I for sure have been blogging more than usual but I have a lot of alone time so I have nothing to entertain myself but my thoughts, lucky for you.
I have a little story but first some background...
I have naturally blonde hair, blonde enough that there I certain things I don't worry much about, more specifically, plucking my eyebrows. I mean its not like I haven't EVER but I could honestly count on one hand the number of times I have. It hurts and I can't tell much of a difference so why take the time. Am I the only one who feels this way?
My fantastic friend Salli, who I love more than almost anyone in the world, has informed me a few times that I should take more care of my brows. Back in february she took it upon herself to "shape" them up for me. A few weeks ago she told me I needed her to fix them again. At least I have good friends looking out for me.
That brings us to now.
There is a store in the mall here called "WOW Brows". It is a place all about removing facial hair. It is always really busy and each time I walked by I had thoughts of Salli whispering in my ear telling me I needed to get my eyebrows done again. I usually am alone and a procedure that requires closed eyes really isn't possible with an 18 month old. Today I was at the mall, my mother in law was with me and the store wasn't busy so I decided it was fate and I should give it a shot. We are getting family pics in a few days and I want my brows lookin' good.
WOW Brows specializes in threading. Its a fast way of plucking using string. Its an interesting technique, I had never heard of it before, but I'm obviously not caught up on eyebrow removal. A lady came out showed us a little video and did a small demonstration on our hands. I didn't feel a thing so I was ready to get it done. I sat down and she got to work. I can't lie, it hurt. Not a ton but it wasn't painless. The upside is that it was pretty quick. When I was done I had watery eyes framed with red but perfectly shaped brows. Yes, even I can see a difference.
After she finished she handed me a mirror and had me look at it to see what I thought. I told her I liked it and then she said "Do you want me to hurry and do your upper lip too?" I responded with "I have hair on my lip" and she nodded yes. What the!!!! Now I have to worry about my brows and my apparently hairy upper lip, Salli never told me about that! I passed on my upper lip for today. I guess you could say this experience was eye opening. You can learn so much about all your facial hair in one day.

Bre, I pluck my brows, but I have wondered about the threading, so thanks for trying out, now I have a better idea :)
Your'e so cute, and I love that you are blogging more.
Okay you are not alone, not once have I ever touched my eyebrows, my sister tells me I need to all the time. But I just plain don't care, I am sure everybody that does is thinking mine look terrible. As for the upper lip, I wouldn't worry about that one, they probably say that to everyone!
hahahaha don't worry - I know I have hair on my upper lip too!
I'm glad you posted your thoughts about the threading thing... the salon where I get my hair done has a technician that uses that technique for eyebrows and I've always wondered about it / wanted to try it.
You are too funny! Just so you know, I have never noticed your hairy lip :) Maybe I will go get my eyebrows threaded next time I need them done. Those mall places just always seem a bit sketchy to me, ya know? Instead I just wait and get them done about every 6 months when I go home...remember the crazy lady who calls her daughter a hooker? Yep, maybe she is still a little sketchy too. But she does a good job!
bahahaha! This is so funny! I'm sure you don't have a hairy lip, they probably just like their job and likes th thread everything!
hahah im with taryn i go to the hooker lady too! its a riot every time we go!
i think that lady just wanted more of your money. im pretty sure you have no upper lip hair!
ha ha...that is hilarious!
