So I'm back in Singapore now after a very good trip in Hong Kong! I can't believe that there's only a few hours left in 2007. A year passes by in a blink of an eye- did you accomplish anything worthwhile in these 365.25 days?
Well 2007 is sort of an important year for me, it being my O' Level year and all. So that certainly leaves a mark as it's my last year in secondary school and the last time I'll be seeing my schoolmates. I'd also graduated out of secondary school this year, like many others.
However I also feel that with some people, I've come to grow closer to them emotionally throughout this year. We had serious talks about our lives, our thoughts, our views and the like, some which are even rather personal. We gossiped carelessly about random, negligible people. I feel really lucky to not have lose contact with people I don't meet regularly, which actually just requires effort on both parts to make it possible. I'm glad I made the effort! :D
I've also got to know some people that I know by name in school but didn't really talk to, like the people who went on the UK trip! :D That was definitely one of my best memories in secondary school; it was 10 days of pure and maybe a tad of adulterated fun! :D :D :D All the lovely girls I've come to meet on the trip are totally amazing and we need to make a trip back there when we're older or something again together. :)
On the other hand there are some people that whom I've drifted apart from. :( Irony, irony.
In all 2007 is a pretty good year for me, in the sense that I know that I'm matured in my thinking (not my actions though, because that would make me boring) and that even though I'm losing the childlike naïveté that time chips off, I still hope growing up wouldn't be that painful.
Of course there are the negative aspects of 2007, such as I'm still as lazy as ever, and that I still don't try hard enough sometimes, et cetera et cetera. Must overcome all these bad points!
Adieu 2007, we all look forward to 2008! :D

ciao
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all who reads this!
I hope all of you get loads of blessings not only in material form of course, but in terms of care, concern and love! Stay happy and I hope that 2007 has been an awesome year for everyone, because guess what? 2008 will just be a better year!
Anyway, I'll be leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow morning and will only be back on the 30th, so I'll see you all then. I'm going to miss everyone!

the clock is ticking

On Monday I managed to watch the Golden Compass! I decided to not read the book after all, so I didn't really understand the movie at first. However as it went on the pieces fell quite well together. I thought that Dakota Blue Richards acted very well (she has a really awesome sulk and scorn), that Eva Green is beautiful and that Daniel Craig is hot. Ha ha ha. I felt that the movie had an abrupt ending though, maybe because I want to know more and I didn't get to know more. This means it'd have a sequel! So should I read the books first or what? I remember debating this question last year when I watched Eragon, but I ended up not reading them. The sequel didn't come out yet, after a year. Maybe there wouldn't be one. :O
Tuesday was ice-skating and boy did I forget how to ice-skate. I kept stretching my arms out to keep my balance and this one time when I actually stretched my arm out, this sweet little girl grasped my hand! Ha ha ha! :D She's so adorable! I mean, she was just holding my hand and everything- I think she thought I was falling or something. Yes she could skate perfectly well. At least there was someone who was worse than me on ice; I call him the dancer on ice! Or rather, the penguin.
On a side note, I've been celebrating Christmas early! In Maple ha ha ha.

'Tis the season to be jolly, falalalala, lalalala!

prologue to results
So today the PAE results are released. For the benefit of those who don't know what's PAE, it's the exercise whereby the O' Level students choose their junior college for the trial first month next year, before the actual O' Level results are out.
I woke up at 1145AM with 5 new texts, a few which demanded me to check which college I'm posted to.
In case you're wondering, I'm posted to MERIDIAN JUNIOR COLLEGE (SCIENCE). If you're posted there too you need to tell me immediately so I'd know!
...Then I found out I can't take Econs and Literature together in the Science stream. Ha ha ha. I cringe at the thought of taking Chemistry again, but we'll see.

scream my lungs out

On Tuesday I finally managed to catch Enchanted with Debby! The movie made me laugh so bad, and I thought the prince was hot. :D
After the movie we went to meet the rest at Downtown East (the rest being Qian, Faus, Stephie and Winky) and headed to Escape Theme Park! Ha ha ha! I'm serious. The queuing time for the rides is very long though. We first queued for the go karts, and it was fun! I wanted to go another round but that would mean queuing for goodness knows how long again. So we went to queue for the Inverter but when it was reaching our turn it started to rain! :( So depressing!
Hence we hung out at the stalls and watch people throw hoops, balls and whatnot while whining about the rain. But miraculously before we left the place, the rain stopped! :D This time we went to queue for this ride which had turning cups. I have no idea what the name of the ride is, obviously. Debby was initially afraid because she said it made her giddy, but when we were on the actual ride there wasn't much of a kick. Nevertheless it was fun!
Right after that we raced for the Inverter again! However this group of super inconsiderate people cut the queue so we had to wait even longer. I mean, seriously, one or two people is alright, but thirteen?! I shall skip the unpleasant part. So when we were safely secured to our seats, I realised that my feet are dangling and they could not touch the ground! :X Then they started flinging us into the sky, which was just fabulous. I screamed so bad! Honestly I'd love to ride that again but I had time constraints. :(
The Viking was the one ride that truly scared me though! Debby and Stephie sat out on this one so there were only 4 of us. When we were about to enter the ride, this cute girl tugged on my shirt and said, "Jie jie, can you sit with me?" I was surprised for a second then I looked up to see her father at the other side smiling and nodding his head. I agreed and so she sat with us and everything! Debby was busy taking embarrassing pictures of us during the ride though. I just kept screaming my head off. The poor girl beside me looked like she was trying to contain her laughter though. But she was super shy! I asked her to look at the camera, which she did for about two seconds before ducking her head ha ha! So adorable!
During the actual ride when the ship froze for like 2 seconds when it swung up, I felt like I would fall and die if I let go of the bar so I clung really hard to it and it MOVED, which scared the crap out of me. The girl was hugging the bar super tightly too which proves it wasn't just me! :X I wouldn't hesitate to sit the ride again though ha ha.
I love amusement parks! :D Photos are in Qian's camera, if you're lucky you might get to see our petrified faces on the Viking and other unglam photos of messy hair and sticky faces.
Anyway, it was a great day spent with lovely people. :)

ode to mum
Happy Birthday to my beloved Mummy. I will not put the age because every woman's age is a secret. However I'm glad to say that my mother doesn't look any older and that she's in very good health, which is what that matters actually. :)
Even though you may not understand me sometimes, I know you love me.
Even though you may seem unreasonable at times, I know you care for me.
Even though your actions may not make me happy, I know you want the best for me.
Even though we have our differences, we are family.
Happy Birthday Mummy and I love you! :D

can you feel the love tonight
If you want to hang out with me just text or call and we can do something, BECAUSE I'M SERIOUSLY BORED AT HOME. Especially with those people I haven't seen in forever! I just want to enjoy a bit of life before going back to school next year too.
Anyway, I was rereading texts in my inbox which contents I've forgotten over the year. It's just fascinating how we forget our conversations with people- conversations that might mean something to them and us. How we may forget deals that were made, words that were said (or in this case, typed) and perhaps plans that were confirmed but then neglected.
It's amazing how in this fast-paced world we fail to slow down and remember.

gimme more
Ha ha ha I actually like Britney's Gimme More. So slutty I know!
Anyway I've been busy this past week, with prom and the visit from my cousins and friends from Malaysia! However hectic this week was I had tons of fun. Photos will be up soon because I simply don't have time to do so right now!
Tuesday was prom, so in the afternoon we went to get our hair and makeup done before cabbing to Four Seasons Hotel. It was basically a sort of glamourous night to mingle with the batch the last time. Anyway it was fun, if not tiring, to shop for the dress and shoes but I did manage to purchase both for under a hundred dollars. So yay for me!
Thursday my cousins and their friends reached here. They came mainly because they signed up for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon! Unfortunately I did not get to see them run because the marathon started at an unearthly time. I probably will join next year though, if they come next year again! (I'm cringing at the thought of running 10KM, but at least before I die I could say I ran in a marathon before) On the rest of the days we went around shopping and eating. I tried to make the boys to spend all their Singapore money but I failed. :( It was a tiring and hectic 5 days but nevertheless fun and amazing and I got to meet a couple of new people. :D :D :D
On a side note, I managed to complete the Rubik's Cube! I am simply brilliant.
