I was the appointed ticket redeemer for my family and also the Phillips and the Nogueiras. Cai stayed and played with Cohen while Tiago and I braved the long line. It was all worth it in the end for a fun night with friends and futebol!
The school has been built! We are so excited that Daybreak actually helped build a school in Ethiopia that serves 400 kids! How amazing is that?! Now, onto the next project to help families in Cape Verde. More info coming soon!
"...and Bingo was his name-o!" out of nowhere from Cai, as he interrupted me in the middle of our family home evening lesson about the creation.
"I want Papai to sleep with me." Cai, after he threw up in his bed and I set him up on the guest bed. Why is this special? Because sick children in my house always want Mamae. Ryan was warmed by the request and I was relieved...until he threw up a second time at 2am and I was back on duty.
"Do you want to know something weird about my body? Whenever I sneeze, I always sneeze twice! Why do I do that?!" - Dezi
"Goodnight boys," I said.
"Wait! Mom! One time, I petted a stegosaurus, but he ran away," replied Caetano. 1/18/10
"Boa noite." I said as I walked down the hall.
"Mom!" shouted Caetano.
"Yeah?" I asked with a smile on my face.
"One time I saw a real shark." Caetano stated.
"OK." I said, trying not to laugh. I think I'm seeing the beginning of a pattern. Last night was not the first night that Caetano chose to tell me something of this nature as I walked out of their bedroom. My question is, how many more nights will there be of imagination statements? 1/19/10
