If you go down to the woods today ....

your sure of a big surprise!  Digi Galore has a new challenge today with the theme 'Teddy Bear's Picnic' which is sponsored by the wonderful Teddy Bo.  Here's my DT card:

I've used the image, Love Swing, which has been coloured with Prismacolour pencils.  I haven't used them for a while and quite enjoyed it, but I'm definitely out of practice.  The cardstock is Stampin Up (Chocolate Chip & Cajun Craze) and the design paper is from the retired 'Well-worn' papers.  The sentiment is also from a retired Stampin Up set but I don't know it's name.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Jen's Digis - #1 Celebration
Freshly Brewed - #126 anything goes
Divas by Design - #67 anything goes

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 23

Here's my card for the DT over at Cards for Men. Another Christmas card!  I actually coloured this image 5 times and deliberately kept it simple so that I could duplicate it for my general cards.

The image is Robin from Hope Jacare who is the wonderful sponsor of our challenge.  For full details of the challenge, the prize and how to get this image for free hop over to the main blog and check it all out.  You'll also find lots of wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

I've coloured the image using prismacolours and blended with sansador.  The snowflakes are cut from a Marrianne D snowflake and the sentiment is a stamp from Dovecraft.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Polkadoodles - Quick & Easy
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Winter Snowflakes
Crazy for Challenges - Square Cards
City Crafter Challenge - Get your digi on
One Stitch at a Time - Winter Wonderland
The Stampman Challenge - Christmas
Top-Tip Tuesday - Christmas

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 20

Today's the day for a new challenge over on Cards for Men.  The theme is Autumn and this is my DT card.  The image is 'Squirrel' from Jayne Netley Mayhew and it was a breeze to colour with my prismas.

I've used Bazzill Basics to make the base card and some  C'oredinations for the mounting and leaves.  The design paper is taken from a Joanna Sheen CD - In Other Words and the leaf punch is from X-Cut.

As you all know, my shop currently has a closing down sale which will run until Thursday.  After that, I'm going to start a sister blog to list my left over stuff that people can buy direct.  I'll post more about it later.

Why not pop over to Cards for Men and have a look at the wonderful cards made by the rest of the Design Team and maybe hop around and leave them some comments.  Everyone likes to get feedback.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 16

I'm a bit late this week with my card for the Cards for Men challenge and must apologise for the poor quality of the photograph.  I was initially ahead of time with this card, but I got a virus last week which knocked me sideways, and things all slipped back again.

The challenge on Cards for Men is 'Off on an Adventure' and the digistamps we got from the sponsor, Squiggle Stamps, were just the job.  Take a look over at the rest of the DT to see the full range and the fab prize on offer.

I was really pleased with myself for crating this scene as the pieces came together easily.  I started by cutting my own cloud shape then using a sponge dauber and Memento Ink (Bahama Blue) created the sky background.  The sand is cut from a piece of cream glitter card and the image is coloured with Prismas.  The crystals and sentiment finish it off.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 14 and a new challenge blog

The weeks are just whizzing by you know.  Here's my card for the latest challenge over at Cards for Men where the theme is 'Christmas in July'.  The sponsor is the wonderful Roberta from Prairie Fairy and the prize is 5 digis of your choice.

Please pop over to Cards for Men where you'll find all the details and some great ideas from the rest of the team.

For my card I've used Bazzill Dotted (colour:Salt) which has been cut to make a 6" square base.  I've also used Bazzill Basics (Berrylicious and Guacamole) for the layering.  The Design Papers are from Dovecraft 'Tis the Season' and so is the Brad.  The image is from Prairie Fairy and has been coloured with my Prismacolours.  The stamp is from Dovecraft 99p stamps but I don't think it's available anymore.  Shame!

I really liked the way this card turned out because although I have made it with a man in mind, it is very unisex and easy to reproduce.  I may end up with more of these before Christmas.

Hope to see your cards over at Cards for Men.

I almost forgot (in fact I did, lol), the new challenge blog I referred to is Just Inspirational Challenges and here at Donna's Den of Crafts we're proud to be sponsoring their first challenge.  Pop over and have a go.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 13

The challenge this time on Cards for Men is to follow a sketch.  The sponsor of our challenge is the wonderful Meljen's Designs and she kindly gave us some images to play with.  I've coloured my image with Prismacolours and the rest of the card is Basic Grey Archaic range.

Please pop over to Cards for Men and join in.  We love to see your creations.

'Happy Birthday' to a brand new challenge

So here is my DT card for the first challenge here on Donna's Den of Crafts.  Our theme is Happy Birthday and you can find all the details as well as the rest of the Design Team's cards in the post above.

For this card I've used Bazzill Basics Cardstock which was cut 4"x12" then tri-folded to make a 4"x4" square card.  It's hard to see from the photo but the layer between the yellow and turquoise is actually a dotty patterned paper.  This and the DP used inside are from the DCWV Citrus range.  The image is called Lenny and he's from Prairie Fairy.  I've coloured him using Prismacolors and blended with Sansodor.  The sentiment inside is computer generated and the stickers are also from the DCWV Citrus range.  The ribbon was from my stash.

Please pop over to the main post and join our challenge.  As it's our first week, there's an extra special prize and we're really hoping for a good turnout.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 11

Gosh time just flies by in our house.  Here's my DT card for Cards for Men - this week's theme is 'Good Luck'.  The image is AJ with Sign and it is available here from The Stamping Boutique who are sponsoring the challenge.

I've coloured the image with prismacolours.  I printed the image out 3 times so that I could do some decoupage although it's not so clear from the photograph.

The card is a Bazill Basics and the DP is Basic Greye 'Origins'.  The four-leaf clover stickers from Dovecraft Handcrafted Boutique.

I hope you like my card.  Please hop over to Cards for Men and take a look at the rest of the cards and maybe even join in.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 10

So here we are again with another card for Cards for Men.  The challenge theme this time is 'Outdoors' and here is my design.  The images are from Hope Jacare and I have coloured them using Prismacolor Pencils.  The card stock is Bazill Basics (colour Mystique).  I cut a 6"x6" card out and then a 4"x4" square aperture.  I've kept the inner part to use on a gatefold card in the future.

In practice I found the card was not quite stiff enough to support the back after I had cut such a large hole in the front.  I would either reinforce it or alter the design slightly in the future.

I hope you like my card and will have a go at the challenge on Cards for Men.  Pop over and take a look at the other members of the Design Team for some great ideas.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 6

Here's my card (very late!) for the latest challenge over at Cards for Men.  This time the challenge is 'Happy Birthday' and the prize is three digi stamps of your choice from Prairie Fairy

I've used a Spellbinders Pinking Circle to cut out my card then a circle of yellow followed by my image which is called Robot Boy and has been coloured with my Prismacolors.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 4

This is my DT card for the fourth challenge over at Cards For Men.  The challenges have moved to fortnightly now and we have a host of new sponsors lined up.  That'll relieve my shop a little, lol.

The sponsor for this challenge is my friend, Claire, from Hope Jacare.  If you haven't seen her work you really should take a look at her shop, it's wonderful.  Claire kindly let the Design Team choose an image to work with so I chose Birthday Bird.  I've coloured it with my favourite Prismacolours and the backing paper is just something from my local craft shop.

The theme for the challenge is GREEN so I thought this image would lend itself well to the colour.

Hope you all like it and can join us over at Cards for Men.

New challenge over on Cards for Men

Here's a card I made for the new challenge over on Cards for Men which Donna's Den of Crafts will be sponsoring.  I've made a 6"x6" easel card using a piece of Bazzill Classic Card (colour - Berrylicious).  the image is from Mo Manning which I've coloured in using Prismacolours.  I've also used some bits from the  Bazzill Swiss Dots range and the DCWV Christmas Glitter Stack.  You can find all of these cards/papers over in my shop.  The buttons are from my stash.

The challenge will run from 1st December 2009 to 14th December 2009 and the prize up for grabs to mark the launch is a Crafter's Companion Ultimate Pro.  You can find them in the shop here.

So go on, have a look at the challenge - the more, the merrier.  Good Luck.

A Birthday Card for my Sister-in-law

I made this card recently for my sister-in-law's Birthday.  My cards are still quite simple but getting better.  The image was a freebie from Sketching Stamper which I've coloured in using my Prismacolours.  I really love using them at the moment.  I don't sell Prismacolours although I do stock Sakura (see earlier post) and Bruynzeel Aquarel pencils which are new in.  If you want prismacolours, gamsol, etc. I buy mine from 1Buy1Pencils and I can strongly recommend them.

Back to my card...

I rounded the corners using a great new tool from Zutter called the Rounder, the gems were just from my stash and the base card was from a box of DCWV Textured cards.

Hope you like my card and I'll be back later with a post about the CRAFT challenge that we're sponsoring.
