Vintage Shoe for Doodle Pantry

I absolutely love this image; isn’t it gorgeous?

vintage shoe romantique

I just love the ribbon and pearl embellishment on the front. I used halfback pearls for all of the full-sized pearls, I couldn’t use them around the middle because they overlap so I just coloured them.

Fancy Shoe

I used the Midnight Madness Sketch for this card. I like that they now have a simpler version as well but of course, now that I’ve finally played again, I used the more complex version!

Coral Flower Sketch Challenge

This card is for Midnight Madness sketch challenge this week. I altered the sketch somewhat, the panel was supposed to be in the middle of the card but I just couldn’t bear to cover up the gorgeous glittery swirls on the DP. There is a close up of the glitter below.

Not much to tell, the ribbon had pale pink flowers, I coloured over the entire ribbon with a coral Copic marker so it would match. The flower was coloured with a chocolate Copic marker and then sprayed with gold Perfect Pearls in water for some shimmer.

Thank You for Midnight Madness

This card is for MMSC34. I really like their sketches but whew, they are always very challenging. This one was a bit easier and I needed a break from making things for my craft sale. I enjoy the work but it is hard to know what people will like, how many to make, what colours, sizes etc. Anyone have any insights, please let me know!

midnight madness thank you
And here is the sketch.

I now kinda wish I had used larger petals so the card would look more balanced but I was working from my hand drawn version of the sketch, not from the one you see here. This one was in my iPhone, but it times out after 3 minutes; I have it set that way, I could change it but I’d forget to change it back and my battery would be gobbled up in no time so I work from my own sketch.

I think the only elements you might not be able to figure out easily are the photo corners. They are from a single Cuttlebug square embossing folder. I cut it diagonally to get two corners from it. Time consuming and fiddly but so pretty. The flower is actually two, one with 4 petals cut out from it and another with 6 petals cut from it. That left two larger pieces, I layered all 4 to get what you see on the card. The petals are sponged with antique linen and worn lipstick Distress inks.

Enjoy, Rebecca

Fairy Dust for Midnight Madness

The theme this week was Wings and Things. This is on top of the weekly sketch. Funny, I had just pulled out this stamp set, stamped and coloured two images the week before. So I was all ready to make this card!

fairy dust

The cloud is 4 layers of flannel I sewed together in a pattern I drew right on the flannel and cut out with very sharp scissors to get close to the sewing line. Then I sprayed it with adhesive and tossed on some glitter. I cut out just the legs and glued them on the cloud. The fairy image is double foam dotted so the legs come up to the level of the cloud but the base of the image is glued directly to the cloud. Clear as mud?? hee hee
