DMAT (Diploma in Music & Audio Technology) is a course under the School of Media & Info-Communications Technology (SMIT) in Singapore Polytechnic. The DMAT course is designed to provide a holistic music education that imparts components of creativity and technology, with emphasis on the integrated use of music and audio elements. Students learn to create and produce music and audio through the use of a variety of software and hardware tools.DMAT has proven to be a popular course. The first intake in 2005 was only 43 students, who entered either through JAE (good academic aggregate) or DAE (audition-based). The Cut-Off Point in 2005, or ELR2B2, was 12 points (after bonus)!

Ticket Price: $6 - to cover for our costs (tentative)

Aim: To complete 7hrs of CIP work and collaborate this project with our Performance Module's 'public performance'.

-> Get sponsors (Carm, you know what to do about this right? Please guide us.)
-> Book Auditorium (or whatever venue we're using).
-> Look for an Organisation to aid.
-> SEND everything.(redundant)
FORTUNATELY, THIS WILL BE DONE BY Carm, Ian n myself.
-> Preparation for PERFORMANCES:
- Everyone is involved n MUST do at least an item that lasts for at least 3mins(strictly).
- You CAN do in grps. Pop style. Get ur own drummers n stuff. But please be presentable.
- I'm sure Michael will guide us more on THESE.
-> Preparation for Rehearsals:
- Well.. From experience speaking, rehearsals will be a big headache. at least 3 full-runs. With costumes n music n all.
- PLEASE be prepared to stay back late.
- PLEASE also prepare ur pieces back home(solo)/elsewhere(grp). We meet to run thru, not practice music. IMPROVISE yay..
- Don't stress out. whee.. COOL^^(bani)
-> Preparation for Concert:
- Tickets: we need to print, which means $$$ gotta come in. So, i was thinking if we can get sponsors, it'll be good. hmmm.. (carmen?)
- Ushers: problem with this is our own DMATians cannot do this. Our main job is to do music n audio. yupp. so external help is needed!! yay..
- We will have 2 full runs in some big area(we'll have to look for somewhr in the sch), 1 full-run n 1 tech-run on concert morning. Uh.. u all know what r runs right? yay.
- Schedule for rehearsals will come out only after all admin matters r settled.

its really awkward how SP manages our course.. Changing everyone back n forth in the class... The timetable goes chaotic and we all got pissed.. Dun that juz suxxx? I really wonder wassup with SP.. With the dumb IDEA module, the boring talks and stuff, it aint supposed to happen this way. So many pple were complaining that the IDEA module is nonsense, since they sell our ideas, then the developers profit, not us. One good example known to us so far was the Maggi Mee franchise. The real makers from SP were not acknowledged at all. They were only given a little cash (duno how much) for it.
