Weekends

The girls love the weekends.  I woke up on a Saturday morning to find the girls all decked out in dress up clothes, waiting for their cereal.  Katie (formerly Ballerina) and Sweetie have been getting along so well.  They really enjoy playing together.  THIS is what I have been waiting for.  I remember playing like this with my older sister.  I kept telling myself to wait until they were 4 and 6 and I was right!

Some mornings I will go in to wake up Katie for school, only to find her playing quietly with Sweetie on her bed.  When I tell her it is a school day she will unhappily protest because she was having so much fun playing.  I think she will enjoy the summer, as long as they don't get TOO sick of each other.

Captain Adorable joined the girls for cereal and he seemed like he was very proud of himself, being a big boy with a spoon, sitting up to the table.  I love these kids!

My Boy

Photobucket
Captain Adorable shows some interest in books.
Photobucket
I just love my little boy!  He is a funny little happy guy.  He loves to laugh.  If he knows I'm upset he catches my eye and smiles at me as if to cheer me up (and to make sure he's not in trouble).
 Photobucket
He was laughing at me making funny noises at him.
Photobucket
This boy has rhythm. When he hears music his little shoulders start bobbing to the beat.  He loves to dance and he's always wiggling his body.  When he walks tends to skip happily around.  Sometimes he purposely turns bends his body side to side to exaggerate his steps, just to be funny.  He loves making me laugh.
Photobucket
He jabbers so much.  He is very vocal and his streams of words are starting to make more and more sense.  Sometimes he'll mutter a stream of words softly under his breath as he is intently investigating something.  His favorite subject is always balls.  When Captain Adorable is excited about things he always exclaims "Ooooh!!!" and points excitedly and then rattles off some nonsensical babble peppered with some understandable words.
Photobucket
Captain Adorable is getting very good at giving kisses. And he loves to snuggle with me and his blanket.  He will randomly walk over and lay his head in my lap for a few seconds.  And he likes try to turn my legs so I will pick him up and he can see whatever interesting thing I am doing in the kitchen.  And I can hear him jabbering about it.  He is intensely interested in cooking. When things are hot he will say "Hot! Hot!" while signing it.  He has a low voice for a toddler and is very boyish with grunting noises thrown in every so often.
Photobucket
He puts up with me and the way I always want to give him a hug.  But there are definitely times when he squeals at me and pushes me away so he can run off and explore other things.
Photobucket
Love, love, love. Can I order another one just like him?
Photobucket
I LOVE how often I find Captain Adorable zonked out in random places.  It's so cute and I just can't get over it.  I always want to snap a picture of him sleeping. We recently moved him to a toddler bed instead of his crib.  Handsome Husband just felt like it was time.  Can I just say that he was the EASIEST baby to transition to a toddler bed??? He rolled out the first couple of nights, but other than that it is almost like there is no difference.  Captain Adorable has always been so good about sleeping.  He was my only child who slept through the night from 2 months on.  And he has always wanted to have his SPACE while sleeping.  He likes to STRETCH out and he will kick anything that is close to his legs.  When he is relaxing on the floor he will do that as well and squeal if whoever he is pushing doesn't move.  Anyway, I hope that potty training is as easy a transition for him... A girl can dream, right??

Resident Models

I finally bought a backdrop stand.  I have been saving for my new camera and lens for so long that now I am ready to expand to other things.  This backdrop stand will be SO helpful on my newborn photo shoots.  I had to set it up to test it out.Photobucket
I've been telling Babydoll's mom for a while that I would take pictures for her and I finally did.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Before I knew it there was a line of children waiting for the chance to try out the new backdrop.
Photobucket
And of course Jeana's kids wanted in on the action.

Ballerina has face paint all over her face because she went to the Portland Children's Museum that day for a school field trip.  She had been looking forward to that trip for weeks.
Photobucket
I LOVE these pictures of Sweetie.

I guess one positive thing to having so many kids around is that I will always have a subject to photograph!

Birthday Boy

Handsome Husband's birthday fell on Easter Sunday for the first time in his life this year.  We went to Red Robin the night before to celebrate.  The girls wore their pink hats that match Handsome Husband's.

The girls really love their daddy.  He is so much fun.

Photobucket
Ballerina was getting creative with the crayons.  I made her put her foot down right after I took this picture.

Handsome Husband is just such an incredible father.  He loves his boy.

Cheesy grins.

The lighting was really weird, so editing was hard.

This is a game that Handsome Husband taught the kids.  They push on his nose and he pops his tongue out.  Then they pull on his right ear and his tongue moves to the right.  They pull on his left ear and his tongue moves to the left.
PhotobucketThen they push up on his chin and he closes his mouth.Photobucket
When he closes his mouth he says "Gum."  The kids LOVE it and they play it with me, too.  The girls like to try doing it with their own tongues as well.

Handsome Husband's birthday/Easter Sunday was quite the adventure.  We all went to church, but I took Captain Adorable and Ballerina home after the first hour.  Cpt A was still cranky from his ear infections and Ballerina was super tired.  I was putting my first Easter dinner together (it was my first time cooking the whole thing for guests- my grandparents).   About 15 minutes before Handsome Husband brought Sweetie home (a little early because her ear was hurting as well), Captain Adorable slipped in his new Sunday pants and cracked the back of his head on the corner of a baseboard.  Poor boy!  Handsome Husband took him to Urgent Care for staples while I served Easter dinner to my grandparents.  So Handsome Husband missed Easter dinner and had to spend part of his birthday at the hospital.   I was glad I didn't have to be there to hear my baby screaming.
PhotobucketCaptain Adorable perked up after and he enjoyed helping Handsome Husband open his presents.  Here he is kissing Daddy's new shirt.

Handsome Husband's parents gave him this game and shirt. My parents and I gave Handsome Husband a new lawn mower.  Handsome Husband loves taking care of our tiny yard.  Home Depot is his favorite store.

Jeana's family came over to celebrate Handsome Husband's birthday and sing to him.

PhotobucketThen we played this old school Clue game.

Handsome Husband was the thief and he almost stole all the paintings before I caught him. :)

It turned out to be an interesting birthday, but I think we managed to celebrate a little in between everything.
