.99 paper-bag I had.

I think these are a great way to use up those extra bag and a great, easy, simple way to say thank you.  And creating these albums take no time at all.  Super Quick!!!

So there you have it.  Thank you all soo much for spending time with me.  I truly consider it an honor and a blessing.  I have some more gifts coming so you can be on the look out (bolo) for them.

Until then...

More Cards

Hi Everyone!

Lately I have been in such a card making mood and I can't explain why.  So, while making lots and lots of cards I thought I would stretch myself a bit and make long and slender cards; a step away from the popular A2 - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size cards.  This first card measures 8 3/4 x 3 3/4.  I took a sheet of kraft card stock 8 3/4 x 7 1/2, folded it in half and got to decorating.  I thought I would try a block color card that could be used for a man or a woman. I don't think it turned out too shabby.

The sentiment on the front of the cards reads, "You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose."  This silly little sentiment had me rolling on the floor laughing.  I printed the sentiment onto some vellum in brown and used my 2-way glue pen to adhere it to the white card stock.

In between the blocks of yellow and green I placed a chocolate ribbon and then I added faux white stitching with my white gel pen around the perimeter of the card and some white brads to each corner.

This card I made in a similar fashion.  The layout of the card is inspired by Sara Wisboo @ http://sarawisbooscraps.blogspot.com/.  This specific design I saw her do on her Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/Sarawisboo.  I just adore her talent.  I used paper from Basic Grey: Stella Ruby collection & pink, green and white card stock.  I added white flat-back pearls to each corner. Around the pattern paper I wrapped a white satin ribbon.

This card measures 8 1/2 x 3 3/4.  I used a piece of white card stock as my base measuring 8 1/2 x 7 1/2 and folded it in half.  Then I added lots of layers.

I can't quite decide for what occasion to use this card.  What do you think; a thank you, miss you, get well?  Let me know what you think.

Until next time everybody!

<3 & hugs,

New Projects...Cards! Jeremiah 31:3 & Thank You

Hi Everyone!

I have so been in the card making mood lately that this seems to be all that I have been working on.  Even though this is not actually true I did want to share with you a few of the cards that I have crafted.  This first one measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  I used white card stock as the base for this card, "Blue & Cream Paper Pad" by  Marcella of K&Company.  This is a an old paper pad that I have had for years!  The focus or sentiment of this card is the scripture Jeremiah 31:3 which reads, "I have loved you, My people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to Myself."  I just love this version of this scripture for two reasons- Everlasting and Unfailing love.  I added some matching flowers and ivory flat back pearls to complete the card.

For this card I chose an olive green card base (5 7/8 x 4 1/4), white (5 3/4 x 4 1/8) and cream mats (5 5/8 x 4), and Patterned paper (5 1/2 x 3 7/8) from Basic Grey's  Stella Ruby collection.  I added some antique lace across the bottom, some flat back white pearls and three white roses with a single green leaf.  The 'Thank You' sentiment has been hand stamped in Lettuce green pigment ink by Color Box on the same cream card stock(2 5/16x1 1/2).  That card stock rests on white card stock (2 1/2 x 1 5/8) which rests on the same olive green (2 5/8 x 1 13/16) as the base.

Don't worry these are not the only cards that I have created.  I will post the rest later on.  So until then...

<3 and hugs!
