Hi. So nice to see you here. I am Kristina, i live in the middle part of Norway where winters lasts more than i could ever imagined but i love the other part of the year when the sun forgets to go down. i am proud to have to kids that i love and value more than i could ever say, and i sincerely hope they know it every single day.
If you like my latest work, be aware it is not only a result of big addiction and passion but also daily, and i mean daily, practice during last eight years. I started on Flickr some time at 2006 and learned everything from 0, with a help, support and encouragement from the community there. I still like to read advices from nice sharing people at the wide space called internet, but i do practise it in the same degree as some years ago. By now not only i have learned to use my cameras, digital and film, but also made a point in listening to my heart, finding what it is important to me and knowing what makes my photos special and what makes my photos mine. i've also been into long thinking process whether to make out a living from this passion and decided not to.
I hapen to be quite well educated and had a proper degree in natural sciences. i spent some years with a research in technology developing that resulted in some papers and another degree but then it was enough. I keep a full time enginnering job, that i find very interesting, challenging as well as good paid, and as a bonus i get to meet many people there. I love that Getty Images are lovely to sell some of my work. I say ocasionally yes to one photosession or two, but i do not really feel that scheduled sessions are my work style. i don't feel exactly in my element on planned photowalks either. A thought about a studio with a lot of equipment, big camerason tripods, artificial lightning and schedulled shooting makes my heart go cold and therefore is never going to be part of my work. I
i really prefer spontaneous photo taking whenever i feel inspired or whenever i see something that catches my eye. Photopgraphy to me is all about a moment, a piece of time, something that you are able to see and feel just before it goes away. A moment that is real. a party that relly happend. a meal that had been served. people that looked at each other with love. a moment filled with laughter and hapiness. a connection between people. kids that playing there and then. a sunlight. your workdesk and your cup of coffee. a moment that is real and therefore something to remember. I take photos with my eyes and my heart and therefore my work is lively, real, honest and funny. I don't consider photography as a hobby or as a work, it is a lifestyle, it is a part of who i am.
I need inspiration, some days more, some days less; somedays i am too busy or too tired to browse; sometimes i spend hours looking at photos of other photographers. following work of other people is very important, it is like a fresh air and i love to be inspired. I am thankfull for them for sharing their work and inspiration. many of those that i admire and look up to you can see on my blog roll. Thanks a lot for reading all this and for visiting me and i hope i can inspire you some day.
Kristina-
