Sherbet Stack

Another bunco prize card stack...this one with Rainbow Sherbet designer paper and again the birthday theme.
I stole this idea from myself...see this and this. For some reason, I just think the cupcake looks awesome in the circle. I cut the circles using Nestibilities in my Big Shot.

This is a great card for using Pick a Petal. I first made this card at Lacey's Card Club night. It's a great card for using designer paper.

Same card that was in the Birthday stack, just different colors.

Summery Stack

This is the second of five stacks I made for Bunco prizes. These cards feature Walk in the Park designer paper and Flight of the Butterfly stamp set...both are some of my favorites!

Happy Birthday Jennie!

Today is my friend Jennie's Birthday! Instead of mailing a card, which I'm actually really bad about doing, I decided to give her this "virtual card" right her on my blog. Please go check out Jennie's blog and wish her a happy birthday! She's has lots of fun stories about kids, life, challenges, and other fun stuff. I've really enjoyed getting to know her over the past few years. She's in Bunco, Card Club, and comes to other "crafty" stuff we do....she's even coordinating a girls shopping trip in October....that will be so fun!
Happy Birthday Jennie, I hope you have a great one!

Birthday Stack

I made a few card stacks over the long weekend to give as Bunco prizes last night. I got the "stack" idea from Lacey (2 each of 3 cards - 6 total) - see her stacks here. I've kinda started making 2 of every card I make anyway since it's almost the same amount of work.
Here's the first stack - Birthday theme and uses the Junior Varsity designer paper.

The inspiration for this card is from Jill Hilliard. She uses the Big Bold Birthday set a lot, and always has creative ideas. For the longest time, I only used about 3 of the 13 stamps in that set...it's fun to finally use the rest of them!

You may remember this card from this post. I already had 2 of these, so this was the beginning card for my stack. This card uses the Party Hearty set that I borrowed from Jeannie at the crop we went to in January.

Last but not least, a cupcake... :-)

Key Change

This is amazing...listen all the way through for the part where he describes the key change........so moving. I guess it's safe to say that "key changes" come in many varieties (not just the white dress...). This arrangement is so amazing because it's a resemblance of how many exciting things happen even up to the key change. I know I'm trying hard to enjoy all those little pieces and hoping that will make the key change so much more invigorating...but it's hard....the waiting. But life is now, the whole song. So listen, to the whole song and enjoy ALL the good parts....there are oh, so many. I hope this song inspires you in one way or another.

Expansion

I doubled my stamping work area on Saturday by adding another 5' table and moving the area to a corner of the room. I don't watch TV while I stamp, but it seemed to be a good place (keep in mind I only have a 2 bedroom condo, so making everything "fit" is pretty important), and it's possible I'll get caught up on Oprah episodes someday when I'm stamping...who knows. These pics probably look pretty messy, but that's because I just got done designing a couple cards for my aunt. I just sent her a couple options, so we'll see what she thinks! Having all of this space is really awesome and makes it so much easier to maneuver around....sure will come in handy when I start the Disney books. There's lots more room under the tables as well, so much of the stuff that's on the table now will probably be stored there at some point.

Weekend Fun

My three day weekend has been both fun and relaxing so far...here's some of the highlights:

- I cleaned my downstairs on Friday after work and finished before 7pm! Had a little DQ treat just for that :-) Both were long overdue!
- Make and Take at Jennifer's (go look at the pics!)
- I met with a local Mom yesterday who is having me put together Disney vacation scrapbooks for her twin boys. I'm very excited about this!
- I've selected the menu and finished grocery shopping for hosting Bunco on Tuesday night.
- Took a 2 hour nap
- Changed up my blog - including the background and the mini-etsy.
- Signed up for Denise's blog candy....go check it out, it's awesome! Happy Birthday Denise!
- Added and expanded my stamping space...pics to follow!
- Wrote my official resignation letter from my part-time job at New York and Company. It's a great store, and I've really enjoyed working there for the last 2 years. However, I have a couple exciting trips coming up, a swimming pool to visit, other work projects, and 2 Disney scrapbooks to work on instead!
- Now I'm off to enjoy a cinnamon roll breakfast......I'll be back soon with some projects and pics!

Card Club at Ellen's

Go to Jennifer's blog to see the cards we made at Ellen's on Tuesday night. Sandpaper?!?!? How awesome! Ellen is soooooooo creative!

After setting my alarm for 5:30am all week, I finally got up and worked out this morning! I hope it's the beginning of many more early mornings and smaller numbers on the scale :-)

Have a great day!

Rock on, Dude!

A couple more cards I made with the Wow flowers set and some bold brights! It's going to be a great week - Card Club on Tuesday night at Ellen's, Make and Take at Jennifer's on Saturday and my May hostess orders will be in this week! I can't wait until the long weekend for some time devoted just to stamping and scrapbooking.
I've been super busy at work the last couple weeks, but the craziness is starting to slow down a bit, and I'm so excited about summer! I even got to float in our pool for the first time on Friday afternoon....so relaxing! Looking forward to lots more of that this year.
Well, I better head off to bed...I've been really thinking about getting up tomorrow to work out at 6am.......we'll see how that goes. :-) Happy Monday!

Super Birthday

I'm still loving my Big Bold Birthday stamp set, but have pretty much only used the cupcake part. In this card, I wanted more, so I used the balloons along with the ribbon and clip to tie them down. I've also been having fun with the chit chat rub-ons. Lots of great little sayings to fit in all sorts of small places on the cards.
Happy Hump Day!

Hi

I made this card a couple weeks ago. Not exactly sure how I feel about it which is why I haven't posted it until now. I like red and black together, but it's just so different from the cards I normally make. What do you think?

And the winner is.......

Yeah Sara! I hope you like the cards...I'll get them to you next time I see you...maybe at Jennifer's or card club in a couple weeks.
Now for a funny! I made us go outside and draw the name so I could take some good pictures! So we walked outside, and like I normally do when I leave the house, I locked the door. Yep, I locked the door - no keys in hand just the names and the camera. Luckily, this has been a problem for us in the past (?!?!?!) and we have a little fix....so it wasn't a huge deal, just that Brock had to do a little more work to get us back in the house. It just added a little more excitement to our day.....which for me was mostly filled with working at the office. However, I did make a couple cards and of course, talked to my mom. :-)
In other good news, I've been really working to eat healthier lately - cutting out diet pepsi and cookies (I love cookies) and lots of other sweets (I have a big sweet tooth). I've also found a new love for the Italian Wedge salad at Carino's Italian Grill. No idea how many calories are in the salad, but if that's all I eat for a meal, I figure it's probably ok. Another good one is the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad at T.G.I. Friday's (it's on the $5 menu!). I did splurge there though - Brock and I shared the Spiced Up Cupcakes for dessert. I couldn't resist....they were pretty tasty! I'm also switching to whole wheat whenever possible - pizza crusts, pasta, tortillas, etc. It's a little different, but not bad. I've been working out fairly consistently two times a week for a few weeks, and I'm happy to report that I've lost 3.5 pounds in the last two weeks! I'm super excited that the results are starting to show...can't wait to keep going! (I have about 20 to go!) Any new restaurant items or recipes that you've been enjoying? Please share!

Still here.....

I'm not really a fan of posting just to say "I'm still here" but considering I have some blog candy hanging out there, I probably need to say I haven't forgotten. It's been a crazy week so far...lots going on at work, lots to think about, trying to workout three times this week, and more things to think about have just gotten me off track. So, I'll be back with a winner... well...hopefully by the weekend! In the mean time, I'm trying to listen to peaceful music which always seems to calm me. Jim Brickman and Josh Groban are a couple of my favorites...what are yours?

You may have also noticed the new link on the right side to my Etsy Shop! I posted a few cards for sale over there....all of which have been on my blog at one time. I've been wanting to set it up for a while, and finally made it happen last weekend.

KWerner Color Challenge #50

I haven't done a Kristina Werner Color challenge for a long time, and this one is the 50th! I've been wanting to get out my Pick a Petal stamp set for a while, and this seemed like a great time to do it. Enjoy!

TGIF - Blog Candy!

Happy Friday everyone! The cards above were inspired by Sweet Stampin' Mama. I specifically ordered the ink pads in these colors and the Wow Flowers stamp set just to make these cards! They are so bright and cheery, I can't wait to try some more combos. They are also very easy to make and are a great way to use little scraps of white. I didn't really have any particular layouts in mind, just did what I could with the pieces I had. The colors are Rose Red, Orchid Opulence, and Barely Banana.
So, the set of these 4 cards is the blog candy! Leave a comment and tell me your favorite thing about Fridays. I'll draw a name on Sunday evening and announce the winner! I'm more than happy to mail the cards anywhere in the US, so please leave lots of comments! Have a great one!
