mckay turned 3

Day 1

Month 1

Year 1

Year 2

Year 3

I have to say it, I cannot believe that my little boy is 3! I remember being shocked when he went into nursery at church and now he is a moonbeam soon to be sunbeam. Where has the time gone? I wish I could bottle up all of the cute and not so cute things he does and open them up when I want a fresh memory. How can I capture what he is really like every step, every fall, every word, every tantrum, every morning hug, every nightly prayer?

Speaking of capturing moments, we had the classic happen. For his party the video tape ran out when I turned it on, AND the battery ran out of the camera before we got any shots! Luckily a friend did take a few pictures. This is the first year we had a party with friends so we had fun with it. The theme was fish so we went fishing for Swedish fish and gold fish, popped bubbles, colored fish and everyone went home with a Beta fish to take care of. McKay had a blast celebrating with his friends.

He also had a blast celebrating with his Grandfather and uncle Talmadge the day before the party on his actual birthday. His Grandfather was in town and Tal come over for a birthday lunch where we sang happy birthday about 100 times. He couldn't get enough. We put candles in everything that day. From pancakes, to pizza, to bananas. What a sweet little boy!

We made him a birthday shirt that you can sort of see in the pictures above. Suprisingly he loves it and has worn it a few times. The front says "i'm 3" and the back is a list of some of the cute things he's been saying this year. Some include,

Ima do it ah by self
where's my a ka queen?(Lightning McQueen)
I got two ah yem (two of them)
ecember fif, ima be free
No, I wan do it bright now
I'm not baby McKay. I'm juss McKay
Ima do it. Me too, me too.
Ah Fadder, ahhss day (Heavenly Father, we're thankful for this day)

Anyway we love love love this little/getting big boy and are so grateful to have him.
