New Frame Around Bathroom Mirror - Mirror Chic Review

It's amazing how something as simple as a frame can completely transform a mirror and upgrade the look of a bathroom immediately.  When Mirror Chic  reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing their project, I jumped at the chance.  We bought a second home in Florida about a year ago and little by little I am working on that home.  We are only there for a few weeks at a time, here and there, so its a little more challenging to get things done.

We started with a plain jane mirror in the hall bathroom.  With a little help from Mirror Chic, the mirror has become the focal point of the bathroom.  It's a huge upgrade to the bathroom.

The process was simple.  I gave them the dimensions of my mirror and they shipped me the four sides of the frame which were easy to put together.  I laid them out on the floor upside down and matched up the corners.  I added a little wood glue, which they supplied, and hammed in the little connectors.  I waited a few hours and voila the mirror frame was ready for installation.

Then I ran into my first dilemma.  As you can see the mirror is a wall to wall mirror and there is no space below where the faucet is and no room above where the light is.  So at first I could not get the frame to fit in place.  I tried different angles but no luck.  Then I realized that if I just removed the light, leaving it attached to the electricity, I could move it out of the way enough to get it into place.  Since the house is in Florida and we are there mainly because my daughter plays competitive tennis and trains in Florida, it was just me and my daughter.  So I called her in to hold the frame while I took off the light fixture, held that in one hand as she helped me place in frame in place and then I reattached the light fixture.  So the dilemma turned out to be minor and the frame fit perfectly.  I removed the tape strips from behind and pushed it into place.

What a transformation!

What a gorgeous frame!

If you're looking for an easy and affordable way to upgrade your bathroom mirror, check out Mirror Chic.  You won't be disappointed.

Have a great day!

Spooky Halloween Mantel

What is Halloween without a few spooky spaces?  When Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store contacted me and asked me to create a spooky space in my home I jumped at the chance.  As soon as my gift card arrived I raced over to my local Joann store and picked up all the supplies I would need.
JoAnn has a huge assortment of Halloween items and it was hard to narrow it down.
Here is what I purchased...
along with these cupcake wrappers.  I already had the wreath form.
I created the wreath using the cupcake wrappers and straight pins.  The cupcake wrappers came in two patterns, a spider web and one with Halloween words on it.  I pinned each wrapper, alternating patterns, all around the face of the wreath and then pinned more on the outside and inside of the circle as well.
I used the labels I purchased at JoAnn to turn regular beverages and salt into deadly, more sinister potions.
I wrapped regular candles using these self-sticking Halloween embellishments.
I love this faux spider web.  I added a piece of torn fabric underneath so that the spider web is more visible.
I covered books in scrapbook paper and more Halloween stickers labels.  The pumpkins are covered in these cool pumpkins bags.
I used the third pumpkin bag to cover these books.
More spooky stickers cover more candles.
I just love the plaque - spooky in an elegant sort of way.
 How about you?
Have you created any spooky spaces this Halloween?

You can check out more ideas over at Jo-Ann's.

Firmoo Glasses Review

When Firmoo contacted me and asked me if I would like to review a pair of their glasses, I jumped at the chance.  I don't wear prescription glasses, but I do wear sunglasses all year long.  Sunglasses not only protect your eyes, but they help keep the crows feet away from the sides of your eyes for longer, since you do less squinting.  Firmoo is an online eyeglass store with thousands of frames to choose from.  I chose large wrap around sunglasses in turquoise...which you know is my favorite color.
I received my Firmoo sunglasses in the mail shortly after ordering them online.  I was so impressed that the sunglasses came with a hard case and a soft case, as well as a cleaning cloth.
The sunglasses from Firmoo are not only super stylish, but extremely comfortable.

I wore them all day at the pool and completely forgot that I even had them on.  They keep the glare out of my eyes even better than my "designer" sunglasses that I spent hundreds of dollars on.

The sunglasses are so awesome that by the end of the day my daughter was trying to claim them as her own.  I think we are going to be fighting over these.

You have got to try Firmoo.  If you wear glasses, Firmoo will be your new favorite eyewear store.

To entice you even more, Firmoo is offering free eyewear to first time buyers.

Click here to get all the details to claim your free eyewear.

Thank you Firmoo!!
