Thanks for always getting my Mojo up and going Julles.
My inspiration came from the classic colors of a western with a Princess twist. I can help but see Grace as a Princess in what ever I watch... In the movie Amy(Grace Kelly) is most defiantly not a princess but a simple quaker girl.. She is totally against all violence and doesn't want her new husband Will (Gary Cooper) to be the Marshal anymore. It take the whole movie to convince he that the wishes of his wife are the way to go.

Brooke's Projects Inspired by the Movie~ Alice in Wonderland
Feast on this little snack while my other projects are baking.
I will be posting my final projects soon so please come back to see what's baking...
I have always enjoyed the movie of Alice and all her adventures. This just happens to be a couple of my favorite rides at Disneyland as well. The Adventure of Alice in Wonderland ride with all the neon light is fun but the Mad Hatter's tea cups are a MUST do. The lanterns and music just set the tone before you even set foot in the sauces...
We just bought the newest version of Alice this week and watched it as a family. What amazing photography and color. I love how the low light really play up the bold and bright colors. And the creative foursome that created/acted in this production are the NUTS ! How amazing are they all! (Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter, Jonny Depp, and Danny Elfman)!
Before Alice even wonders of and falls in to wonderland She is being told by everyone Whom, What, and where by everyone in her life.. You find yourself wanting to just tell her don't listed to any of them... One of my favorite scene in the movie was the tea party and I only wish it was longer.. But when you meet the Red Queen and you sit in her quart with her don't be surprised if she hollers for a pig! LOL.
As far as this weeks challenge is concerned this is a little summory of how I feel about creating a project/card for it:
"There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A Land of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be mad as a hatter". ( the Mad Hatter)
I could agree more.. Good luck trying what to make for this challenge.. I just sat there with a blank stare for a while.. THERE ARE SOOOOOOOO MANY THINGS YOU CAN GET CREATIVITY FROM YOU WILL GO MAD TRYING TO PIN DOWN JUST ONE OR EVEN TWO!
CONGRATS TO ALL OUR NEW AUDREY AWARD WINNERS! WE LOVE YOU ALL! THANKS FOR PLAYING ALONG. You can check out our newest winner over on our Cinema Saturday blog HERE
What a sweet movie this is.... When shy Carl meet spunky Ellie he had now idea how much his life would change... It became the adventure of a life time.... From the first pinning of the "Ellie badge" Carl was part of a life long friendship. In the end the encouraging words Ellie wrote to Carl in the her Adventure book help him to change his life and reach out to change a life of another...
When Carl Lost the Love of his life he just couldn't move on. Carl decided to take his WHOLE house with him.. Little did he know that the little 8 year old wilderness scout Russell was a stowaway. These to are quite the odd couple on this little adventure.. Russell drives Carl nuts just my being his 8 year old self. They find a few little companion along the way.. Kevin a mother bird becomes their mission. The gang is trying to help Kevin back to her baby birds when her hunter shows up and just another adventure begins... To find our how this movie end you will just have to watch it... It's just a sweet reminder of how much we need others in our life....
My inspiration of HOME

This is one of our sneak peek photos.. We took this picture when we were visiting our friends in Devon, England.. Lucky us they new a few about a few of the sights that the movie was filmed at. This is the church they filmed the wedding scene at in the end of the movie..
Card inspired by the movie ~ Sense and Sensibility
Ok those of you who know me know I {HEART} period movies....
I love the costume of this time period... The colors and wall papers are simple but elegant as well. When I saw this pattern paper I new I would be a perfect match for color and design for my card.. I then though I needed a simple but elegant ribbon to represent some of the activities like hat haberdashery(hat making) and needle work ladies would do all day if they were privileged. Finished by a simple but elegant button that might be found on there clothing or shoes.
So I was over the moon to make a card inspired by the movie
"Sense and Sensibility". I really relate to a mix of two characters from this movie, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood.. Just like Elinor Dashwood I was the oldest of 4 girls, always did the right thing and was reliable and dependable. I even have a few little trinkets that I have held onto that belonged or were given by somebody special.. But as I get older I find the same qualities with the addition of new qualities like the spunk of Ms Marianne.. I usually speak my mine. I was really reserved and shy when I was younger. But with Life experience I think I have learn how to stand up for my self and just try to not let others opinions bother us.. Not saying that always works. But it's defiantly easier when you are older and more comfortable in your own skin. I admire Ms Marianne for her determination to love deeply and follow her heart. But my heart aches to see her in such despair from lost love.
I love the formality of this time period. The respect that men and woman had for each other. The proper courting and engagements. Men standing up when a woman walks in and out of a room. Men that wear something other than t-shirts and jeans (my men). I am sure that is really was not as romantic as it all appears in the period movie.. And the hygiene has was nothing like modern times. But a girl can dream and live in here own Jane Austen world can't see.
It really is a funny story about how they came together.. Click here to read more.
I hope you all enjoy one of my all time movies.
Thanks for stopping by
Enjoy the show.
BROOKE
Happy Birthday to my sweet little daughter that turned 12 today... Daddy took us out for our birthday dinner last night at the Cheesecake Factory. My birthday is on Monday and I am not even close to 12.... Try just one year short of 40!!! Yikes!!!
Your just my style... But which one do I choose...
Inspiration photos
When we decided to have "a little plaid" and our inspiration started I knew I was going to use 2 things 1. this super cute stamp by Verve and the Build a Bear Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up.. When I saw our guest designer Kathy's card she had designed I couldn't get it out of my head so I had to do a store front in her honor.. You can check out her AMAZING card here. and below's link
When I say the dress that Eowyn was wearing I knew I was using blue... As I was watching the movie I had a moment of inspiration when Merry and Pippin were with the Ents (Trees).. So I started a tree that I think ended up looking like it belongs more in Rivendale... This movie as do all the L.O.T.R's movies has such a huge FRIENDSHIP overtone. I wanted to show how loyal all the different characters in this movie are. Sam edifies the ultimate friend.
This card is for all my amazing friends that I have meet through Cinema Saturday challenges...
When I was growing up my dad recorded the L.O.T.R. from our P.B.S. radio.. I remember listening to the Hobbit and being a little sacred... I remember the book by the side of his bed and him naming a subdivision in Utah with the street names all L.O.T.R.'s... I though that my dad was a huge fan but not that obsessed.. He really didn't spend that much time thinking about the L.O.T.R's...
That was until I meet
~CAROL~
She lives in Shire herself just kiddin'... She know more about The Lord of the Rings than anyone I have ever meet. I am almost scared to type anything about the movie in fear I will totally get my wires crossed... You HAVE to go over to CAROL'S blog and see who she has given her card to... It's really COOL... Just a little hint to where she hangs Akubra.
Come play with us and get a chance to win BLOG CANDY.
I know you are all thinking... What is this? And what does this have to do with the movie. Well let me tell you... Believe it or not there is a central theme in this movie about "FAMILY". Nicolas Cage's character "Ben Gates" is a multi generational treasure hunter... They all share the same obsession of finding the next clue while trying to prove the innocence of there ancestor. Who does "Ben Gates" go to for help.. "FAMILY" his father in the first and both his parents in the second movie..
When I was in University my favorite class ever was "American Civilizations". The colonizing of the new found U.S.A. is my favorite time in history ever... I actually really crave all history not just American history.. My girlfriend from England is always amazed at the history I can tell her.. She even stated one time " I think you know more about my country's history that I do" In the U.S.A. We take World History in Grade school, Jr High School, High School and University. Our Final for "American Civilizations" was a Biography about a family member.. I wrote it on my Maternal Grand Mother.. My Grandmother is a very private person so I treasure the memories that she shared with me for this paper back in 1990 .. My grandmother passed away June 28, 2009.. LOVE you Grandma..
I wanted to make a project a little more than a card. So A little memory book was a perfect fit until I went to print out pictures.. and found I was out of ink.. So here you go lots of picture below. We did have more than Abbie and myself on the tour.... The boys just didn't want to admit or should we say have proof that they had a cool time on the High School Musical tour...
This tour was really not a easy thing to arrange evidently.. It was a hassle. My friend Nikki made the arrangements and told us it was very expensive, they even made her get insurance for the time we were there.. She told them it was for our 20th high school reunion for this school... While we were on the tour they told us they were going to start filming the 4th movie very soon. The funniest part of the tour was when the guide said " Our next stop is Sharpay's locker" All the little girls squealed it was really cute. My favorite part of the tour was the main gym and the stage.. This is an amazing stage.. We spend lots of hours on that stage.. Lots of great memories... I had a great time I hope we have a class reunion in 5 years I loved catching up with everyone.
Little Zach is the new Zach....
I can't wait until I get a pink locker in high school.
Come join us over a "Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge" and make a" HOT" card. The requirement this week is to use an element of Lace or Ruffles. We you have finished don't forget to share it with us on the CSCC blog. If you are linking to another blog don't forge to leave a comment...
A little card for the person I want to be loved by forever..
If you want to play along with this sketch you have to hurry over to Julee's Mojo blog.. This is a contest challenge this week so don't miss out...
My first inperation for this card was the music.. I searched on line for the sheet music and read through a few and choose my fav.... I then reduced to the size I wanted and had this great sketch come to mind.... I {Love} Julee's sketches.. I use to do mostly color challenges.. But if I have to choose one or the other due to time etc. I choose Julee...
I don't remember when I first saw this film. But who could forget Jack Lemon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe... I can see them dressed up as girls playing there instruments on the train with the all girl band... Then acting like best girlfriends with Sugar... Hillarious...
A favorite line is from the song.. "I Want to be Loved by You" Sugar: [singing] I wanna be loved by you, just you, nobody else but you. I wanna be loved by you alo-o-one. Boop boop e doo. (I always think of Betty Boob when I here this line.)
Favorite Quote from this movie: Sugar: Story of my life. I always get the fuzzy end of the lollipop.
Saddest fact I found: Marilyn Monroe was pregnant during the filming, as a result she looked considerably heavier. She had no known children and several miscarriages in her life. Due to her pregnancy, most of the publicity still photos were posed for by both 'Sandra Warner' (who had an uncredited role as one of the band members) and Monroe's frequent stand-in Evelyn Moriarty with Monroe's head superimposed later.
Funny Fact: When Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon first put on the female make-up and costumes, they walked around the Goldwyn Studios lot to see if they could "pass" as women. Then they tried using mirrors in public ladies rooms to fix their makeup, and when none of the women using it complained, they knew they could be convincing as women. There is a scene on the train recreating this moment.
Cool Votes for this movie: In 2007, the America Film Institute ranked this as the #22 Greatest Movie of All Time.
The movie's line "Well, nobody's perfect." was voted as the #48 movie quote by the American Film Institute (out of 100).
Voted #1 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 Funniest Movies.
Voted #14 on the AFI's List of 100 Greatest Movies.
This movie is one of my DH's favorite's he looks forward to the new "Oceans" coming out each time.. I have to say I really enjoy them as well... There are a lot of pretty faces to look at in the "Oceans" movies... Another fact I learned while reading up on this movie... It's a re-make... Hello... What planet do I live on... Not sure how that slipped past me... It is a "Rat Pack" movie.. I am SO going to get my hands on this flick... Here is a link to the original info on I.M.B.D.
What a COOL cast...
