I hope this doesn't become a nightly thing.

Monsters
My heart is torn right now. I put McKay to bed at 8pm and didn't hear a peep from him until about 8:30. He whimpered for about 10 minutes then I thought for sure he was asleep. At 9 I heard him again but thought maybe he is just stirring a little to get himself settled. At 9:15 after he was silent for about 5 min I went to check on him. I first noticed the light was on from under the door so I opened the door and he was sitting up in the corner of his bed hugging his tiger and blanket with silent tears coming down his face. I walked over and sat on his bed with him and he came and hugged me and said, in the saddest voice, "Monsters mommy." He was so sweet and I felt so bad. How in the world does he know what monsters are and that they are scary? He has been talking about them for a couple of days now as if they are his friends. We talk about nice monsters and I thought he thought they were great. I'll see how the night goes. Noah is out of town so we can't take turns, darn.

Oh that story made my heart hurt. Poor thing.
Congrats on your baby! Glad everything is well for you guys.
my youngest sister used to be really afraid of monsters too. so my mom got a room spray and put a label on it that said 'monster spray'. and every night they would spray under her bed and in her closet while she watched, it worked!
That breaks my heart... cute lil guy. That age I hear their imagination starts to soar. Hang in there lil guy!
Ellie keeps asking for McKay. We need to come out before baby girl is born :)
what a sweet little guy. james is scared of the dark too. don't you wonder what makes them so scared? the good thing is you can tell genuine fear from the typical bedtime stalling....... well usually.
Oh so sad! Poor McKay! I hope he's not too traumatized. And I hope you got some sleep last night.
Thanks for the heads up about cadbury eggs...dang, too bad they only come in boxes of 48...I'd seriously eat the entire box within a couple days I'm sure.
Oh my gosh that is honestly the saddest thing I have heard! Did you just want to cry with him?!?!? You are such a good mommy! I want to see prego pictures of you!!! Hope you are feeling well!
Love Nat and Tony
Oh, sweet McKay! What a darling.
I think it's time for a night light...maybe a Thomas the train one?! Jimmie has an airplane night light and it gives off just enough light for him to be comfortable...but not so much that it keeps him awake. That should help :)
that is sweet and sad. poor guy!
Aw, everything makes me cry now. Poor little guy. How are you feeling? I am so excited for you guys!
I read a fun thing too!...Just get air freshner spay and call it monster spray. Maybe that will work. We tried it a couple times with Sydney and Spence and it worked great. And if it does become a nightly ritual, then at least your house will smell good!
Mackay, the same exact thing has happened to me. Too scared to cry out, you just suffer the moment out.
that's so sad. Kinsey has started to worry about that too. poor kids
That does break my heart!!!! I am so sorry!!! By the way... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY yesterday!!!!! We love you guys!!!!!!!!!!
