A new tradition.

Kalaree and I have started a new tradition. Every night after the girls go to bed, her and I curl up in my bed and read while listening to music. She has her books and I have mine. It is nice. This tradition has really strengthened hers and my relationship. I have learned so much from her the last few nights. She has decided that she wants to save her money and after high school graduation go travel Europe for a couple of months. She actually wants to go for a year but well I vetoed that but told her she could go for a month or so before she started at college. She said that she wanted to that since she was 5, who knew? We talk about boys, friends, teen drama, etc. It is so nice to see her growing up into a wonderful young lady. She really cracks me up and she is such a happy girl. Not many can say that they are as blessed to have a great 13, almost 14 year old.

Flu and Cookie Crusader

I was out of work last week with the flu. It was so nice to just lay in bed and sleep. Especially during those hours that the girls were in school. However, of course that means my work load just double at work since I missed 2 1/2 days. (I went in one day for a 1/2 day to meet with a parent.) Kalaree has started to love baking. Her speciality is cookies. She makes a new one every night. Isn't really conducive with a diet but hey who can turn down a really good cookie, right? She is quite talented with them too. We have started car pooling for Young Women's. I drop them off and another mother picks them up. I crack up laughing because of course we have our "driving songs" which means volume up and singing at the top of our lungs. But it makes the commute so much nicer. Other than that we really are living a rather boring life. Not that I am complaining. I love the get up go to work come home and settle in for the night routine that we are embracing here. I will try h

Overdue update

We have a computer at home again. Grandpa Mike sent this really cute mini laptop. It is really small so it is taking some time to get use to it but it is also nice because it really takes up no room what so ever. I am hoping that I can get better at updating int he evening like I was doing before but being out of the habit I will need to work on that. Thank You Grandpa Mike for the computer we really do love it. I have been reading the new "House of Night" Series book by P.C Cast. I like the story line. I am not a huge fan of the type of writing, but the storyline has me intrigued. I now have to wait till March for the the book to come out and t finish the series. So in the mean time I started a series by Libby Bray. I just started it today so I can't really give a good critique right now. Kalaree is turning in to such a teen. We went out the other day to lunch and a movie with a friend of mine that has a daughter Kalaree's age. While at the restaurant this basketball

Really not much going on.

Kezri has still not finished cutting out her dress. She is almost done so I think that I am going to encourage her to finish that up tonight. Kalaree has been busy being Kalaree. She is hoping to have a friend spend this weekend so she is busy getting the chores done that she has to have done to get that. Kami is really not doing much. I have been working like crazy. Both at home and at work. This is a crazy month for me with a bunch of reports due so that has left little time for anything else. I started reading a new series. Yes, I have left Twilight for now. I sure hope that she writes more and I can return someday. I got spoiled yesterday as David surprised me at work with roses for our anniversary. We went out to dinner last night since he was off. I got him an Iphone for his present, which of course he loves after playing with mine so much. He got me a cover for mine, plus the roses and these new books. I can't believe that we have reached 14 years. Not that they have been ea

What happened to Holly?

I swear that I am not dead and I have not forgotten my wonderful friends and family that I truly love. Because of those snow days in December I came back to work with a ton of stuff to get done in the next two weeks. I am literally swamped. My head is seriously spinning form the amount of work that I need to do. So that limits my time at work to update my blog and with us being without a computer at home that doesn't really open up time for me to update there. So I have pretty much resulted in using my iphone at home to check email, that of course if I don't have it plugged in for music. The girls are doing well. Kezri is in the process of cutting out the fabric to sew her first dress. She takes after Grandma O in that she hates to cut out. She is literally cutting it out one piece at a time and then waiting till the next day to do the next piece. If it wasn't taking up my whole dining room it would be rather funny to see how long it takes till she actually gets the thing c
