I booked to do an online Suziblu course a while ago, but have never got round to doing it so I bought her new book and inspired by the projects inside I decided to have ago. I like having the book to refer to rather than having to use the computer so I think maybe online courses are not for me.
The canvas is 16 x 12 inches and is made from plywood and I found it so much easier to paint on than canvas. Hubby bought a large off cut which should work out very economical.
I used a mixture of acrylic paints (liquitex, fresco finish and Martha stewart), prismacolor pencils and chalk inks. The butterfly and heart are stamped. I've used crafters workshop stencils and the rest of the canvas is drawn by hand. I used to love drawing long flowing medieval style dresses as a child (mind you my girls weren't quite so buxom then te he!) so that is why she has the flowing robe, plus I love Game of Thrones so I suppose that was my inspiration really. I enjoyed using the acrylic paints and they give a really nice texture and dry super fast. The next step is to coat it with a layer of beeswax, The lovely Sam from Me and My Stamps who creates the most gorgeous Suzi canvases has been giving me some tips about using beeswax, thank you Sam
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, will it ever stop raining, it's blowing a gale outside too, this really feels like Winterfell (Game of Throners will know what I mean!)
