Water cats and stealing ideas.

Whoops, kinda disappeared there again, didn't I? Busy, busy as usual but mostly finishing the bathroom. Which still isn't done but nearly-almost there. We're waiting on a blind (with beach huts on!) and I pic up my towels tomorrow (also with beach huts!) and then it's just finishing bits and pieces. Seagulls and other such nonsense. Oh, and rehanging the door. And sealing the bath panel. Bleeurgh.

We're using it, though. And by we, I mean the whole family. Damn water loving kittens. Jones is meowing like madman here to get the water turned back on so he can paddle.

Temple isn't a paddler so much as a drinker. Couldn't get normal cats, could I? Nooo...

What else? Not much, really. I made 2 bee blocks for the Hipbees and that's been my only sewing this month. Until yesterday! It's an in-service day here (2 actually, Thursday and Friday) and while spouse had the days booked on annual leave, what with the 3 weeks off with his hand (which is fine but tender as everything restretches), he's decided not to take them as he ony started back last week. So I had an unexpected 2 days off work. Yay!! It's my work night out next weekend and I wanted to wear these shoes. I got a cracking LBD (less than £20 in Tesco!!) but have no red handbags. Red not being my colout at all. And then I remembered the fat 8th bundle of Oh Deer I got from Cindy at Fluffy Sheep Quilting and, whaddayaknow, the red was perfect.

Now, this is where I confess to style stealing. It wasn't til I had finished that I spotted this bag bears a striking resemblance to Big Daisy Kiss Boutique AKA Emma Ford's work on Facebook. (I do hope that link works, lemme know if it's a dud, 'kay?) She has graciously permitted me to share this with you - you should really check out her stuff though, it is gorgeous and she has amazing quirky tastes in fabric. And her finishing touches are awe-wait for it-some. Really, check her out.

Here it is with my shoes for scale. It's just dinky-poo. Actually, I made a bit of a schoolboy error and made the opening so wee that it didn't fit over the cuff plate thingy on my machine - awkward topstitching! But I'm chuffed with the colour match and it's all from stash (well, except the fusible fleece) although I need to replace that particular fat 8th from the bundle now. Something else may fall in my basket by accident while I'm at it. Happy days!

So, tomorrow brings a mad itinerary of shopping while Chook is at riding and my spouse has a hangover (it's his work night out tonight) and hopefully I'll have a bathroom finish and a deconstructed kitten-proof Christmas tree to show next time. Catcha later!
