Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

New Challenge at MFP Simple Salutations

Good Morning.  Thank you for joining us at Simple Salutations this week.  We have a great theme this week.  Since school has already started for some and will be starting in the next few days for others, we have decided on at "FAVORITE SCHOOL SUBJECT" theme.

You have a chance to win the "I'm in Stitches" stamp set this week.  This is the stamp set that I used for my card because my Favorite Subject in school was Home Ec.  Next to History, this was my favorite.  All the sewing, cooking, child care and finances we learned just made my day.

I'm In Stitches Stamp Set

I learned to sew on a machine like this.  The first memory I have of crafting is my Grandmother teaching me to sew clothes for my Barbies.  She had a Singer sewing machine just like this.  It had a pedal that sat on the floor and if you weren't careful, your finger would find it's way under the needle.  Thank God I never did that.

We can't wait to see what y'all create for this challenge.  We really would love for y'all to join us.

Have a wonderful day and God bless!

MFP's Simple Salutations Challenge #110

Welcome to MFP's Simple Salutation's new challenge.  Our theme this week is "YOUR A DOLL." We want to see your paper doll stamps put to good use.  I wasn't to sure about these stamps when I received my first set as a DT Member, but the more I use them, the more I like them.  I know not everyone has these stamps sets, so if you don't, please use an image showing a doll of some kind.  You can also purchase the paper dolls stamps set here.

I found these cute gemstone snowflakes in my Christmas basket.  I don't have a clue how long ago I bought these, but I did manage to use up some stash making this card.

The paper's look green, but they are actually a turquoise color.  My camera does some funny things sometimes.

Thank you for joining us today.  Have a wonderful day and God bless.

MFP's Simple Salutations Challenge #107

Thank you for joining me today for MFP's Simple Salutations new challenge.  I actually was able to get the challenge live this morning with no issues.  Yeah me!  Adding the inLinkz is a bit tricky, but I think I finally have the hang of it.

Our challenge this week is to use YOUR 2 FAVORITE COLORS.  I chose Pink and Green.

This card is a bit different for me.  I usually don't add things that hang over the edges, but I wanted to do something a bit different. I used the paper dolls stamps to create this card and they can be found in the  Store

We are offering this stamp set as the prize for this week:

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a wonderful day.  God bless!

News at MFP

Hello there.  Today I am posting for MFP.  We have a new stamp release available.  Man, I just love this month's sets.  They are fantastic.

I love the Chinese Takeout one and the flowers.  I think they are my favorites.

We are also having a Christmas in July blog hop at the end of the month.  There will be 5 days of beautiful projects available for your viewing pleasure.  I am making projects for 3 of the 5 days, so make sure to stop in to see what I come up with.  And, make sure to stop in at MFP Speedy TV to see all the wonderful projects that the DT has created.

I also posted my first challenge on MFP as the hostess of Simple Salutations.  I had a difficult time getting it live.  We had a severe storm today which knocked out our power.  Not a good thing when working online. It is also 90 degrees today and it was starting to get pretty hot before the electricity came back on.  I finally managed to get it live. :)

Have a wonderful Hump Day! WHOOT! WHOOT!  God bless.

MFP's Simple Salutation Challenge #102

Happy Hump Day!   Only two more days to this week..yippee!

Today begins our new challenge over at MFP's Simple Salutations.  Our challenge theme this week is "GRADUATION".  It's that time of year again and such a wonderful thing to celebrate.

Here's a glimpse of the stamp set you have a chance to win by entering our challenge:
                                                                    Dino News stamp set

I didn't have any graduation specific stamp sets, so I improvised.  I used  the newly released "Great Flowers" set to create my card.

I used a decoupage technique to make this flower.  The sentiment is from one of the paper doll sets available in the store.  Thank you for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate it.  Have a wonderful day and God bless.

MFP's Simple Salutations Challenge # 101

Good Morning.  It's Wednesday, only a few more days left of school and then SUMMER BREAK!!! I can't wait.

Today begins our new challenge for the week at Simple Salutations and our theme this week is: Father's Day.  Pretty fitting, right, since Sunday is Father's Day.

I used two different stamp sets to create this card.  The gears and the sentiment "Gear Up" are from the Gear Up stamp set and the wood background and sentiment are from the Plywood stamp set.  Both of these are new arrivals in the store. And, both of these stamps are nicely sized background stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope y'all have a wonderful day and God bless.

If you have any questions about how I made this card, please feel free to contact me.

Simple Salutations #100

Thank you for stopping by today.  Wednesday brings about a new challenge over at Mark's Finest Paper's Simple Salutations.  Our challenge this week is  BEACH  and here's a look at the stamp you have a chance of winning:
Silly Shells stamp set

I really had to stretch for this card this week because I don't have any beach themed stamps to use yet.  I was only able to use a Mark's Finest paper  sentiment, which is pretty fitting since this is Simple Salutations.

I pulled out some The Stamps of Life stamps and dies to make the actual card and used the sentiment from one of my flower sets  from MFP to  add the sentiment.  And, just to show you how versatile stamps can be, the clouds are actually pieces of popcorn from the Popcorn2stamp set from the Stamps of Life.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I sure hope y'all are having a great day and enjoying this beautiful weather...at least we are having beautiful weather. :) God bless y'all.

Isn't this a great set.  I love it.

I didn't put my tag on a card, but I probably will go back and do that.  I used two different MFP sets to make this card, and some washi tape.  Still haven't totally gotten the hang of washi yet, but I'm getting there.

Simple Salutations at Mark's Finest Papers Challenge #93

Hello Friends.  Thanks for joining me on this beautiful Wednesday morning.  As we gear up for the most wonderful holiday of all, Easter, most of the challenges out there are Easter themed.  For us Christians, Easter is a very special day.  It's not about the bunnies, or the chocolate, egg hunts, baskets or even the new dresses and shoes.  Easter is about the most wonderful gift ever given to anyone.  The gift of God's only son, Jesus.  He was given as a love gift and for our salvation.  The blood that was shed on Good Friday worked it's miracle on Easter Morning.  I am so thankful for that gift.

So, since our challenge theme for Simple Salutations this week is Easter/Spring, I had to make a card representing the true meaning of Easter.

Yes, my friends, He is Risen, indeed.  You will not find Him in a tomb.  He is alive and sitting at the right hand of God the Father, interceding on our behalf.  Praise the Lord!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I pray y'all have a wonderful day and God bless!

Simple Salutations Challenge #91

Good Morning friends.  Today is Wednesday and that means a new challenge over at Mark's Finest Papers, Simple Salutations. Our theme this week is  "Welcome".  That leaves alot to be determined.  You can make a welcome to your new home, welcome to our church, welcome new baby, etc.  There are lots of choices for this challenge.

I decided to use the Bundle of Joy stamp set to create my card.

I was watching Stamp TV and saw Gina make a card using this color blocking technique and thought it would work well with this card.  Here's a link to the video if you would like to watch it and see the technique.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope y'all enjoyed this card.  Maybe I will see one of your's entered into the Simple Salutations challenge this week.  God bless y'all.

Today begins my DT position with Mark's Finest Paper Simple Salutations team.  Our challenge for this week is "Elegant".  I'm not real sure what your definition of elegant is, but for me, elegant means black and gold.  I think that is a great combination for an elegant card.

Here's what I came up with:
I embossed the image and the sentiment in gold to make it pop.  Part of my whole idea of elegant. :)
