Through high-tech hat application software, a winner has been determined...
...Amy! Congratulations!!
I'll be contacting you shortly for your shipping info.
Here's what Amy said she'd pack for lunch:
"We are part of a homeschool co-op so my don't need a packed lunch every day but at least once a week they do need one. At least half the time the kids want pb&j. It's easy for me at least. I just got my copy of Vegan Lunchbox Around the World so I might make something from there if I'm feeling adventurous next week before our first co-op day."
Have fun packing lunch for one of your beautiful six kiddos!

Spiderman lunchset giveaway!
It's been quite a while since I've had a giveaway, so to help you get ready for the school year, here is a Spiderman lunch set! Finding girl themed bentos is easy, but if your boys don't like cars or bears you're often out of luck.
Here's the prize: a sandwich keeper, sparkly stickers, paper muffin cups, fork & spoon. The sandwich keeper did not come with outer packaging, and the fork & spoon were part of a multi-pack but have never been used.
- The plastic sandwich keeper fits a traditional sandwich perfectly, or it can be used as a bento to arrange foods neatly inside. The lid is not leak-proof, but it stays on well. If you want the image on the top to stay looking new, handwash.
- Stickers are a fun treat for kids. They can also be used to decorate a lunch note, or used with a toothpick to create a unique bento or cupcake decoration.
- Muffin or cupcake cups are handy to separate food items in a bento. Use paper ones to hold dry foods like nuts, dried fruit, grapes, mini pitas or shaped sandwiches, cookies or crackers, etc.
- A small fork & spoon set are easy to fit inside a lunchbox or furoshiki. Handwash or place in a small items basket in the top rack of a dishwasher if you must.
So here's the hoop...Answer one of the following questions in comments to be entered to win! That's it! (You will be required to provide a name & address for shipping purposes if you win.)
Question: What will you likely pack for your child's first lunch this school year?
(If you don't have kids in school, homeschool, if this is for an adult, for a gift, or if you just don't like the first question: What is your favourite sandwich?)
I will pick a winner on Thursday, Aug. 27th by random-boy-hat-#-generator, hahaha.

100th Post Giveaway
It's my 100th Post Party! And coincidentally I've finally reached that wonderful 100 hits per day mark. AND my local supermarket has started carrying Lock & Lock products. Sooo...
Comment and answer my question to win a Lock & Lock 750ml box, colored wooden toothpicks, & some elegant mini paper baking cups.
This Lock & Lock box is advertised as a "dairy keeper" and has a removable horizontal divider with tablespoon measurements on it. Use it without the divider for taller foods, or with the divider to put a sandwich on top and other less stable foods underneath.
This style box is simple and practical for adults or older kids who don't want lots of cutsie characters or colors. It's 750ml size is just right for an average adult lunch or a mother/toddler snack or light lunch. Lock & Lock is known for being very leak-proof, with four solidly locking wings on each side. It can also be used for food storage, craft storage, etc if you don't want to use it as a bento.
All items are new. Contest ends saturday, March 21st and I will announce the winner via high-tech "kidlet picks name out of hat" method on Sunday, March 22nd.
Just answer this fun question to enter:
If you had $100 to spend on only 1 food item, what would it be?
(I personally would order as many cases of Tartex pate as possible!)

Giveaway Winner!
And the winner is...
MindfulMama!
Congratulations! You'll be receiving your football food picks before the end of the month.
Please bear with me everyone...I had intended to post a video of Ryan pulling out the winning comment from a hat. But my camera died. And I mean DIED. It was already on its last legs: the battery door had to be left open or it would mysteriously drain new batteries within a day, the retractable lens cover no longer opened & closed properly and was super-glued open, etc. But when I went to use it sunday evening it wouldn't function anymore, at all.
So I got a new camera. But we could not afford my dream camera, so I have a new point & shoot Casio...with a few hundred page CD-rom "book" to read so I can figure out how to do the most basic things like, say, turn off the ridiculous face-recognition and smile features...who uses this stuff??
And I need to load new software to even get photos off the memory card.
Basically, I need free time that I don't possess. So bear with me...hopefully I'll be back up and running by my usual friday post!!

My First Bento Giveaway!
For my upcoming 10,000th hit (yep, that's it folks) I wanted to give away a little token something. So from now until then (some time this week I assume), leave me a comment answering the following questions:
What is your favourite winter holiday/celebration?
What food do you eat/cook to celebrate?
The lucky winner will receive these 2 food pick sets:
I am not a big football
fan, (okay, I did have
season tickets one year
at Syracuse University),
but I know many people
are. The Superbowl is
coming up on Feb. 1st,
so I should have plenty
of time to ship these to the recipient. Besides the obvious bento applications, these would be great for Superbowl party appetizers, sandwiches, or cupcake toppers. Have fun!
I'll use my super high-tech random 6yo-pick-a-number out of the winter hat generator to determine the winner this sunday, January 4th. So spread the word!
