Original Oil Painting Lamzy Divey

Lamzy Divey

Sold

8" x 10"
Painted on Ampersand Gessobord.

I named this painting after an old song: Mairzy-doats and Dozy-doats.

This song probably goes back to my mother's youth. It goes like this:

Mairzy-doats and dozy-doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

This is all I remember but it kept going through my head when I was painting this little lamb.
Just a silly, little nursery rhyme that makes no sense.

Now try to get it out of your head.

Original Oil Painting: Moo not Boo

Moo not Boo

Sold

8" x 10"
Painted on Ampersand Gessobord.

I guess Halloween is still on my mind, hence the title: Moo not Boo.

I have been thinking about doing a cow portrait for sometime. There are so many nice cow paintings out there.  I thought how could I express a different view of one?

I am still working on creating my own style. I like using multiple colors to express a shape but so do other artist. What makes me think I am different?

Original Oil Painting Wild Rooster

Wild Rooster

Sold
10" x 10"
Painted on gessobord.

I do not get the chance to paint with so many nuggets of pure color to often. So when I saw this colorful character, I could not resist painting him. The background was done very abstractly which complements the rooster well. I was going to just title it: Rooster but with all the colors; wild just had to be added.
