Cabin Get-a-way

(daddy gets a ride)
We took a quick trip up to the mountains for some much needed r&r. It's funny how when you have 4 children, trips- even short ones- aren't as relaxing as they used to be. We had a good time, though, the mountains were beautiful and peaceful, we got to share company with our dear Bagley's, and most of all we got to be together.

Jared makes us such delicious food. Every meal is just perfect. Even when he forgets the homemade veggie burgers for the sliders.

Ella I love you.

Cutest little boy ever.

Rory is my sunshine.

Violet, you are scrumptious.

Cabin Wedding

My cousin Channing got married to his gal Kate this past weekend. It was so nice to get up into the mountains, if only for an afternoon. It is amazing how cool 80 degrees can feel.

Ella and Rory l-o-v-e-d this tree house. My uncle Greg has made it quite spectacular up there.

Papa and mini-papa. This boy is a Bowman through and through.

and of course here is little Marilyn.

It was very romantic

My little brother Chad got engaged this weekend to a lovely girl named Hilary. My children love Hilary, I love Hilary, and of course, Chad loves Hilary. So we are all pretty happy she is going to be part of our family. (drawing courtesy of Ella)
Chad serenaded her on his guitar before getting down on his knee and proposing. (we didn't get to see this part). But we DID get to hear it, since he tape recorded the whole thing!
Look at that ring! Wowzer, Chad! Hilary's sister Morgan helped him pick it out.
The morning after, enjoying our Sunday Biscuits. I felt so lucky to be able to share this special time with them.
Congratulations, Chad and Hilary! I am SO happy for you both! What a good lookin' couple you make!

The Swing

There's just nothing like some good old fashioned swingin'.
And THIS swing especially is good.
It is long and has a great swing to it.
Doesn't it look like you could touch the sky?
(Except in my case it makes me nauseous)
But there is still nothing like watching your kids and husband
enjoy some good old-fashioned swinging
especially in the cool, crisp, much longed-for mountain air.
That's all, goodbye. (for now)

The Great Outdoors

We are an outdoorsy kind of family. Unfortunately, it is about a gazillion degrees here, so unless you are swimming (also in gazillion degree water) you are pretty much stuck inside. That is why we have been taking EVERY chance we can to get out of town and back into nature. You know it is hot here when 95 degrees up in the mountains feels nice!

Hudson, you are a big big boy.

L-O-V-E

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very very, extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore can
LOVE is all that I can give to you
LOVE is more than just a game for two
Two and love can make it
Take my heart, but please don't break it
LOVE was made for me and you

Yum-O!

Hudson really enjoys eating. I don't think there is a food he has tried that he doesn't like. He loves everything from peas to ice cream. Here he is eating his first cookie.
His top tooth came in sometime this weekend, finally. Happy Hudson isn't so happy while teething. Hopefully the next will come soon, it is almost through. (I hope)

We went up to our family's cabin this weekend, it was SO fun, very relaxing and nice to get out of the heat. But, yet again, I forgot the memory card from the camera, so there are no pictures. I will take some next weekend, because we are going to go up again.
