Christmas Advent Calendar

Good afternoon all

What a lovely day it is, not too cold and some lovely sunshine.  I have been sat out on the decking with the girls having a cuppa, watching the day go by.

Anyway this is something I bought about four years ago, and knew that at some point I would eventually get around to creating it and decorating it.  This year is perfect for it to be used as Joshua will need an advent calendar, what we do for our grandchildren :).  It took quite a while to complete but well worth the work.

So here it is

It is a Kaiser Advent Calendar kit.  Matt and I spent half a day undercoating with spray paint and then adding the glitter top coat.  This then allowed me to be creative with everything else on my own.  I created the paper fronts for the draws by making a stencil on my scan n cut and then creating an inset line, this made a perfect size for the front of each draw.  I carefully cut the centre piece and added this.  I used a die I got ages ago from Simon Says Stamp to cut out all the numbers.  I added pearl strings all the way around the inner edge.  I cut my Sentiment in gold mirror on the scan n cut.  I then added, although you cannot see them some bottle lights, the plastic cork and gubbins is under the big poinsettia in the right hand corner.  I added all of the flowers and once dry weaved the lights around the flowers.  I then added the holly and finished off with glitter on all the leaves.  The baubles are little polystyrene balls, sprayed with lacquer and then glitter added.  I had to put a pin in them whilst I was spraying as they kept floating off.

I love how it turned out.

Anyway I hope you are all having a lovely day, what ever you are doing and thank you to all of my visitors for their lovely comments.

Bye for now

Cool Dude

Good morning to you all

Today I thought I would share with you a scrapbook layout.  This is going to be one of many layout's for a scrap book I am putting together for my son and his first child.

I started off with the photo's and picked the layout colours from these.  I used a red card to create the frame for the photo's and then added the wording, before adding the stars.  The shaping on the layout was from one of the shapes on the scan and cut. I used the scan n cut to create the wording and the stars again were from one of the shapes in the scan n cut.

I have loved getting back into my scrap layouts and have already started my next.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and that this sun that is shining at the moment stays with us.

happy crafting all

Mixed Media Just 4 You

Good morning to you all

As this posts, I will be getting ready for my first day at my new job eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!
I am sure I will be fine.

Today's creation is something I have wanted to play at for sometime, and I needed to make a present for my old boss for being so fabulous, we worked so well together over the two years, so I could not think of anything better to make for her.

I have never done any mixed media canvasses before and have had my canvasses for probably the full two years I worked with her, that they needed a dust before I got started.
I found them when I had my clear out.

Okay so here it is, I hope you like it

I had great fun with my spritzers and my texture paste through my stencils.  I found this little heart in the Range and added a sentiment to it before adding lots of flowers, wooden things, metal things an old necklace, charms bling well actually anything I could find, some of them are from SSS.  I used my new glue gun to glue them all in place and once dry I coated everything in gesso, I love how it softened the pinks and greens from the original spraying.  I then used my distress ink re inkers and painted the flowers in several colours before adding some guilding wax in silver to all the alternative embellies to make them stand out.  I covered the whole lot with a layer of decoupage lacquer in matt and I am thrilled with it.

Here are some closeups

and here is the full thing again

Will be creating some more for my bedroom walls I think

As always thank you to all of my lovely visitors for your wonderful comments, and I will be hoping to see you later

18th Rock Chick

Good morning to you

It's Happy Friday again but mmmmmmmmm, no Christmas card today

I made an 18th Birthday card it is 8" square
The base layer is black as is the contrast.  I used my MS double loop punch and then used the corners to add detail.  I added lace around my decorative nestie die, a little charm, a pearl Medallion little pearls, roses and frantage all from the hobby house along with the gorgeous satin black ribbon.  The rest of the florals are from my stash.  The 18 is also from the Hobby House.

Here is a close up of that Kenny K image coloured in copics

Etched Mirror

Good evening to you all

and wow what a hot one it has been, those expected storms did not arrive however a huge swarm of queen ants did.  Had to keep the dog in, so she did not lay on them, whilst I was working away in my craft room.

I thought I would share with you a mirror that I etched for a lovely lady at work that is leaving as a special present from my boss and myself.

So here it is

I love how it turned out, but photographing was an issue, as I kept getting myself in the reflection.  So finally took this shot of it on my floor :) missing me out the shot..............

Just a quick reminder that I still have Wild Rose Studio Candy running in my side bar, for those of you that have not entered yet.

I would like to take a moment to say hello to all my new followers and thank all of my visitors for their wonderful comments, which allows me to hop over and visit you in return.

Birthday Wishes

Good morning to you all

At the weekend, I got to do lots of playing, Matt went fishing :), I have really got to grips with my distress marker water colouring, so will have something to show you soon, however this little number was one of my copic colouring sessions and I do love now and again colouring up those Magnolia's

So with a birthday card for you today and a little blue and cream
and I had not done this style of card for ages so thought I would re visit it
The contrast is a cream card stock as is the base layers and those papers are Papermania from Grimsby Crafts.  I used all of my grand nestie circles, plain and decorative to create the card base and the layers.  I used my new paper pierce die (from My Mum's Craft Shop) to cut out my image and distressed with antique linen through the die, before adding some frantage.  I used the MS heart punch and frantaged this up too.  The sentiment is stampersaurus and this sits in a nestie banner die.  I added a few flowers from Clickit4Crafts and the Hobby House, the string of pearls, charm, rhinestone heart, fancy button and ribbon from the Hobby House and the pins from Live and Love crafts I think.

Here is a close up of the image coloured in copics with a little Atyou glitter pens for the stars, headdress and champagne
A cool frock in those blues :)

I would like to welcome my new followers, and thank all of my visitors who leave me such wonderful comments, allowing me to hop over and visit you in return.

On Your Wedding Day

Good morning to you all

I know you were probably expecting another of those Wild Rose Studio, daily new releases, however you can still see these on the

Where I do believe today Sally is showing off some scrumptious birthday cake, so do hop over and take a gander, oh and don't forget to join in that New Release Candy whilst you are over there.

My candy is still running in the post above too, so if you have not hopped and joined in please do.

So with that out the way and a freaky weekend behind me, oh now I know you are going to ask so just quickly my beloved hit a baby deer on the way home from fishing and his car is not looking good :(

Anyway enough of that and onto today, where I have one of my card orders to share with you, this order is from a lady who is starting to become a regular of mine, this time she asked for a Wedding Card, so here it is.

This is an 8" square card

I have gone with lots of layers on this one, starting with the black and bringing in the pink before returning to the black.  The white layer has been stamped and embossed before adding the two hearts with the black heart scallop edging.  I added some little pink pearls, pink roses some greenery a little triple bow, a fancy button and a double heart charm, from the Hobby House and then the little wedding rings from Crafts U Love.  Really enjoyed making this one.

As always I would like to say hello to my new followers and thank all of my visitors for their lovely comments which allows me to visit you in return.

Love at Christmas

Good morning to you all

What a lovely weekend, had plenty of time to get the housework done and to play, all with a little sunshine that does help us get in the mood for lovely creations. Today I am off to the opticians to get some new glasses, that might help me to see better on my colouring :)

So today I have a little House Mouse for you, now this does not meet the current theme of flowers and flourishes on the

but I would like to encourage you all to hop over and view the eye candy on offer for the mid week squeek!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here is my card
Just had to use my berries to match the image, I treated myself to them from Live and Love Crafts and they are gorgeous
So the base colour and contrast on this one is red with some of those gorgeous papermania papers.  I used my grand nesties for the circle layer and my holly PATP to create the corner detail and panel for the ribbon.  The little gold pearls are from the Hobby House and the ribbon on this one is from the local garden centre called Pennels, it is a wire edged ribbon so holds it shape really well and the double looped bow can be shaped for depth.

Here is the close up on that copic coloured image
So darn cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

As always I would like to thank all of my wonderful visitors and followers for their inspiring comments, which encourage me and allow me to hop over in return to see their gorgeous work and welcome my new followers.

My Best Friend and I

Good morning to you all

Wow what a gorgeous day it was yesterday, I did a bit of housework and then played.  I had popped to see my best friend on Wednesday for coffee and we ended up colouring and playing as you do, this is one of the images I needed to finish off, that I did on Thursday and I made up the card yesterday.

So I made a birthday card with my image and then as I am enjoying my crafting, it has been a while, with the old mojo running low, well anyway I sort of got carried away with the embellishments again.

 So girly, isn't it...................
I used a base layer and contrast of lilac card from Grimsby Crafts.  The papers are the lilac Papermania ones.  I punched the first layer on the right hand side corners before layering up the other two panels.  I slipped the off the edge Joy butterfly die just under the punched edged panel.  I added lace under the centre panel on the right hand side.................. I know then I almost hid it altogether :(  I added pearl strings, heart pearl flourish, pearls, pearl medallion, charm and frantage all from the Hobby House and then the flowers were white and from Wild Orchid Crafts but I used TH distress ink Liking Lilac and airbrushed the others with my V15 copic, before placing on the cards with some silver twiddly bits and some leaves.  Oh then I added a couple of tags and finally the sentiment, which is a Wild Rose Studio new release. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm did I miss anything.................oh gosh yes I did that would be the lovely ribbon and bow from Lidl. Can I just say they do sell the most amazing ribbon :)

So on to that image coloured in copics with a little antique linen distressing around the edges
As always I would like to thank all of my wonderful visitors and followers for their inspiring comments, which encourage me and allow me to hop over in return to see their gorgeous work and welcome my new followers.

Vintage Easter

Morning all

hope you have had a good week, and Happy Friday almost the weekend, which for some or us whose husbands go to fishing matches, means that tomorrow is my play day :) yipeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

As I could not play last weekend I will be making the most of it this weekend.

Anyway enough of all that two weeks ago when he was fishing I decided that it was about time that I created my very first Silhouette Cameo own design SVG file.  I have since designing draft one which is this creation, made a few small adaptions (thank you Polly for your lovely eye and Steve for your ideas to improve, I adore truthful constructive feedback)  So here it is and would love to know what you all think.

The amendments have meant that the sides will be more rounded and the handle slightly thinner.

I have used some digital papers from FAR FAR HILL, now if you have not seen these gorgeous papers please do hop over, they are free for download and you just need to leave a comment and they are beautiful. I added some lace from Grimsby Crafts and then used my cameo and some online store files to make the flowers, I added a Hobby House rose to the centre of the large flower and some Hobby House ribbon around the top and bottom.

Now that I know how to create my own wow I cannot wait to create again, I have so many ideas :)

As always I would like to thank all of my wonderful visitors and followers for their inspiring comments, which encourage me and allow me to hop over in return to see their gorgeous work and welcome my new followers.

Morning all

yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is the end of the week, playtime tomorrow :) as my hubby is going fishing.  So today I thought I would share a card that I made for my MIL birthday. I just loved colouring up this image and creating this sweet card for her.  I used one of my favourite
Nicecrane Designs Images
 called Flower Children
so here it is
 all PINK!!!!
This is an 8" card, and has a base layer and contrast of pink.  I added several die cut layers some gorgeous designer papers along with some feathers.  Before adding all those gorgeous Hobby House embellisments including the wonderful banner, there is a link in my side bar to them all.

Here is a close up of that gorgeous image coloured in copics, you just know I love my copics, they blend so well and really make the image pop.

Mother's Day Florals

Good morning to you all
As you  may know I now have a little more time, for me, and for playing, so here is an image I sat and relaxed and coloured in during the week.  I put this together quickly yesterday and so had fun
I think this image from
Just Ink Lined
is suppose to be a bridal bouquet, however I think it works so well for a Mother's Day card
I used a deep Moss green card as the base layer and contrast and some really old papers, you know I keep diving to the bottom of my draws and finding some yummy bits.  I added a MS punched panel to hold this Lidl ribbon.  I added a Hobby House pearl medallion on the bow knot and a little made with love charm.  I added Hobby House pearls and some of their flowers, but the rest of the flowers are from my stash with the lillies from Click it 4 Crafts.  The image sits on a decorative nestie oval.

Here  is a close up of the image coloured in copics
anyway that is me for today, as I have a couple of more images I coloured to put onto cards and then must hit the housework :(

I would like to thank all of my lovely new followers for joining me, also to thank all of my visitors for their lovely comments, as this allows me to pop over and see your beautiful work too.

A Blast from the Past

Good morning to you all

Today I would like to share with you some old and new.  I was asked if I could make an
Anniversary Card for a Wife.
Not a problem, so I e mailed my Pinterest link for these over.

Not expecting what the order came back as and this was the choice.
So here is a card I made within the first few months of card making.  I had to score the embossed squares myself and used a peel off for the sentiment, as at that time I did not have the large selection I have now.  All the flowers were from either the Hobby House, Hobby Craft or the local cheap shop.  The pearls from the Hobby House.  My photography was on an old camera and without my day light lamp. This one was a 15cm square card and think it was pearlescent cream.

Anyway so I had to case my own card, so here is my revamped new card for the order.

Slightly different :)

This is an 8" square so needed some strength to hold the flowers and still stand nicely.  So I layered up onto a white base a layer of burgundy then a layer of white and then another layer of burgundy before adding my embossed top sheet.  This embossed sheet if from my new M-Bossabilities folder that I got from the Hobby House, went with the fancy choice out of the two.
Tip: if you bought an original grand callibur and you bought one of these folders, due to the white paper guide it will not fit, however a pair of strong scissors will cut it neatly so you still can use it.

I added an MSE sentiment and layered this on the burgundy and raised this with foam pads, before starting on adding all of those little pearls from the Hobby House.  I added several flowers the burgundy mulberry roses from the Hobby House the leaves are a woodware punch the lillies are from I am Roses and the gem's and some of the other little fill in flowers are from the cheap shop.  I added a Hobby House charm to finish off.

He loved it and I am sure it will be another one for his wife to store, so I placed it in a clear fronted box, so she can store it safely.

So all that is left to say is thank you to all my wonderful visitors and followers for your kind words, which allow me to visit you in return.

Vintage Booze

Good morning to you all in the land of blog

Today I get to show you what I have been playing with the last few days.

I made a vintage bottle holder for the MIL partner.  I have been inking my hands up and playing with glue, and with my flower arranging and you know how I love my flowers and it is all Polly's fault for getting me messy the other week.

So a little bit of a long post due to photo's which believe you me took ages to take :) and will try explain as I go what I did

So you may want to grab your coffee before scrolling down further, I will wait while the kettle boils for you................................................... okay we ready :)

This one shows one side view, I started by cutting my 12 x 12 papers to size but the top pink one was not quite big enough to go all around, so left me a space at the back. So below you will see how I worked around that one.  I distressed all the edges, by wetting the paper and then having a rolling session on all edges, this then was left to go dry and hard to allow the vintage photo staining session.  I then glued the additional worded paper down the back after doing the same to that.  I then put eyelets down the two edges and threaded ribbon through these and sat it in place on the container.  I visually located the centre and marked this. Removing the paper to do the wetting, ripping and rolling and distressing on this.  Once all dry I glued the back of the paper and replaced on the container and tightened up the lacing. Leaving this to dry before decorating further.  When I went back to it there were some horrid creases so I used these and distressed them too.

Here you can see the lacing with those eyelets and the distressed edges.

Here you can see how I added the florals from in the centre panel and escaping out around the side, adding pearl flourishes.

Here you can see the centre of the page ripped to show another panel of the printed paper, with the flowers sat to one side and running out at the bottom with more pearl flourishes.

A close up of the flourishes and a little of the torn and rolled centre piece.

The top is slightly different. I took my small scallop circle nesties and cut several circles of the reverse of the text paper.  I distressed all of the edges with the vintage photo. I wet all of them and then scrunched them all into little balls.  I opened them out and placed them on top of each other largest to smallest.  I used my Japanese hole punch gadget and made a hole through them all and then added a brad.  Whilst still wet I folded up all the edges starting inside till I had all of the layers around the brad and still wet, like a ball.  I scrunched this in my hands again and carefully peeled open the layers.  I left this to dry and added further distressing of that good old vintage photo. The lace was wrapped around twice and when dry I distressed this too.  Lucky little distress pad was working overtime :)

Here is a close up of the flowers and another of the flourishes.

Here is a composition photo
