A Second Sitting

This chair was brought to me by a great gal...it has suuuuch good bones and lines. Aaaand I just looked through my files and have NO before pic. Grrr....

So close your eyes....and imagine a french arm chair with floral detail and a caned straw seat. But this chair is a darker wood and needs updating. Do you see it?

Ok, so here's the after:

I painted her Benjamin Moore Mascarpone (AF-20), distressed her and glazed her with dark walnut stain. I love the way she turned out...but I'm going to try a different method of glazing on my next project...too many stain fumes are makin' me crazy. Stay tuned!

Looks fab! I have two chairs very similar to this one but I just could not bring myself to painting them. I will have to live thru yours!:)

The chair looks wonderful. I am anxious to hear what kind of glaze you use next. I use the walnut stain and I too would like to find something different.

WOW, I just bought the EXACT same chair this past weekend at a garage sale for $4. I didn't even have to paint it, it was already the perfect white. Thought I would make a cushy feather pillow (using a drop cloth - faux linen look ) : ) Great minds in blog-land, gotta love it : )

I have a similiar style chair that I plan to paint and age whenever I get around to it. You know how that goes. Glad to see what it might look like. Your chair is great. Crazy stain fumes and all!
