I have great kids!!!
David ended up working last night. He was just going in to sign papers and they ended up keeping him till almost 5:30. Which was fine. I got home to find Kalaree and Kezri at the kitchen counter and Kalaree was helping Kezri wiht her homework. I started dinner, while they continued to work. Then we ate and the girls headed out to play. Lately though I have really enjoyed their little snipits. So I figured I would share those here.
On our way home from the car accident. Of course once everything had calmed down. Kezri says, "I was shaking so hard my eyes were watering." UUMM your eyes were watering because you were crying. Got to love kids.
Last night I thanked Kalaree for helping Kezri with her homework. Kezri replies, "I had to force her to do it." Oh the power of younger siblings.
Kami is really afraid of Halloween. She is really trying this year. However, the other night a commercial for Scream at the Beach, a local haunted house came on and she had to hide her face from it. Once it was over she looked at me and said, "that was close I almost had to sleep with you tonight."
Also Kami seems to cry at this one particular commercial on TV. I am sure you all have seen it. It is the one for the animals. It plays real sad music and flashes pictures of animals that have been abused or neglected. It makes Kami cry every time. Well the other day we were in a store and sad music came on over the intercom. Kami says to me, "mom look at me." I look but have no clue what I am looking for. She then says, "There is sad music on and I am not crying." Okay so it was the music on the commercial not the flashing of very sad looking puppies and kittens that tug at her heart strings. What an AH HA moment for me.
Kalaree has her moments too. However, most of her moments are her trying to appear "blonde". Not so much innocence anymore. She has turned into a beautiful young lady. I am impressed with her ability to make friends with anybody. I noticed the other day that it doesn't matter to her what type of person it is she will welcome them no matter what. There is this one girl in our ward that has had a rough life and lives with Grandma and Aunt and Cousins and so on. She can come to church if she wants but doesn't have to if she doesn't want to. Well Kalaree has welcomed her. She plays with her and treats her with respect. So this girl has been coming out. All it took was a little bit of compassion and look what happens. Kalaree is cautious around her, since this girl does make a habit out of disappearing, but all in all she has welcomed her in.
I am so grateful for the kids that I have. They are not prefect by any means but they are so great kids.
