Happy Birthday to the Tool Man

Hello EO fans! Today I'm here with a fun masculine card. I've used many different washi tapes on this card. It all works together to create a happy birthday tool man theme.

I've also added tool brads to this card. I think the wrench and hammer is perfect for this man. These are from the Tools brad set. The hand saw is from the Saw brad set. Green, orange and white pearls add just a little bit of bling. This may be a man's card but I still think the pearls add the right touch.

This card is for my husband who it a real tool man. I think he's going to get a kick out of it. I just love that no matter the theme, EO always has just the right washi tape and brads.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I inspired you to do a little winter cardmaking. Have a great week!

Happy Creating Everyone!

Washi Tape Collage Alphabet

For this week's card, I had fun exploring a Washi Tape Collage Technique.  I started with a scrap of white cardstock and then randomly began applying washi tape to the background.

I kept going to fill-up my background, incorporating lots of different designs.  I kept my tape vertical, horizontal or diagonal.

Then, to help bring all of the patterns together, I used several washi tapes in muted colors for the top layer.

Next I die cut lots of letters from my background and made two cards.  The first one uses the big PEACE Die Cut from Simon Says Stamp ... I love how the bits of flowers peek through in the design.

Next I die cut the entire alphabet using Lawn Fawn Cole's Alphabet Dies (with a few extra letters from the spaces I had left) and created this birthday card.

It was so much fun to put my alphabet background puzzle together.   I started from the middle and worked my way to the edges, keeping all of my letters vertical or horizontal to the cardstock square.  When I was done I trimmed the edges and finished with my Happy Birthday sentiment.

I hope this gives you ideas for ways to use your Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape stash.

Washi Tape Jar

Since I've been designing with all of the great Eyelet Outlet products, I've found myself viewing the world a bit differently ... thinking, *What can I cover with Washi Tape?* ... seriously, there are so many possibilities.

When I saw this glass canning jar, I thought it would be perfect to cover ... and I chose the gorgeous new Wide Stained Glass Washi Tape.

This tape is perfect for this technique, because the square elements make it easy to tear the same length of tape each time ... for my project, I started with pieces that were 4 squares long.

I attached them at various angles to achieve coverage with minimal overlap.  I used my Teflon Bone Folder to make sure the tape adhered at the ends and edges.

When I had most of the area covered, I went back with smaller pieces of tape to fill in any open spots.

Then I used the tape to cover the top of my lid.

After the lid was covered, I just trimmed around the edges.  Here's the finished product.

To give it a more finished look, I used Skinny Blue Glitter Washi Tape along the top of the jar and the Thin Blue Glitter Tape long the bottom.  Since Glitter Tape doesn't like to stick to itself, I used a small glue dot at the end of the wrap to hold it securely.

I think I'll fill it with some rolls of Washi Tape and crafty goodies and give it as a gift.

Is there anything in your world that would look better covered in Washi Tape?
