Spotlight Sunday!

Once again it is time to say Goodbye to our Guest Designer for this week at FCCB.
Join me in giving a fond farewell to Amy of AO Creations.

Here is her closing project for us

She used the Birthday Bash Cartridge to create this card!

And now for some closing words from Amy...

"Thank you so much FCCB for inviting me to be a guest designer. I really enjoyed sharing some of my projects with everyone and being part of this weeks challenge.
When I am not scrapbooking or papercrafting you can find me hanging out with my children, the three of them keep me pretty busy. My baby boy just started middle school and I have a son that is a sophomore in highschool and my daughter just started her junior year of highschool. For my last Project, I used the Cricut cartridge, Birthday Bash, that is another one of my favorite cartridges. Please be sure to visit my blog at aocreations.blogspot.com  Thank you for visiting me!!!"

I hope you had a chance to visit Amy's blog.  I really enjoyed getting to know this very talented Cricut Crafty person!
Join us here tomorrow to see our newest Monday Challenge.   And we hope to see your project there.

Bye Bye for Now

Spotlight Sunday

This Spotlight Sunday marks the end of Dawn's week as Guest Designer here at FCCB.  The DT would like to thank Dawn again for being a guest desginer!  Before we say our final goodbye, Dawn has a few parting words and one more project to share.

Wow this week flew by.
I want to thank all of the wonderfully talented artists here at Fantabulous Cricut for welcoming me into their Design Team family this week.
Being asked to be a Guest Designer here has been a huge honor.
Fantabulous Cricut was one of the first challenge blogs I played along with when I started my blog a little over a year ago and I always appreciate when their Design Team comes to visit and leave their sweet messages.
Thanks to you, sweet FCCB followers, for making my week here a memorable one.
I hope you will all come to my blog for visit and to check out my crafty projects.
You can see all of my projects that have a Cricut cut or two or more by clicking on the Cricut link in the label section on my blog sidebar.
Before I go. I would like to share one more card with you.
Easter is fast approaching so I made this card to share with you today.

I used the Celebrate With Flourish and Easter 2010 cartridges to create my card.
Of course I added a little embossing using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity.
May your day always be filled with love.
Crafty hugs,
Dawn aka
D~

Spotlight Sunday

Hello!  It’s time to meet this week’s Sunday Spotlight designer.

This week we are thrilled to have Dawn from Designs by Dragonfly join us.  Here’s a little bit of information about Dawn:

I started crafting as a child. One of my most memorable childhood projects was a scrapbook where I stored every baby picture I could cut from magazines. I carried it with me everywhere.  Fast forward into adulthood. A friend had a monthly stamp party where a bunch of us would get together, create cards and hang out. That started my card making obsession {hobby}.

My favorite projects to create are definitely cards, cards and more cards.

My favorite crafting products are my Cuttlebug {I LOVE to emboss things}, my ATG {tape dispenser}, foam tape to help with adding dimension, ribbons, stamps and of course my Cricut machines. {I have an Original Baby, an Expression and an Expression 2}

When asked what her favorite Cricut cartridge is, we got this response:
Now this question makes me giggle a bit. You see I have 200+ cartridges and each one comes in handy for whatever project I happen to need it for. If I had to pick just one it would have to be Create a Critter, Create a Critter 2, Create a Friend {this is my first time using it} .. You see I just can't do it.

How many of you can relate to this??

Here are a few projects Dawn has created, including one she recently won a top 5 mention for:

I love how she mixes digi images with Cricut cuts so well!  Be sure to stop by Dawn’s blog to see more of her creations and come back tomorrow to see what Dawn has created for the new weekly challenge!

Sunday Spotlight

Meet today's Sunday Spotlight Designer Mayra Duran-Hernandez! You'll find an array of beautiful projects at Mayras Designs at http://mayrasdesigns.blogspot.com/.  Let's meet Mayra!

1.      When did you start scrapbooking/papercrafting and why?
I started scrabooking about eleven years ago . I started making cards and 3d projects as of last year when I created my blog . I began scrapbooking because I didn't want to just add photos to a photo album .  I wanted the story behind each photo to be captured with it . I realized the best way to do this was to create a scrapbook , and that is where it all began !

2.      What is your favorite type of project to make (ie cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc)?
My all time favorite I have to say is making scrapbook layouts ! I love making layouts with the pictures I love . I can open a page and remember that moment .  I try to capture the love and have it show in each of my layouts .

3.      What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
I don't have just one . I know I should , but as I craft my love of products changes constantly . My Cricut has always been of of my favorite products to use , as well as glimmer mists, embossing powders (can't get enough) .

4.      What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
My favorite is Flower Shoppe . The moment I bought it and installed it into my Cricut Craft Room , I knew it would be a cartridge I would use over and over .

Thank you so much to FCCB for giving me the honor of being a guest designer . It is one of the first blogs I had the pleasure of finding that focused on all of us that love our Cricut !! I really have enjoyed sharing my Cricut projects with this wonderful and inspiring blog ! Please be sure to visit my blog anytime - Mayras Designs .

Here are a couple of fantastic projects I found on her blog-
Create a Critter 2

 Winter Woodland, Christmas, Fancy Frames

Be sure to check out her design in tomorrow's challenge!

Spotlight Sunday

Great Sunday to All You Fantabulous Fans! Beckie, here with my last post as Spotlight Sunday Hostess. Next Sunday, Mrs. Tammy will be shining the light on the craftiness! Thanks so much for allowing me to shine the spotlight, and please give Mrs. Tammy a warm welcome.

Today's Spotlight is on Carolyn of Carolyn's Crafty Creations. She grabbed a Wednesday Win with this gorgeous card.

Looking around Carolyn's blog you will see more amazing and gorgeous projects....

Carolyn is crafty and super nice. Let's get to know her a lil bit...

When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?

I started scrapbooking 18 years ago when my first child was born. I love any type of crafting but scrapbooking/paper crafting is my favorite! I bought my first cricut on black friday 2008. My husband and I stopped at Walmart early that morning on our way to the hospital to have baby #4. We stood in line and I was so excited to finally get my hands on a cricut!! Then off to the hospital to have a baby! What a wonderful memory!!

What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)?

I LOVE making layouts. As my kids are growing up it is so nice to look back on all the wonderful times and see how much they have grown. I started making cards this last year and am really loving it. It is such a great feeling to send a handmade card!

What is your favorite product to use on your projects?

I LOVE to use my cricut and gypsy! I use them for almost every project I do.

What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?

I LOVE all my cartridges!! I recently got Art Philosophy and LOVE it! I would say my favorite Font cartridge is : Cuttin Up.

What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?

Humm!! Spare time not paper crafting? I have 5 kids so when I am not doing mommy stuff, I am crafting!! I am so lucky to have a WONDERFUL husband and the BEST kids. I am a stay at home mom and love being home with my kids all day. I would have to say I spend alot of time vaccumming up Cheerios!!!

Any other information you would like us to know about you?

I have always been crafty. I spent many years doing One Stroke painting. I became a One Stroke certified instructor and taught many classes and had home painting parties. That was a very fun time in my life! I also make hair bows for my kids and for sale. A few years ago, I took the Wilton cake decorating classes at Micheals and LOVE decorating cakes.

Thank you for letting me share a little about myself and stop by my blog www.carolynscraftycreations.blogspot.com to see my other projects. Have a great day!!

Thanks so much Carolyn! Hop over to Carolyn's Crafty Creations and show her some love. Then hop back here tomorrow for Challenge Me Monday. Carolyn joins the Fantabulous DT for some stunning inspiration.

Be blessed, Beckie

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?
I started scrapbooking/paper crafting about 15 yrs ago after I was invited to a SU party. After seeing all the fun things you could make, I was totally hooked. I made cards for a long time and then started with some scrapbooking. Then, along came the cricut and I just had to buy one. I have enjoyed every minute of it and love using it every chance I get. I found this could be something I could do for "me" which would allow me to be creative and enjoy spending time with my friend who enjoyed this hobby.
2. What is your favorite type of project to make?
I'm not sure I have a favorite enjoy it all.
3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
The Cricut of course and the Cuttlebug is right up there. I also love bling, ribbon, flowers and bakers twine.
4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
My favorite cartridge right now would have to be Birthday Bash cartridge. I also like Kate's ABC's, Wrap it up, Create a Critter and the new Campin Critter.

In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy gardening, vacationing, baking and, of course, shopping:)

Spotlight Sunday

Welcome to Spotlight Sunday!
Today we have a “fantabulously” talented lady and tomorrow’s Challenge Me Monday Guest Designer!
Let me introduce to you to Glenda from Glenda’s Cards:
You may recognize this project from Challenge Me Monday challenge #57 Mom’s The Word.

Glenda was one of our Top 5 picks for this challenge.
Before we show you some of Glenda’s other incredible creations we thought you would like to get to know her a little better. We asked her a few crafty questions.
1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?

My fun with paper, scissors, and glue began in 1997. Before that time, my crafting was needle-related...sewing, cross-stitch, and ribbon embroidery. I was running out of wall space to hang my framed stitched work. With the birth of my granddaughter that year, I began scrapbooking to preserve our family photos and all the precious moments. Of course, no Cricut then. I bought the Cricut Expression in 2009 and began a new journey of crafting!
2. What is your favorite type of project to make?

I enjoy making cards! I especially like trying different styles of cards and learning new techniques.
3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?

I use the Cricut Expression on most of my work. The Cuttlebug is a favorite too - love all the folders! Inks and punches are at the top of my list too! Of course if the project is for a Red Hat Lady, it has to have bling!
4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?

I enjoy all the cartridges that I have, but I seem to use Wild Card, Lacy Labels, and A Child's Year cartridges the most.
5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?

I enjoy time with family, going to the grandkids' games and activities, love shopping for more paper, and I enjoy all the fun of being a Red Hat Lady!
However, if you asked my children, they would say I am always playing with the Cricut! I need to retire from work so I can play more!
6. Any other info you would like us to know about you.

My blog was started in September 2010 and I enjoy the many friendships that have been made. I have felt so fortunate being on two design teams for the last few months..Paper Playtime and Flaunt It Fridays. I love challenges and try to participate as I have time. I enjoy using the Cricut and I am happy that many blogs focus on the Cricut.
I appreciate Fantabulous Cricut-- always great challenges and amazing Design Team work!
It is an honor to be a guest designer! Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity and experience!

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?

Spotlight Sunday

Welcome to Spotlight Sunday!
Today we have three “fantabulously” talented ladies and Fantabulous Cricut Designers. There is something all three of these ladies have in common besides being FCCB designers. See if you can figure it out.
Let me, first, introduce to you to Rae from Wahoo Crafts

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?

I started scrapbooking in 2004 after I got married. I was instantly hooked. It is so fun to look back at our wedding, trips, annual albums, baby books, etc. Life happens so fast and is easy to forget all the fun we have. That's why I scrapbook. In 2009, I had my second child and I didn't have a lot of time to scrapbook. I missed my creative outlet so much. So, I got out my Cricut expression and learned how to really use it thanks to Robyn at www.mypinkstamper.com. That's when I fell in love with making cards and anything Cricut!!! It is great to be able to start a project and finish it quickly.
2. What is your favorite type of project to make?

Wow, that is a tough one. Right now my favorite type of project is making cards.
3.  What is your favorite product to use on your projects?

I love stickles!
4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?

My favorite Cricut cartridge is Create a Critter
5.  What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?

When I am not paper crafting, I am taking care of my kiddos and helping with my husband's business ventures. He has a Real Estate office and I do the accounting for the business. We also redevelop houses and have rental properties. I do the accounting for those, as well. I also love to read books, go to the gym and watch TV shows on DVD. Right now I am hooked on Burn Notice.
6.  Any other info you would like us to know about you.

I love fountain cokes! LOL, I am totally addicted

Now let me introduce to you to Sarah from Sarah’s Stamping and Stuff

1.  When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?
I dabbled with paper crafts a long time ago-- my sister actually used to rubber stamp when she was in Jr. High and High School and I made fun of her :)  Then it wasn't until about 7 or 8 years ago I attended my first in home stamping party that I really loved what I saw, but never thought I could "do that."  I would say the last 4 years have been when I have really bloomed in my crafting.  It's my relaxation and my creative outlet!
2.  What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, LO, mini-albums, etc.)?
I love to make cards!  I also will occasionally alter projects as well--it really depends on my mood.  I've tried to scrap book but I just can't seem to fall in love with it like I do when making cards or altering projects.  I am however, beginning to realize that I need to alter more projects versus just buying the items to alter... just don't remind my husband about my composition notebooks please :)
 3.  What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
Wow...this is a really a tough question to answer.  I think what products I tend to use really depend on my mood.  However, I would say that I love nothing more than a good brad-- it could be big, little, fabric covered, homemade...it doesn't really matter-- I'm an equal opportunity brad lover!
4.  What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
Haha...if you have spent any time looking at my blog you are probably sick and tired of seeing my work with the Create-A-Critter cartridge--I never, ever, ever thought I would like this cartridge.  I asked a friend what cartridges she uses the most and she shared with me about the CAC....well friends it has been love ever after.
 5.  What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends.  I work full-time at a University and that keeps me super busy!  So when I'm not working I love going to baseballs games (Go Twins) and I love going to college hockey games (Go Sioux) with my hubby.  I also enjoy sitting back and sipping on a delicious bubble tea with my bestie, that we drove a couple hours round trip for!!!

Now let me introduce you to our last designer, Tamara from Happy Life, Crafty Wife

1.  When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?
I started in October 2010. Honestly, the Cricut Expression was an impulse buy! I wasn't exactly sure what it did besides cut paper. I had NO clue you could have so much fun with it, I am hooked!
2.  What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, LO, mini-albums, etc.)?
I looove anything 3d. Goodie bags/boxes, table decoration, etc. I've had a ton of fun making 3d table decorations with styrofoam and paper!
 3.  What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
My Cuttlebug! I love embossing. Texture adds so much to a project. Also love using pop dots!
4.  What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
Create a Critter!
 5.  What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
What DON'T I do? LOL! I have three children ages 3, 5 and 7. I ran a photography business for several years until I moved, but still really enjoy it. I love baking and decorating cookies/cakes/cupcakes. I also sew little girls clothing and make vintage inspired hair pretties that I use to sell on Etsy. I have since shut my shop down to have more 'me' time.
6.  Any other info you would like us to know about you.

I love coffee and lip products. LOL!

Here are a few things you will find on Tamara’s blog:

Spotlight Sunday

Welcome to Spotlight Sunday!
We are still “spotlighting” our designers and today we have two “fantabulously” talented ladies.
Let me first introduce to you to Maquel from Paper Maine-iac!!

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?
I have always been a crafter of various mediums, but my obsession with paper crafting started in 2007, when I was pregnant with my daughter. My husband bought me an original Cricut and the New Arrival cartridge for my birthday (what a guy!!) and my intent was to scrapbook her life. I still have YET to start a scrapbook for her, but discovered I could do other things with that nifty little machine, and my hobby simply took off!
2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, LO, mini-albums, etc.)?
I make mostly cards and 3D objects/Home Decor items. I still would love to start to scrapbooking, but just haven't gotten there!
3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
There are several products that I couldn't live without!!
  • 1. My Sizzix Texture Boutique for embossing
  • 2. My white gel pen
  • 3. Chalk or Distress ink to add some detail and dimension
  • 4. My ATG gun, Zip Dry Glue, and Pop Dots
4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
So many to choose! I love most of them!! The cartridges that I use the most frequently though would have to be Create A Critter, Simply Charmed, Cindy Loo. I also love the licensed cartridges, even though they are more difficult to cut and assemble. If you take your time, and do them right, they really look awesome!! When you have young children, these are a must!! :)
5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
In my spare time, I love to hang out with my family, read (Jodi Picoult is my favorite author), surf the internet for great paper crafting inspiration, manage my fantasy football and baseball teams depending on the season...and I will admit, that I am a reality TV junkie!!!

6. Any other info you would like us to know about you.

I am so excited to be on my very first Design Team!! I love my online Cricut community. It is through the internet that I have met so many new people (I would love to meet more!). A goal of mine is to meet more local paper crafters and maybe teach some classes, if I can drum up interest at some point. I sometimes feel like I'm the only paper crafter up here in rural Maine!! (Are there any of you out there?!?!?! LOL!) My online community is a way to connect to others with the same passion. I'm looking forward to getting even more inspiration from others, and hopefully creating inspiration for you, as well!! :)

Here are a few things you will find on Maquel’s blog:

Now let me introduce to you to Marlene from Scrappin’ Cookie

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?

I fell in love with scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my first son and saw all of the beautiful things that you can do with paper. It’s been 7 years since then!

2. What is your favorite type of project to make?

I love all things crafty! Everything from scrapbooking to altered items. I orignally started out doing layouts and soon discovered how to alter items - fell in love with that. Then I started cardmarking - fell in love with that - but I've always said I'm not a cardmarker. Then I learned how to use my Cricut Expression to make 3D items - boxes, signs, treat bags, etc and fell in love with that too. I've also done a few cross-stitching projects, but that was many years ago. But if I had to pick an UTILMATE FAVORITE I'd have to say its making 3D items!

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?

I love combining everything together! I love my Cricut Expression and Design Studio. I use them for almost EVERY project; together they have expanded my creativity level. After that I love to use sketches, chipboard, inks, bling –stickles & pearls, my Signo White Pen, digital sentiments, and lots of layers on most of my creations. I do have a clean and simple style, though.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?

Really? Just one? I can’t pick! I think it all depends on the project I’m working on. For Valentine’s Day, I mostly used the Doodlecharms cartridge. For FCCB’s Challenge #50 – Tree Time, I mostly used Simply Charmed and Create A Critter. I also love the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge for all the accessories it brings. I don’t think I’d be able to live with just one!

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?

Spare Time? What’s that? I mostly craft in the morning while the kids are in school. My afternoons are filled with homework, household duties, and playtime with my boys. And I might get to sneak in some more craft time after I put the kids to bed and before my husband comes home from work. And if there is any extra time, I love spending it with my family

6. Any other info you would like us to know about you.

I recently celebrated my 27th birthday and have been married to my wonderful and supporting husband for 7 years. Together we have two little boys, almost 7yrs and 4 years old. And last week I was informed I had been selected to be part of the Birthday Sundaes Design Team, too. I’m so excited to be part of the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Design Team and hope you all enjoy my creations.

Here are a few things that you will find on Marlene’s blog:

Make sure you visit Marlene’s blog to discover all the wonderful things she has to share with you.
I hope you enjoyed getting to know some of our designers.
Come back tomorrow to see what our Fantabulous Design Team has designed for you for Challenge Me Monday.
Happy Crafting!
