Happy Monday, November 18, 2013, readers! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I'm going through a bit of a hat craze at the moment. There's something super comforting about throwing one on in the morning and not having to worry about what your hair looks like. I love the classic elegance of the hat pictured above. However, I find myself just throwing on a snapback, or a beanie. Are you a fan of wearing hats? Which type of hats are you a fan of most? 

1. So, if you're into the more classic-elegant looking hat, then I suggest this one. It comes in different colors and runs for $38, made of wool (great winter piece). 2. I'm a huge fan of Daft Punk, so I was thrilled when I came across this feature in WSJ magazine. The feature features Daft Punk and Giselle Bundchen. I suggest you check out the article and photography! 

3. Thanksgiving is only a handful of days away! I'm so excited to see family and to eat some really good food. I've starting looking for some unique and yummy recipes and have come across this Baked Brie with Pecans recipe. Can't wait to try it.

A Week In The City: Los Angeles Area

My newest series "A Week in the City" takes you to some of the best places to travel to, where to stay, eat, and what to pack. The Los Angeles area of California is one of the most beautiful places in the world. From the beautiful, warm weather to the many eclectic places to stay and dine, it's a place that has attracted many people and will continue to do so. (ABOVE) I fell in love with this vintage photograph of cars driving in L.A. From the palm trees in the background, to the classic cars in the foreground, it embodies the California lifestyle.

(1) The Los Angeles area is very hilly, because of this there are many gorgeous views. This view taken from a higher elevation close to L.A, shows the beauty and size of the city. Many celebrities have home's overlooking such views! I could definitely get used to this.

(2) The Mr. C in Beverly Hills is one of the best boutique hotels you will find in the Los Angeles area. The hotel features a pool, restaurant, and spa. The exterior of the hotel is very 60-70s California. It's modern, yet has a few subtle classic elements.

(3) One of the suites at the hotel. The guest rooms range from 365-1165 sq ft, each of the rooms has a private balcony overlooking Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles. In terms of the rooms design, I love the rich leather texture and the use of metal. It's a very rich looking space, however, it still feels fresh and laid back.

(4-5) Mr.C hotel also has a pool! Though it's not very large, it's still a great space to unwind and have a drink at. I love the different colors used throughout the space!

(7) Baco Mercat is one of the best restaurants in L.A. They serve a classic American cuisine. The best part is their super affordable price point. I love the look of the restaurant from the exterior. It looks super inviting! Amazing brass door.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's clean, simple design, and neutral color palette   

Even though I love Kelly Wearstler spaces, I do enjoy a clean, and simple space from time to time. A space such as the one above feels relaxing to come home to and does not play with you mind. The neutral color palette adds to this simplicity. If the furnishings were crazy colors, the space would have a very different feel. The pop of color from the painting gives the space some life and warmth. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love the contrast between the vibrant pieces and accessories minimalist architecture   

The architecture of this entry vestibule is very minimalist. Parallel lines are the core of this space. The furnishings and accessories in the space, however, are very vibrant. Each piece is super ornate and very detailed. I love the contrast between the architecture and pieces. I hate when a space is predictable and this space is certainly not. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love this space's staircase, lighting, and exterior door   

This entry vestibule is quite different from the other one featured in this post. This space has a very Moroccan feel. The staircase is what gives this space that feel. Each step has a different pattern. This works well in this space, because the space itself is painted white and is simple architecturally. In addition to the staircase, I'm a big fan of the Gothic/Arabic light fixtures. These pieces work well in the space. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

Why I Love This Space: I love the furniture and accessories in this space, and overall coziness   

When I first saw this space, I was immediately attracted to the furniture and accessories. My favorite pieces are: the vase, sofa, mirrored console table, bust (look in mirror), and the mirror. These pieces all have a strong beauty. Overall I find the space to be quite cozy. The proximity of the furniture to each other is what gives this space that feel. Do you like the space? You can add as little or as much to your space as you want. Don't follow rules, just do.

The Fruit And Vegetable Sculptures

Romanian based photographer, Dan Cretu's, fruit and vegetables sculptures are the perfect balance of fun, creative, and somewhat tasty looking. Due to the nature of the materials, Cretu had a maximum of four hours to assemble and photograph each object before it started to brown. I love Cretu's imagination! (1) "Orange Bicycle". Love this photograph. This photograph highlights the beauty of the orange. From the peel to the juice, looking at this photograph is making me very hungry!

(2) "Orange Camera". I love the color story that is happening here. Rather than having a camera fully made of oranges, Cretu used lime's as well to add a layer of dimension and vary the color of the camera.

(3) "Cucumber Camera". When I first saw this photograph I did not think that the camera was made of actual cucumbers. I thought a cucumber-type paper, covered the exterior shell of the camera. It looks to perfect! Love the punch of red the tomato brings to the photograph.

(4) "Fruits and Veggies Stereo". This photograph is a culmination of both the use of fruits an vegetables. I see Grapefruits, Stringbeans, peppers, limes, what do you see? What do you think of Dan Cretu's work?

The Conan House

The Conan house is designed by architects Moon Hoon in Bangdong, South Korea. Moon Hoon architects envisioned "a sculptural object, unhindered by its neighbors, standing rather conspicuously". The result is a stunning home that looks like nothing seen before. (ABOVE) The front door of the house is located at the structures corner. The bright red color screams attention. If it were not for the color, one would get confused as to wear the front door is.

(1) A view of the house from the street. I love the different shapes the home creates'. The windows are uniquely placed, and are positioned to take full advantage of the light and enhance the architecture.

(2) The structure is placed on a base for added support. It appears that there is a sandbox on the home's front lawn. So much fun!

(3) The city of Bangdong is famous for sight seeing and leisure. The awkward plot of land in front of the water calls for a uniquely placed structure. My only issue with the home is the lack of windows on the front facade. With such beautiful views, I'd love to have large windows.
