Playing With Food

https://www.facebook.com
As a kid I used to play with my food. However, instead of creating colorful, artistic dishes I made a mess! Artist Hong Yi decided to play with her food and managed to create this wonderful, creative series. What I love about the series is the white plate theme throughout. (ABOVE) Made of onions and mint leaves. The way Hong Yi placed the onions creates much dimension. (BELOW 1) The Three Little Pigs. Looks like the house is being taken away by balloons made out of jelly beans. How very "Up"! (BELOW 2) Made out of eggplant. I must say, I love the elephant. (BELOW 3) Made out of chilli padi. I love tulips, I just bought some to place in front of my house. What do you think of Hong Yi's series?

Missing From Your Closet + Cyber Day Deals

Happy Cyber Monday! I'm so excited to get back to blogging today after the long Thanksgiving weekend. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving I had to go into surgery to have something removed from my right side. All I can say is--I'm glad to be out of the operating room. Hopefully a full recovery is not going to take too long. How was everyone's Thanksgiving and Black Friday? I was so fortunate to have my family change their plans and come over to my place for Thanksgiving! My surgery prevented me from driving, so it was such a treat to have my family come to me AND cook! Fruit Faces

http://minkmgmt.com
Artist Philip Karlberg's "Fruit "Faces" are a fun and creative work. For the series, Karlberg assembled different food items, and sunglasses to create a face. The series sort of reminds me of Picasso's work! (ABOVE) Some greens, Cauliflower, a Lemon, as well as other foods creates this composition. I really like the symmetry of this piece. (BELOW 1) An Orange, Lime, as well as other foods creates this composition. Here, I'm loving the sunglasses, the face has a retro look. (BELOW 2) Celery, Cantaloupe, as well as other foods creates this composition. I'm loving the the purple food in the upper left hand corner. What on earth is that? (BELOW 3) Cauliflower, as well as other foods creates this composition. This face has a very feminine look to it. She's clearly the diva! What do you think of Karlberg's series?

A Texas Dream Home

http://www.sothebysrealty.com
Located on a fantastic hill in Austin, Texas is this Mediterranean inspired villa. I love a Mediterranean villa! The home is situated on over four acres of land. (ABOVE) The home has a great symmetry and balance. Once you turn onto the slopped driveway you are surrounded by views of the country, and city. The front landscaping is minimal, the focus is the home and the views. (BELOW 1) The Infinite pool makes you feel like you are floating in the sky and amongst the top of the trees. The backyard features a few terraces and balconies, which allows you to enjoy the views and be shielded from the elements. (BELOW 2) While you are lounging in the pool take a few steps over to the outdoor dining area, and put some food on the grill! The fireplace comes in handy during the cooler Texas months. What I really love is the wood ceiling. It adds a rich texture, and warmth. What do you think of the property?

A Night In The City: London

http://www.jasonhawkes.com
London is a city rich with history, beauty, and glamour. Walking down a street in London, you'll be captivated by the architecture, stylish locals, and attractions. Whether you're a lover of the arts, architecture, fashion, sports, or food, London has something for you. What do you think of this iconic city?

Where To Eat: The Wolseley
The Wolseley is one of the premier restaurants in London. At The Wolseley one can enjoy Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. The design of the restaurant is quite elegant. It has a classic, yet modern, sleek design. Have you been to The Wolseley?
http://thefabuloustimes.com
Where To Stay: The Langham
From the moment you stand in front of The Langham, a five star hotel, you are engulfed by the beautiful architecture. You feel like you're staying in an English castle. The interior has a bit of a retro 60s flair, which contrasts with the more classic exterior. The hotel is located in a prime location, which makes it easy to visit different attractions.

The Fashion: Below are looks that can be worn while your out on either a more casual or formal date. For the casual looks, I opted for a sandal, and above the knee dress. For the formal looks, I opted for a heel, and below the knee dress. The looks have that English flair. What do you think? Are you more of a casual or formal look kind of a girl?

Yummy Sugary Treats Organized By Color

http://www.thesewoods.com
When I saw this food series photographed by Emily Blincoe I felt like I was in heaven. My body literally shut down and I jolted to the local supermarket. Well, not quite, but a boy can dream! The Austin based photographer grouped different candies based on their color, and photographed them. Isn't this series fun? (ABOVE) I'm going for the lollipop and the watermelon candy in the center. I think I want the Air Head too!

(1) The pink is super cute. I wonder what the animal ones in the center are? Any guesses? Definitely want some Starburst.

(2) I'll take the Tangerine candies, and the lollipop. Not a huge fan of orange Tick-Tac's. Which candy is calling you?

Weekly Start Off: No 30

http://web.stagram.com
Happy Monday, November 18, 2013, readers! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I'm going through a bit of a hat craze at the moment. There's something super comforting about throwing one on in the morning and not having to worry about what your hair looks like. I love the classic elegance of the hat pictured above. However, I find myself just throwing on a snapback, or a beanie. Are you a fan of wearing hats? Which type of hats are you a fan of most?

1. So, if you're into the more classic-elegant looking hat, then I suggest this one. It comes in different colors and runs for $38, made of wool (great winter piece). If your more into casual hats, beanie type look, then I suggest this one. It too comes in different colors and will run you $35!

2. I'm a huge fan of Daft Punk, so I was thrilled when I came across this feature in WSJ magazine. The feature features Daft Punk and Giselle Bundchen. I suggest you check out the article and photography!

3. Thanksgiving is only a handful of days away! I'm so excited to see family and to eat some really good food. I've starting looking for some unique and yummy recipes and have come across this Baked Brie with Pecans recipe. Can't wait to try it.

A Night In The City: Paris

http://crispme.com/20-beautiful-france-nature-photographs/
Paris is one of the most glamorous cities in the world. Paris is well known for its high-end fashion, great food, and beautiful architecture. It's a city for everyone, where you will most surely find something that suits your fancy. What are your thoughts about the iconic city?

Where To Eat: Le Meurice
Le Meurice is a highly regarded restaurant in the heart of the city. From the moment you walk in to its classically appointed interiors you known you're in for a treat! Ranked as one of the top five restaurants in Paris, Le Meurice will not disappoint.

Where To Stay: Hotel Plaza Athenee
What I love about the Hotel Plaza Athenee is its traditional Parisian elegance. It's not a modern decorated hotel, it's very true to 18th century French decor. I find that when I am in another country, I want to experience their taste. The Hotel Plaza Athenee is all about luxury, and with its prime location and five star rating you will be nothing but impressed.

The Fashion: This Parisian-inspired outfit is all about 60s influences. I am a huge fan of the Kelly Wearstler top, to me it resembles Parisian architecture. What are your thoughts? The vintage Chanel clutch was a no brainer. I love its deep color and its classic elegance. Chanel is the French brand to buy. With this outfit, it's an absolute must. Which pieces are your favorite?

Weekly Start Off: No 6

Happy Monday, January 20, 2013 readers! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I'm very excited for today's swearing in of President Obama. Every election I'm always curious to see what the first lady will be wearing. The above photographs are so cool, I just realized that the colors are very patriotic! What I like about the first photograph is the mix of patterns. Don't be afraid of mixing stripes and circles, if done correctly it'll look great. I don't even know what to say about the second photograph! Those shoes are so rad (does anyone say rad anymore)? I can safely say that I have never seen shoes like this. What do you think?

1. I found a few great fashion pieces if your looking for a little wardrobe upgrade. This dress, is a great piece for the spring. I'm a huge fan of bold prints and this one does not disappoint. If you're into metallic leather boots, then I have a treat for you, they're Marc Jacobs and they're 50% off. A plus, plus! These earrings are so beautiful. They're classic with a modern spin. Definitely a great piece for spring. Wear them for a night out.

2. If you live in an old house or apartment like I do, you may have door knobs that need a little love and care. I'm one who will always save what is old and try to restore it to its former glory. This blog post, will give you some insights to cleaning your vintage metal hardware.

3. Let's talk food--this Sunday I enjoyed a nice pancake breakfast! If you're off from work today and still enjoying your weekend, then I suggest you try this recipe. I did and I can tell you, you will not be disappointed.
