Hello Friends I hope you all had a great week. I sure did I was in Maine for a few days. I just love that place it was sooo relaxing. I started off making a card for this weeks  Friends with Flair but it was not coming together. So I ditched the card and started work on my new art journal.  I wanted  a new  journal since the one I have now is just too small. I have lots of  composition books laying around so I decided to use one of those and just decorate the cover. I used 3 layers of Gesso on the front cover. Then painted it in a lovely turquoise colour. The butterfly was painted using watercolour paints on watercolour paper.  I cut it out and glued  it on to the cover. I stamped the sentiment straight on the painted surface and used white embossing powder and heat set it. The stamp is from Unity called  Becoming A Butterfly . I punched some white butterflies and sprinkled them around the page to finish. I hope you like my journal :) Thanks for stopping by xox

Happy Friday friends It's time for Friends with Flair over at the Unity  blog :)  I got an early birthday present from my hubby new ink yay :)  I was never really a fan of distress inks  I bought them before and ended up  giving them away as I could not get into them. I decided I would  give them another try and this time around I LOVE them :) I think the trick is learning how to use them. I was using them too much like regular ink and that turned out too messy for me. I love how you can create your own backgrounds with them and the colours stay so vibrant.  I used 3 different Unity stamps on this card. I love this sentiment God's timing is perfect it is something I need to be reminded of. It worked perfectly with the butterfly and script stamps and makes a really nice encouragement card. I love the faith stamps available at Unity they are so unique.  I stamped the the sentiment and script stamp with versamark ink then used white embossing powder and

I thought the tags finished up yesterday over at the Unity show and tell facebook page. But they are going til the 30th so I had some time to make another one today. I am not really sure what I was going for here but I ran with it whatever it is :) Bling overload comes to mind that is for sure :)  Here are my supplies and stamps I used. ~ Unity - Your Wings Exist ~ ~  Unity - Angie girl: Dream With Your Heart ~ ~ Memento Tuexedo Black Ink ~ ~ Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch ~    I stamped the sentiment onto the tag then stamped the flowers all around to create a border. I then just added lots of bling rhinestones and pearls to the flowers. I punched 2 tiny butterflies and then added some back lace to the the top.   Hope your having a great weekend - Enjoy :) 

Day 5 of my tag making I must admit I have enjoyed making tags.  I never thought I would since I have been strictly a card girl :) Today I went with flowers and butterflies I had to get them in there somewhere :) Feel the Joy and A Friend Loveth Itty Bittys were used in today's tag.    I used a piece of coloured card stock and cut out a tag shape. I stamped the flowers with versamark ink then added white embossing powder and set it with the heat gun. I did the same thing with the small butterfly and then cut it out and glued just the body on the tag and curled the wings to give it some dimension. I then went around the whole tag with white pigment ink to give it a border then very lighty sponged over the top. I then added some bling to the little butterfly and some white ribbon to finish it off  :)   

Here is my Unity Friends with Flair entry.  I used my Feel the Joy stamp and used the generation stamping technique with memento ink. I then sponged the background in purple and deep pink pigment ink.  I mounted it on to white card and added the Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom. It looked too plain so I added teeny weeny little butterflies from the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.  P.S I ran out of daubers and all I could find was a magic eraser it did the trick as a makeshift sponge :)                                        If you want to take part hop along to Unity and enter  here I just had to make another card I just love this stamp I wish I had gotten it sooner it is so versatile. Wow the week is flying by and I am enjoying doing this daily stamp challenge. No butterflies today :)   I thought I would pull out a stamp I have no yet used. Wishing You Joy. It is a pretty stamp but I must admit it is one that I have not really known what to do with.   I stamped the flower several times and coloured it in bright red. I mounted it on to some black glitter card from the DCWV All Glittered Up Matstack.  I added the sentiment and some bling at the bottom of the card. Then punched two tiny butterflies from the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and added them so I had to get them in there somewhere :) I love the way it came out. Thanks for visiting enjoy your day :)
