Zva Creative August DT Blog Hop!

The Zva Designers are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, August 31st and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 1st on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Just a fun layout I created with some of Graphic 45's On The Boardwalk Papers.

Love these little felt blooms from ZVA!!

Ahhhh - beautiful, orange bling!! ADORE the colours ZVA has introduced with their pearls and crystals.

The blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes

Your next stop is at the blog of Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us !

Twirl

Because its important to do this when you're a girl... It lifts your spirits, makes you smile and makes you feel like a little kid again. This is a photo of my daughter and I testing out our twirly dresses (mine was totally the winner by far!)

Scrap That's September Kit is just crammed full of shabby chic goodness! I love the vintage feel you get when everything - flowers, paper, butterflies, etc is layered and distressed!

The gorgeous pearl flourish is from ZVA Creative. A perfect finish to any flower (in my opinion!)

I ended up applying distress paint to the Basic Grey Capella Doily and love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by today - I appreciate all the love and comments you all leave me. Only a few more days until I announce the winner of my HUGE blog giveaway!!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow - the ZVA Creative Blog Hop starts bright and early!

Lazy Days of You Mini Album

I soooo enjoyed working with Scrap That's! September kit - I had so many papers and embellies left over after creating my 4 layouts that I decided to do a mini album.

Such perfectly soft papers. I loved the muted tones - worked so well with the photos of my daughter in her summer hat and dress.

I handmade these flowers using Vicky's tutorial on the Scrap That! forum. So easy.

I just hand cut out two 5 petal blooms and then misted with Shimmerz Spritz and gently twisted the ends of each petal with tweezers. Once dry, I layered the two on top of one another and finished with the petal centres.

The butterflies I used were printed out on a piece of cardstock and fussy cut. Lori will be putting the 'butterfly file' on the Scrap That! forum so you can help yourself and print them out for your own projects!

Such sweet little bows - perfect for a mini album page.

Adore the package of canvas tags that came with the kit. Such a unique texture - works wonderfully with the worn feel of the papers.

The kit also comes with 2 awesome scallop oval chipboard frames. I inked and applied distress stickles (included in the kit) for a sparkle so amazing.

The blooms were fussy cut out of a piece of patterned paper and then I lightly painted the insides of the petals and finished by outlining with a brown journaling pen.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be back tomorrow with some more scrappy goodies!!

Best Seat in the House

NOTE: There is still a few days left to enter my HUGE giveaway. Click HERE.

Here is the second layout I created with the September Kit from Scrap That! Adore this photo of my dh and ds. He is such a snuggle bum. After running around the entire evening with his brother, he was pooped! What better place to rest than in dad's lap?

Yummy fabric tags from The Shabby Green Door and some amazing blooms. I did a lot of distressing on this layout as well as you can see by the paper edges on the bottom.

LOTS of fussy cutting as well. I liked the delicate feel of the cut out flowers against the 3D blooms. Originally white, they stood out a little too well so I simply painted and finished by outlining with black pen. I added a doily (just can't help myself) and painted with distress crackle paint - love the antique effect it gives.

Thanks for stopping by today. Will be back tomorrow with a mini album!!

Birthday Bash Round 1...

...was a success. We had a blast - and an unexpected 'gift'. Little man has his first lose tooth!

Halfway done his pizza he shouts - "ow! my tooth feels crooked!" sure enough - a lose tooth and 2 adult teeth waiting to make an appearance!

Just a titch happy...

Princess Chocolate Face...

Not a chocolate fan at all....

I was feeling quite 'Martha' so decided to make his cake this year - he's into Lego Star Wars so thought an R2D2 cake would be fitting. You like?! Round 2 tonight. Family only - phew!

Will be back next week with LOTS to share (finally).

Never Thought....

...That 6 years ago I would be blessed with such an amazing gift - such an amazing little boy who completely stole my heart and soul the moment I laid eyes on him.

Wow - he was about 18 months in this photo - can't believe it!! Seems like just yesterday.....

Forever my 'baby'... taken today.

Rundown of tomorrow - According to birthday boy:
have breakfast in bed - pancakes
head to Science World with our family (my hubby took the day off so this will be fantastic!)
go to the tube pasta place for lunch (Spagetti Factory)
go home and have a scavenger hunt! (yikes, mommy still needs to organize this and get some little prezzies to unwrap)

I also plan on making a cake for the little prince with my other 2 after dinner - will definitely be a hoot! We're having his 'Lego Starwars' party this weekend with all the gang - cannot wait!

(On a scrappy note... SUPER busy although I cannot yet share my projects with you (always the way - I know))

Scrap That! has their September Main Kit Release on August 26th - you don't want to miss it - fantastic as usual and lovely soft tones and colours (sneek peek on the 21st)!

ZVA Creative is having their monthly blog hop on August 30th - hope you can join in for some fabulous prizes and inspiration.

Lastly.... I am going to have an awesome blog giveaway/contest in the next few weeks - keep your eyes peeled for details!

Cheers!!

Every Road

...leads to you.

Just something simple to share today. For whatever reason, I love this photo of my kids. Its not very clear, the subjects are quite small and hard to see - but nonetheless, I love it. They're all walking along this barron path - together, but at their own pace. My eldest son leading, as he often does, with my yongest son following closely behind. My daughter is quite a ways back - but still very much apart of the journey, following along in her brothers' footsteps.

Some yummy bling from ZVA Creative!! Seriously sticks to EVERYTHING (including me when I'm trying to place it just perfectly)!!

I distressed the papers and layered several times as I felt the frame had a naturally antique look. I then framed the photo with some blue to hilight the beautiful Icy Blossoms and to pick up the hues in the photo.

Baby Doll

My little princess - my baby doll. I love the fact that she enjoys, even insists, on wearing dresses - especially the twirly ones (I was sure she'd be a total tom boy with 2 older brothers).

It was one afternoon in our backyard, just the two of us as her brothers were still napping, that we walked all around and smelled every single flower we could find. The hydrangeas, the dandilions, the buttercups, the clovers... I love this shot of her. She looks like holly hobby (remember her)?

I used some gorgeous self adhesive pearls in soft pink from ZVA Creative as well as their Icy Blossoms and Sweet Blossoms.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Will be back a little later in the week with some more projects to share!
