Plum Poppies

Plum Poppies
These "fairy flower" lampwork beads from Mermaid Glass are a delicious, pale plum color. They make me think of poppies! And plum jelly. I love the burst of amber in the center. I've wired them onto sturdy 18-gauge copper earwires, and accented them with little square glass beads in iridescent butterscotch and lilac glass rounds.

As usual, I picture them with jeans! And some wild shoes.

Summer of Love

With the unseasonably warm, sunny days up here in our alpine nook, I can't help dreaming of summer. And these long, swingy earrings, with their carved flowers, make me think of a certain song, and certain summer

If you're going to San Francisco,
be sure to wear some flowers in your hair...
If you're going to San Francisco,
You're gonna meet some gentle people there.

I wasn't actually there--I was just a few months old at the time--but it's fascinating to read about, and to ponder what, if anything, remains of that summer in our culture.

Heavy thoughts, over a pair of hippie earrings. But from what I can see of the pictures from that event, people were really into accessorizing. Right on.

Acorn Earrings

"Every majestic oak tree, was once a nut who stood his ground."

I love the idea of hidden potential and that even the smallest can become something great.  We all have that seed of greatness, we just need to rise to the occasion!

These super light weight earrings showcase two tiny handcrafted acorn charms atop brass leaves that have an orange patina.

And while you're off sprouting and becoming something mighty, you probably need a little bag for the journey.

Here are my top four picks that I'd be happy to tote around while I was being all majestic and full of potential.
